Good job Kurt on the MSF courseThumbs Up  When you do get a bike you will be ready to put those skills to work for you.  I have not had a chance to ride at all this week, TODAY that will change, GORGEOUS weather all weekend and it is to continue for a few more days.

Morning all!  Looks like I'm first up.  Fresh pot on!

Passed MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) Basic Rider Course!  On to Secretary of State to pass their written exam.  Amazing course.  I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to ride.  I still don't feel ready to get on the road yet, but I am jazzed about riding.

Missed my girls.  I was in class and studying all weekend, so I didn't see them much.  I'll spend the day with them.

Good night.  Prayers for all who are in need.  Hope all tests give great results.  Just finished movie Mr. Brooks.  Had seen it once.  Earlier we watched Elizabeth, The Golden Age.   Was a TV afternoon.  Got cal from Youngest.  Had contractions all morning but had stopped.  Bet Grandmom hits the road tomorrow.  4Runner gased and ready.  Another boy.  Sleep tight.

Sir James - why are you complaining about the Lions?  They were the only team with a perfect record last year :)

Yup, I grew up in Michigan.  Family Thangsiving tradition was to have a TV on somewhere to watch the Lions loose.

Can't believe it !  Just finished typing a post, zap lost it !  Here is a summary, best I can remember....

Good Evening !

- Prayers for RT & Bob, tests and improvements, Sad about boy and 4 wheeler.

- SJ, gotta quit with the BLT's, I cant take it, too appetizing!

- Freezing corn, reminds me of youth, good stuff!!!

- Chief CA car is Grits Free !  from Hollywood, only knows TOFU

- Jon, gkids and fair, Best of Luck, are these previously showed animals ? or new ?  (Be careful w/Long Hot days !!!!!)

- Worked all weekend 5am to 4pm at swap meet,  Business for yourself can really stink at times, no chance of getting laid off, no unemployment benefits, etc..   (My own fault, I made the choice, can't complain, just have to work harder)

- Used Bullfrog Snot on Beep 3 days ago, still seems a little "tacky" will check more tomorrow, too tired today.  Maybe I put too much on in one application ???

- Can't think of other stuff,   Really Great SPF for sure !!

Best wishes to all !

Working Crew on a Dirt Car, Sounds like a great time !!!!!!!!

Edit :

Oh yeah, swap meet was at Orange County, you couldn't believe watching all the people!!!  My eyes are tingling from all the vertical movement today, absolutly boogeling!!  (Didn't get caught by SWMBO either, I don't think)  We will be going back to this venue, hopefully we will sell stuff next time.

Here ya go, Jim - put some rootbeer on it too :)

Had a flat tire on the van when we tried to pull out of the garage earlier.  Got the little compressor out and aired it, drove over to Walmart and got it fixed.  Then to Chilis for dinner, where I had the buffalo chicken fajita, yum!

Lawn is mowed and trimmed, need to talk to neighbor about his tree which is touching my house though.  Maybe tomorrow after work.

Tardis will be ready shortly, beacons on!  Laugh

Good evening all,

It was a cool cloudy day in SE Indiana.  Lucas did his share of the mowing for the last time this year.  His girlfriend was over for the last time before she moves to Brazil, Indiana.  Did weights at the YMCA, trimmed a maple tree, picked up sticks, and worked on the gas trimmer.  Went over to my dad's to watch the Indy car race.  Mr. Ashely Judd led every lap.  AJ's car was in the top 10 for awhile, but putzed a pass and later lost an engine.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  Beacon is lit.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C, from Indiana

Good Evening

At least you do not have to watch the Detroit Lions.

A chilly and rainy afternoon but granny and son stayed for the whole air show. I spent the afternoon with younger son, they fed me and I stayed a few hours. No trains today. Going to chat with Brutus and RT now. Banilla is ready so belly up to the bar.

Just sitting here watching the Indians game. They win one , lose one. "Maybe next year", is getting kind of stale. Looks like a whole new team. Except for a few, like Grady.

Hey Chuck, as a lifelong Phillies fan, Cliff Lee and I want to thank you.

You are welcome.  choke....choke.  he is a great pitcher.  You can have Eric Wedge too.  For 2 bucks.

Jon, Hiway 1 is a beauty, as long as it is all in one piece. My daughter and sil went to school up near the Oregon/Ca border and him being a real bicycling fan decided to ride home to S.D. at the end of his freshman year. Stll a fan but not that long a ride anymore. Smile

Hope all continues to go well for those battling issues. Angel

Evening all from beautiful Southern Ohio

Mid 70's low humidity and clear skies!  Really good services.  I heard several positive comments about my homily this weekend.  As I told them, it was all inspired from the Holy Spirit.

