Jon,
Congrats on the grandson.
Brutus,
I replied to your PM yesterday.
I have been working all weekend again, so I havn't had much free time. I did manange to win a Gilbert 21166 Burlington Route steamer on ebay after I got home Friday night. It isn't anything like the earlier steamers in terms of quality or features, but my dad bought one for me about 16 years ago and it broke and was thrown out at some point, and I always wanted another one. At $14.95, I couldn't let another 21166 get away.
Aloha. Welcome Alex and congrats, Jon! Buckeye, you say bimini, I say bikini, you say tomato, I say tomato - sounds like a song. Brutus, let me know what you think about that Steampunk stuff. It's fun. Canoed eight miles with feuding youngsters but it was fun. My shoulders are a tad sore. Looks like I'm stuck with my game tics tonight because I didn't check with the bride. Maybe I can swap them for tomorrow' last game of the season. Good college football late last eve.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 83 today with mostly sunshine all day.
Today is an easy day. I plan on relaxing and watching the Nascar race from Atlanta this evening. I will spend about an hour in the train room this afternoon.
Jon.....Congratulations on the new Grandson !!!!
Dining car was here for the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Good Morning
Woke up to fog but the sun is burning it off. Hi 70s today.
Dennis, I let other modeler's talk me into a 30 inch high table. Huge mistake and I knew it. I cannot sit up under it and laying on my back with arms streched upward is not pleasant. And if the youngins think it's ok, time will teach them it's not.
No special plans for today but I better be outside as Brutus is sending rain for tomorrow. Play safe.....S.J.

Morning all!
Jon: Congratulations!
Steve: Hang in there.
Spent a good deal of time on the wood coasters at Cedar Point. Spent my younger days at Bob Lo Island. 4-yo likes the coasters. I can't wait.
Could use some prayers. Thanks.
Kurt
Congratulations Jon and Sharyl!!!! I see that you are already spoiling him....good! That is your job. That, and to watch how much he will drive your son nuts over the years and you just sit back and enjoy a parent's revenge!
Bob, hope you get that Blazer fixed soon. High elevations often require the defrost, and one wrong turn....
Got some layout work done in that I was able to wire a couple of activation tracks. Son helped, so it was long, but had some good lessons. Also had my legs go numb under the layout. Oh how fun it is to get old.
Well, time to do my daily reading and prayers, then get ready for church. I am still on call, so I hope to not have to go in. We shall see.
God Bless,Dennis

TIRTF (Tardis Is Ready To Fly)? Hmmm - have to come up with something good.
Just had a really nice and relaxing day today. Woke up to rain, so no yard work - bonus! Took some stuff back to Lowes and got store credit, then spent twice that on more stuff. But, except for taking my son out for a hotdog at lunch, I mostly spent the day playing games with him or hanging out and watching some Studio Ghibli movies with my daughter. Just enjoyed some good family time today.
Jon - big congrats, Grandpa!
Nice talks with SJ and RT!
Prayers for all in need and our loved ones too
Ready to fly, cookies and banilla sounds good to me! Patrick - what happens in the Tardis stays in the Tardis Mike - compliments to the SW!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good Evening
A great day sunny and warm. Also first day of football so the tv was on today. I am going to see if I can catch Brutus on the chat line before he takes off in the thingy. Banilla and root beer are ready....S.J.
congrats gram-pa Glad to hear the news as said above I guess that trip to the train store was for his first train set.
Evening all not much going on talking to jim at present. (Brutus)
hope all have a good night

Evening all from beautiful Southern Ohio,
It was gorgeous today. Perfect temp and no humidity today. This evening is very pleasant also.
Cedar Point is great. Lots of great coasters. The camp ground nearby is nice. We’ve taken the Youth Group there several times.
Dennis – AF stuff to fix???? Bring it on! Jim & Jim and other will help you!
Jon – Congratulations!!!! Alex will be in my prayers!
May God bless
Jim
Back home from the mountain. Got rained on quite a bit. The heater/AC controls went out on the blazer so I had no defrost. Had to keep wiping the window, but it got better as the elevation dropped. Good lightning show and rainstorm on the way back.
Got to run to the hardware store for a few things, then some more work in the garage. Think I might have a pack rat making the rounds in there, will have to check things out.
Jon - congrats on the grandson!
Have a great weekend!

