...annnnd, you would get snow in the winter.
Mornin' boys. Wet & 66 TAKE IT! Sorry, lemme gather my compusre and rephrase... anjdevil, Rich ol' buddy, Point of Rocks is a beautiful area. Lots of RR action, served by MARC, close to Fredrick, Charlestown, and just far enough from DC. Plus, Brent wwould be halfway between your place and mine. Now if that don't seal-the-deal...
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI, but there is no joy in Mudville (Greensburg) as "my" soccer girls got pounded 9-0 last night. You knew it was going to be bad when the other team scores with less than a minute gone in the game. My wife knew it was bad when I came home and still had my voice. JV lost 8-0 as well. No offense, no defense, no nothing. Sad, sad, sad. Long day at work yesterday as well. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East". TBIL, and you can pick me up early because the boys do not have a JV team. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Where has Buckeye been? He and his "team" tried to slip into Roseyville but was caught on camera and surrounded by Roseyville Police. He landed his forces on helicopters painted black that had no markings or numbers. He was forced to fly away.

CLoudy, muggy, some thunder & lightening, and about 80 today.
Congratulations on your 50th Pat.
Work is still there. Politicked most of the day on a project that has gone a sour. Must be human nature to ask 'what happened and why', rather than 'what are you putting in place to fix it'. Until the fix is in place, the former question is useless. Once the fix is in place, 'what happened and why' becomes important to undersatnd so it can be avoided next time. At one time I was considering going back to Corporate if a position opened up. Days like today make me re-conside that possibility. Wa, wa, wa. I'll pass out cheese to go along with this whine.
Corporate sent paperwork that authorizes the start of a new product - always good news. Tight timing and funding, but that seems to be the way of things recently.
Nothing new with the trains.
Later youse guys.
Good evening everyone. Had a OK day in that I went in a little later. Had to have a talk with a friend who's daughter was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Gave him the run down, and fortunately, he and his family have a great faith. Will be tough as she grows. It is a new way of life for them.
Case was long, but went well. I am tired, so it'll be off to bed. Have a bunch of little cases in the morning. I also have the evaluations to do for our department. Always hate to do that as we have to be critical, but fair. Oh well, that is how we get better.
Seems I won two auctions, one for a Jersey Central reefer, and another for a K-Line statue of liberty model. I am sure I can find a place for both on the layout.
Practiced a little violin with the kids and wife tonight. That is always fun. Some times, the music from those instruments can make a heart warm....Other times, it can make a dog cringe.
Good night.
Dennis

Pat, congrats on fifty.
A goofy day weather wise, clouds and sun then sprinkles, it went that way all day, like it could not decide.
Brutus I am ready for the Tardis with extra banilla if needed.

You have been gone??? Had not noticed.
Pat, 50 years with you!!!! Oh my God. She has to be an . Congrats ole buddy.
Town Board went great and fast. Needed that one. Was beginning to wonder if I wanted to really retire with such a busy day. Super busy tomorrow but off Thursday to see the Grandsons.
Well, time to call the old over the hill horn blower in Ioway [he is beaming over the new Grandson]. You'd think it was the first one in the whole world.
Later.
Pat - congas on 50!
Well, hello Buckeye....
Was up to 88 today fairly humid but ok.
Brutus, beam me up, I have some cold Moosehead here, let's party up!
HD still inop, dealer is of no help, time for a trade in...checking another job offer in Maryland, looked at some real estate in Point of Rocks...I'll have to SHMBO on this one, depending on the pay structure.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Welcome back Buckeye!
Congratulations, Pat!
Taking it easy tonight as back still hurts from yesterday, but I did go through some boxes of stuff that my Mom and Sis "packed" for us when they were helping my wife clean the house about 2 months ago. I found Home Depot ads, my DS, pocket change, and basically all my stuff that disappeared inclding a book a buddy loaned me - guess I better get that back to him.
Tardis is fueling, but will be ready shortly. I'm stocking up on Old Mills, Sam A's and popcorn. We still have chocolate chip cookies, banilla, rootbeer, and for some reason two large containers of humus and some Naan bread that my family refuses to at least try, geez!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

green97probePat, How does pegboard look once it is painted? I don't use the holes for anything, so I am not concerned about them.
Pat,
How does pegboard look once it is painted? I don't use the holes for anything, so I am not concerned about them.
Painted pegboard looks fine as long as you brush wipe out the paint from the holes. If you don't, the paint will run out of the hole and down the board 1/2 inch or so.
SJ,
Just be glad that you didn't do what I did when I bought wiper blades for the PGT. I bought blades that were one inch too short. I'll live with them until they need replaced because it took me long enough to repaint the wiper arms.
Ole Timer,
I have some friends who are into Call of Duty World at War. I am waiting for Forza 3 to come out on 10-27-09. When it comes out, I'll be on Xbox Live all the time.
Not much planned for today other than finishing the work for my online courses.
I have said for years that you can't pull off a surprise party with out the intended person finding out about it. And I was always right - until this weekend. Our kids pulled it off. They brought in family from all over the country for our 50th wedding anniversary! And they started planning it last January! We are still not over the shock and surprise. What a great weekend.
Ole Timer - 62 years old? Your a young chick. But then everything is relative.
SJ - If you have an Advance Auto Parts store near you, they will put wipers on for free.
Jon - My vote is for the John Deere train set, if you can find it, especially the engine. Finally found the engine, MTH with PS-2 at a show last month.
green97probe- I have painted pegboard two ways, with a brush and with a roller. Both ways required using the brush to remove the paint from the holes.
Morning. Things done here. Had a good rain last night. Turnips growing. Got County Commissioners' this afternoon and Town Board tonight. Hope all had a great holiday. We enjoyed the lake. Took Pam and her middle sister and middle sister's Granddaughter for a two hour pontoon boat ride up to the dam and back. Rested up after mowing grass and trimming. Watered all the flower beds twice [last time just before it started raining]. Mainly a lazy holiday weekend. Hope all are doiong well. Will catch up on things later. BTW: Fifey, you could have flown with the yatchett yesterday on Kerr Lake. Waves. Have a good one.
SHANKE and BAKE,
Gee I thought when I first saw it that it was JELECTRICs car going into sink hole?