Kids "helped" me wash the camper.  We actually go some of the water on the camper!

Jim F - Thank you for the prayer intention.  The grandkids start school tomorow.  They are packing their back packs now.  Wow, time flies.

Jim T - I found the 290, & the 322 to run about the same.  For flat out speed the 300 or the 21160 will fly.  Not real good pullers due to their light weight, but they will scoot.

 May God bless

Jim

What a day.  In a nutshell--the boss had determined that we needed new privacy lattice work instead of the brand new last summer bigger lattice.  This 4 season room has turned into a HUGE money pit and that's sorta OK because it really is looking nice, however, what should have easily been a two hour job today turned into a six hour job because SWMBO determined that the lattice needed to go a certain way which meant 8 more cuts and a trip to Lowes, I will not go back to Menards.  Happily, there were actually workers at Lowes that offered to help me, WONDERFUL!!!!  So, at the end this day I am enjoying an adult beverage and listening to the Cubs post game show, another miracle, the Cubs won.  Landscapers again tomorrow and will be here all week, I may have to post a pic of what's going on if I can find the strength.  The really good news is that I did add a new Makita circular saw and Bosch drill to the tool inventory Thumbs Up

The weather here has been fantastic, bright blue skies with low humidity.  I have had my USA maps out the last several days, thinking about next summer on the bike.   Glacier Nat. Park, Oregon, Washington and possibly Alaska certainly have my attention.  Instead of Alaska going down to CA on HWY 1 looks awfully nice................ Still have the east coast tour on the radar.

Chuck,

It sounds like the Indians are the same as the Pirates.Sign - Oops As soon as they get some decent players, they are traded.

Work was crazy today. I had a customer come over to me and tell me that a cleanup was needed by the meat case.  The subject of the cleanup was, let's just say, something that shouldn't ever be on the floor in a grocery store.Dead I'll leave it at that.  Luckily, that is not my responsibility since I am in the dairy/frozen department.

Then, I had more excitment on the drive home. As I was coming up the street the neighbor with the Cobalt decides to go about 35-40MPH in reverse down her driveway, and she doesn't even bother to check if the path is clear. If the Sunfire didn't have antilock brakes, it would have been in pieces.

Good afternoon all, Brutus, sorry for your co workers loss.  Tragic situation and a loss for his family and the service.  Put in a request to buy GG1 shell I saw on the internet.  Still waiting for answer from seller.  Went to mass this morning with group of friends at church followed by a Sunday Brunch at Marie Callendars.  Close friend's wife who is confined to a wheel chair was able to make it after a long absence from such events.  Good for her.  Ran trains in garage yesterday in spite of heat.  Felt like coming out of a sauna when I got through.  Don't think I will do that again today.  Might run some trains tonight if it cools off a little.

Later, Ray

Sunny, low 80's here.

Got a little time yesterday afternoon for the trains.  Expected to have to troubleshoot and re-program the Legacy after the previous session's adventures.  Was pleasantly suprised that everything came up and ran as it should - the problems cured themselves!

Went racing last night.  I'm pit crew for my friend's limited late model dirt track car.  New engine runs well, the suspension set up changes helped with the handling.  On the down side, the left side of the car took some abuse, worse, one of the impacts was to the front wheel, which spun the steering wheel in the driver's hands and dislocated his pinkie.  Ouch!  He went to the emergency room, had it set and finally got home at 5am.

Getting some insperation from SPF and making plans for improvements for the Ping-Pong Plains division of the Katy Central.  It will take some time but not too much in materials.

Later.

Good Afternoon from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 78 degrees. No rain predicted, but it looks like it wants to.

Just sitting here watching the Indians game. They win one , lose one. "Maybe next year", is getting kind of stale. Looks like a whole new team. Except for a few, like Grady.

No train time today. Been looking thru the new CTT mag. A lot of interesting items. Another good issue month.

Enjoyed SPF, as usual. That's the highlight of my Sundays.

Dining car was here for the usual breakfast. Cheerios.

I hope y'all are having a great Sunday.

Afternoon all.  Sunday School and then Home Depot.  Ordered a free rug as HD messed up carpet install, notified them numerous times, we pulled it up and re-did hardwoods.  HD gave us a gift card worth more than their special order 8' X 10' rug for formal dinning room.  Real cloudy and looks like rain any minute.  Train time I guess.  Forecasters missed it again.

No word from Fifey.  Hope he did not try to sail in this weather.

Disappointed.  They canceled the tropical storm warnings for MA.  Was trying to send Rockisland [Jack] some much needed rain. Laugh  Last time I talked to him, he could not keep up with the grass due to rains.