Jon - Congratulations on the birth of your grandson.
RAY,
You are correct, this is what they looked like. Real sharp.

Laz, those F units sound like the Norfolk Southern business train power with former Southern Railway paint job. I think they have four unit all together. Probably did not need all of them for whatever task they were doing. MTH made a limited run of the models.
Still hot here but cooling down a little. Went to morning mass today to see my grandson in his very first altar boy assignment. He did very well and looked like an old hand at it. We all went out to breakfast after church with all the family. Daughter in law took pictures of the priest and my grandson, then with all of us.
Ran some trains this morning after we got home from breakfast with my scale GG1 and 8 car train of cars I have'nt run for a while. Ran my Walthers scale length combine and coach along with a baggage and RPO, express box car and two MTH coaches and one diner all in Tuscan red to match engine. Some of the cars don't roll too easy but that GG1 had plenty of power to spare.
Cleared out of garage when the temp hit 90 about 11:45 AM.
Have a good week end y'all
Ray

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Did weights at the YMCA last night and this morning. Went to soccer practice. Some lineup and strategy changes were being made. Not too sure if they are all the right moves, but obviously something had to be done. Swept the house this morning as well. Will be reffing a noon game today and hopefully it will be cleaner than the last ones I did. Going to Franklin College this afternoon to watch a Greensburg alum in her first college game. I hope she gets to play. The "saucy wench" is going as well since I said something about going out to eat after the game. We are going to IU tomorrow to watch a game there as well. (I love this time of the year). Congrats Jon on the new grandbaby! I had cereal and donuts from a new local bakery in town. TBIL, and between driving and watch Patrick and Don's neighbor, it was a busy night! I hope all enjoyed the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies the "saucy wench" made last night. They were delicious. There may be some more tonight! I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
to the new Grandson Jon. I assume the stop at the train store before visiting the hospital is so you will be the first to buy him a train set.
Gee Brutus, now that the word is out about the dance routine it won't be a surprise. We will do it anyway.
SJ - You and I are both lucky. We also have our three kids living here in the same county with us. Not many can say that!
Leaving in a few minutes to go to a surprise out door anniversary party for one of our daughters and SIL, there 30th. Great weather for it.