Good Morning
Drizzle this AM. Going into the 70s.
Up early this morning, got a hair cut and wipers for grannys car. Two different lengths and of course I put them on the wrong sides. No I didn't notice, the salesman just handed them to me and off I went. Big breakfast of eggs hash browns bacon and toast means no lunch needed. First day of public school so granny walked to the school just to see two grandsons arrive. Geeze.
Enjoy your Monday this Tuesday....S.J.
Hi Guys .... stopped in for a quick check of everyone on the pot ..... seems all is well . Have been really busy and jumping in the bed early ... missing the tardis with all my buddies ....... sons have me on xbox live playing some wild and fun games .... addicted for sure . Those young guys find out I'm an old 62 year old codger and welcome me with open arms .... thought they may not want an old fellow in there .... they just say " come on grandpappy .... we'll SHOW NO MERCY THOUGH " ... lol .... and believe me they don't . Hate it when a 14 - 24 year old smokes me .... darn those kids are good . What surprised me was there's alot of old boys on there ! Call of Duty World at War ..... if ya have it come try to get me ....
Jim ........ yea I've painted pegboard .... then outlined the tools I have on there so my sons would put them back where they belong on the hooks correct ... they used to just rehang them all over the place .... ... stopped that .
Thought some of you might find this interesting! As if we don't have enough issues, we also manage to come up with some ORIGINAL, items.

I still have photos of me on the big concrete turtle out front of Bob-Lo Island.
Doug: Thanks for all the extra reading materials! Funny the DVD drive-in is a hot topic now. CTT covered it in Sept 2006.
Rain today...looks like an all day rain. Need to get health forms filled out for 4-yo by tomorrow. Found out I needed them Saturday.

Good Morning from foggy land ... great weather in the morning to be working outside but not so great for those folks driving to work. Looks like we are in a transition period for weather.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes with the new grandson, we are blessed to be sure. Everything seems to be going well, Grammie stayed with the kids through this weekend, they requested her prescence. I was able to leave later Sunday afternoon as I have days and days worth of work with tilling/seeding/watering/etc. Our landscaping project is 99% done but I have big areas of reseeding and making sure all the new plants are watered regularly. I ran the tiller for 4 hours yesterday then reseeded and raked all afternonn, double ugh. I did sleep well. The kids will have the Baptism later this month so lots of family coming in, then once Oct. 3 arrives I'm busy every weekend judging marching band competitions around the midwest. Oct. 3 is the worst day as I have a morning competition to adjudicate and the drive aother 100 mies for another afternoon/evening show. I do enjoy it plus it's a short season as I finish Oct. 24.
Mitch ... hang in there, not easy being the point man. Just remember, last weekend there was a full moon and the spooks do come out. I remember that the strangest calls I would get from parents were typically on a Saturday night, I think alcohol and a full moon were a double whammy. Makes retirement that much more enjoyable to look forward to.
Last week when the landscaping crew finished they wanted to see the trains run, it was great. They were at the end of a long day but still hung around for another 40 minutes while I ran the trains and they just loved it. Even enjoyed pushing all the accessory buttons. I always tell everyone that if they have a neighbor or grandparent or someone that might enjoy seeing the trains run to bring them out, just call a few days in advance. I've actually had a few folks do that, not many but those that do come out really enjoy themselves. We've thought many times about doing a December open house but our driveway is gravel and steep ... if there were any snow or ice it would a challenge.
Time to get busy.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Mornin' boys. Gloomy & 66 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Last day of stay-cation. Laundry, oil-change, paint the closet round out the to-do list today.
It is foggy in SE Indiana. Subbed for missing kids at practice last night. Had to play midfield (Yech!). Too much running. Was tired. Watched "Antiques Roadshow" and "History Detectives" on PBS. I had the regular fare on the dining car. TBIL.. I hope everyone has a good day.
HI GYZ,
59 this morning and cloudy. Not much happening today just teaching safety lesson to kidos today. Watched DIRTY JOBS last nite, a rerun of the Locomotive factory in IDAHO. Pretty GOOD.
B safe,
Morning to All.
Just dropping by for a quick cup. Busy here over the last two weeks with opening of school, back to school nights. and moving son out of one apartment into to a temporary place until a new apartment isready in two weeks. Lots more back to school nights in the next two weeks. Also some craziness over the President's Speech to school children. There are some real loonies in this world and I talked to several of them last Friday. Makes me wonder why I keep working. Sometimes the aggravation factor is just amazing.
Got to go now.
Take care,
Mitch

Charlie, it's always train season!
Good early morning to every one. Got lots going on, so getting an early start. Hope everyone has had a great labor day. See where the Jerry Lewis telethon has raised over 60 Million dollars. That is a lot in this economy. When I was with the IAFF, that was our big fundraiser for the year. We used to do a "Boot Drive".
Have a friend who's daughter was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She is about 8 years old. Going to be a long road for them as kids diets are so varied and their metabolism is off the charts. Never mind hormone levels in a few years. Fortunately, they have a strong faith.
God Bless,