Need to look over my new CTT.  Chat later.

Good morning!

Had some sad news yesterday morning as a friend/co-worker's son was seriously injured on an ATV right in front of the other kids and he passed away at about 3AM yesterday morning.  He had just passed through USMC basic training, but was on leave with the family.

We have some family visiting and had a birthday party yesterday for my daughter.  She had a good day, but she is upset because the new tv I bought for my game systems is in my son's room Banged Head  I suspect I will be buying another tv, even though it's not a tv for my son (really), but he's the one who will probably use it the most.  Pretty small beans though, compared to others' troubles.

Missed bidding on a Percy loco and it sold for $76 on the bay, of course.  But, as SJ said, if I had bid on it it would have gone higher, lol.

Continued prayers for RT, Bob, JimSP's family and all in need!  Gotta get moving and the lawn hasn't been mowed in 2 weeks due to all the rain - yikes!  I'll be back!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Still getting light rain.  Reclinerized for a few.  Now off to bed.

Doug M, they grow up fast.  Seems just recently they were little ones.

Jon, wind must have been blowing east.  Thought I smelt someone grilling out.

Fifey has not posted. Hope he is not sailing because with the wind and waves he would be SAILING.

Off to bed.  Forgot to read my new CTT.  Sleep tight.

PS: forgot.  Sowed trunips before I left for the lake.  With the nice showers, they are up.

Brutus,

           Continued prayers for your wife.

Bob,

         Any progress on the 302?

Jim,

Should the top speed of a 322 be closer to a 290 or a 312? My 322 has a top speed similar to bothh of my 290s, and  I am curious if that is normal.

I got some time to run the 322 on the second level before I left for work this afternoon, and it runs much better now. I worked 4PM-10PM tonight, then they scheduled me for tomorrow morning.Banged Head Because of that, I have to do laundry tonight.  I'll get the Talking Station installed while I am waiting for the washer to finish.

Fairly busy day today and went pretty well. Ran a number of errands. I think I have spent more time food shopping in the last few months than in my entire life previously. It's not so much that I'm eating a heck of a lot more (more often anyway), but I really have to think about what I eat. Managed to get some of the yard work done after it cooled off and before it got too dark. Talked to mom after she got out of the hospital (a family thing?) and she is doing well. She had some of the same tests, once again not heart related, but I guess they start there for good reason.

Had a long talk w/ a friend who will be up in Nevada next week. Gave her a few pointers on the area and told her I hoped she got to see and smell the #'s 40 and 93 at the Nevada Northern RR.

Oh, and I ate 3 pieces of multi-grain bread today (not at the same time) and did fine all around. First bread I've had in almost 2 months. Pasta seems to be out for the time being, but I'll take what I can get.

Was reading the table setup for the retro railroad in CTT and I like the design. I was thinking of leaning that way since the layout will be in the front room and on display most of the time.

Brutus - I'll be smiling as I'm offering more prayers and giving thanks tomorrow

Night all

Back from Niece's 3yr bday party.  Jack fell asleep for the night on the drive home.

I'll mow the yard tomorrow.  It looks like I have some type of red fungus on the grass too.  My shoes are all red when I walk through it.  A bunch of yards all over the neighborhood have splotchy patches of red like I do.  Anyone know if fungicide lawn feed will fix it?

All ready for york.  Now I just have to decide what I want to buy while I'm there...

Good night,

Wes

Good Evening

Well it stayed overcast and chilly but the ladies ate and did their chatting on the patio. Some chose the see the trains run and were impressed. SIL came and grilled for them, I did my best to stay out of the way and then put things away after. It was still light so I cut the grass. Bottom line, all went well.

Brutus me and the banilla are ready, come on by...S.J.

Good evening all,

It was a cloudy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s.  We made local soccer history today as one of our youth games was broadcast on the local radio station.  The "saucy wench" listened to the game and enjoyed the commentary.  After the game, I did weights at the YMCA and mowed my section of the yard.  AJ's team had a rough day at Infineon, starting 16th. I had a little extra on the dining car this morning for breakfast.  Beacon is lit.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Greetings from the Heartlands on a Saturday night, I've been away from the computer since Wednesday night (if I remember right) and so I'm back.  Was helping oldest son for 48 hours and then returned last night to a full day of work today (landscaping/backbreaking/hauling/etc.) here.  Feels good to work hard and sweat, the steak on the grill will help diminish the pain.  Chief caught me at the man store this afternoon and that was wonderful, I really dislike Menards and he helped soothe my frustration.

Working hard on the layout right now, trying to get it into top shape for more visitors, very enjoyable work Thumbs Up

Brutus--FANTASTIC news, prayers do work.

More tomorrow!