Congrats Jon and family. I am glad to read all is well.
A wonderful Good Morning from The Heartlands Yesterday we welcomed into the world our Grandson Alex! Everyone is doing great and I am heading to Caboose Stop Hobbies in Cedar Falls before I hit the hospital later. It's been a very long 9 months for our DIL and son and fortunately it all ended well. Alex joins his sister and this will be it, very grateful.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Sun shine galore, hi 70s today.
I had a nice chat With Brutus last nite and we started talking movies. Boy there are acres of old movies that bring back memories. We have no big weekend plans but I am sure some of our little family will get together. We are very lucky as our three kids all live within a mile of us. Things could change some day but for now it's nice. Oatmeal and half a muffin for breakfast. Have A Safe Weekend....S.J.
59 and cool here in Pa. Had first fire of the fall season or late summer last nite with wife. Did chicken and beans on the out door fireplace ayes OL MILs. Great nite nice and cool and maybe again tonite?
CHIEF, while I was at Waynes on Thursdat nite after GOLF, the tracks are next to Waynes, I saw a NORFOLK SOUTHER F3 AB units going north outside of Millersburg. What a beautiful engine and B unit. What's up with this? Is it a tour train? Or just a NAWRTHN INVASION? Sorry these were the F7s AB, I couldn't see the fronts of them and only saw the top and sides, had the fans on them and I thought they were f3s.
Morning all. Rounds done, paperwork done, now to go home and have some breakfast with the family. I hope it remains quiet so I can get some layout work done. I am looking over at a piece of equipment that was probably made in Germany as it is Over-engineered. They have rollers on it and one of the rollers is stuck. Problem is that they designed it so it can't be taken apart for cleaning. Oh well, they had to send a new one and I'll have to send this one back.
I have a box of American Flyer trains that needs lots of care and repair for a friend. Will have to dive into that soon and see what needs doing. Will surely come to this crowd for assistance.
Hope everyone is enjoying this weekend.God Bless,Dennis
Thingy is ready to fly Mike, we can take turns driving if you want? Patrick and Don's neighbor said they are working on some kind of dance routine, I'm not really sure what that could be? Maybe it's the Locomotion? Ran too late last night and nearly did so again tonight! Sorry guys, got talking to some friends online including RT, Jeffrey, then SJ and finally our friend Brenda. No OT tomorrow, so I have a 3 day weekend. My aunt will be in town and we are all getting together for lunch Sunday after their church lets out. Took the kids to Borders tonight, picked up a book for myself titles Steampunk. Some of the stories I already have in other books, but many were new to me, so that is cool. I got a report that my GP9 shipped today and when I got home, my Percy had shown up - NIB from the 'Bay. Have supplies to get some work done on the basement this weekend too!
Prayers for Steve, Greg, Rich, Bob, JimSP and family, and all those in need!
Cloudy and light rain most of the day.
Interesting e-mail today. The company has been reorganized again. Now we have the world divided up under 3 VP's. The change is transparent to me. Other related trivia, the VP who joined the meeting I was in yesterday got promoted and now will run North and South America.
Ceader Point. In younger days, I tried to make a yearly pilgrimage there to ride the coasters. It has been 7 or 8 years since my last visit. I can remember standing line for the Corkscrew for about an hour the first season it was open. Last time I visited, I waited for maybe two trains to get a front seat, then immediately walked back to the entrance and rode the back seat. The Blue Streak is still my favorite coaster. Others are bigger, faster, and smoother, but they don't have the same soul.
Got some bits and pieces coming from Train Tender.
About it for now.
Yep old Cedar Point, we did the same thing. parked in downtown Sandusky and rode the little boat with bench seats across to the park. The only time I ever saw my dad swim was there. we were out farther than he like so he rented a bathing suit and came in after us. no more swimming that day. Did any of you Buckeyes ever hear of the Blue Hole? Banilla and root beer are ready for the thingy....S.J.
Good evening everyone. We had a emergency case today right after all the regular shift folks left. Being on call, I had to do that plus a scheduled case that kept me there till tonight. Oh well, was greeted very warmly by whole family....including the dog upon my arrival.
Buckeye, I had often wanted to go to Cedar Point when I was in college in Pittsburgh, but only made it to Kennywood a few times. Cedar Point did have quite the reputation.
I do have to go in for rounds in the morning, but it should be a good day. I hope to get some layout work done. Also got a new NYC boxcar tonight when I came home. Will have to see about SPF to have a little fun.
God BLess,Dennis
TGIF....
Doug......Bikini or Bimini, same thing, isn't it?
SJ.....My first trip to Cedar Point was 42 years ago. It is the mecca for roller coaster aficionados.

Good morning all, Fires are becoming more managable as time goes on... I heard over 40% contained on the station fire. Still getting smoke but air quaility was moderate this morning. I guess that means that you would only die slowly outside. I did take about a 20 minute walk but did not feel good about it. Finally ran some trains this morning after a few days. Put the newly arrived tuscan shell on my scale Williams Pennsylvania GG1 and hooked it up to about 7 tuscan passenger cars. Had a sqeak in the engine for a while but found it after oiling everything. It was in the pick up rollers. WD40 did not work good but used a small drop of light oil instead. Got some good news and bad news yesterday about my MTH E6 diesels. Good news is they found the problem (bad board). Bad news is it aint cheap to fix. Anyway bit the bullet and gave go ahead on it. Thinking about selling some of my conventional engines. Have two brass scale Williams engines GS4 and N&W J, two Lionel engines SP Atlantic in Daylight colors and SP consolidation 2-8-0. Train meet coming up Sunday at TTOS Southwestern Div. in Arcadia. TCA Western later this month. Have a good week end all,
Brent,
First generation Probes (1989-92) used a similar method as your BMW for the taillights, and the same problem plus rust in the spare tire well are the usual results. With the prices you stated for new lenses, you could own a Probe and still pay similar prices for parts When I called the service department at the local Ford dealer two years ago in search of a new catalytic converter, they said that if it was still available, it would be $1000.
If you did the angel eye upgrade, you might get more money if you sell the car.
88 - First two trips are sold out 10/19 and 11/9. Extra trip is for 10/26, all day $175 to pay to play. I think I'm just gonna cut a check, because I don't dig photo lines.
734 should be running each weekend thru Fall. Would be more interesting if WM 39 were to be cosmetically restored by then. Will let you know.
