Good afternoon all, went to TCA Western Division meet in Arcadia today. Meeting was well attended and a parts dealer showed up with lots of stuff for sale. I did not win any of the raffle prizes but just bought a deli sandwich. All of the other stuff, I have seen before and was still there at the same price. Our operating layout man did not come today so we had no trains running. Decided not to sell anything myself until later in the year. I had one inquiry over the internet about a Williams Brass Scale N&W class J that I have. Sent pictures and price but no deal. Talked with a friend at the meet who drove from California to the Convention in Chicago and back, stopping in Nashville on the way back. Don't think I could drive that much any more. Weather here today feels like Virginia Beach in the summer. Hot and sticky and might rain tonight. We could use some.
Brutus, RT et al, glad to hear your good news on the health front. Thanks for the comments about my good health news.
Have a nice week end,

Low 80's and sunny here. The Mo. State Fair is winding down. Tomorrow is the last day.
Been busy the last few nights and my son is home, so computer time is not as abundant as it usually is.
Brutus, RT, Ray, Bob - great news on all of your medical projects.
Anjdevil - congrats on your 20th anniversary.
Ran some trains the other night. Confused the Legacy somehow. Had one train parked on a siding, and thought I switched over to the train on the main line. Suprise! The train I thought was parked was through the turnout and running on the mainline head on to the train I thought I was running. Hit the e-stop and got everything stopped just in time. Somehow in this turn of events, the sound system in the Texas Special quit working. Haven't sorted it out yet. I expect I'll have to re-load some software.
My friend's race car engine got back from the re-builder this week. Was out at his place last night helping prep the car for tonight's race. Ran through the cam break in sequence. Probably won't do well in the hearing tests at work this week after that - 450 hp through almost muffled headers inside of a metal pole barn.
Later.
Good afternoon,
Not much happening today. Weather is damp and muggy. Local Fair starts on Monday and runs all week, just up the road from our house. Will be there several days to see grandkids show animals and to help at the church food stand.
On the train front, all is calm, haven't done much all Summer.
Good news Jim F.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Finally got caught up on the Pot. Wonderful rain yesterday and a pretty good electrical storm. Got caught in it on the way back from campus and it was actually pretty nice. On the health front, the prilosec seems to be helping. Starting to experiment w/ the diet a bit. Seems there are still a few things that set the blood sugar off, so I'll be watching that. I'll be studying up before the class in Sept.
Brutus - Great news!!!! We'll be keeping the prayers coming!
RT- good luck w/ your sleep test and keeping an eye on the vitals
Ray - glad to hear your good news! Apparently all this medical stuff does work!
Back to the 'scope on Tuesday for the first time in a while. Will be nice to get back. Hopefully all will go well. Spend the weekend trying to finish up things around the house.
Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Saturday Morning...
Got back from Vegas 2 AM Friday spent all day Friday trying to clean up the mess I was left. I have no boss now, so it's all on me....wonderful.
My son decided that the termite inspector needed to be here at 8 AM - so no sleep for me.....
2 1/2 days in Vegas was nice. I rented a '09 Challenger, which I LOVED, saw the mountains, got to 109f and felt not too bad. Only lost $40. Wife had a nice visit with her friend. The Venetian rooms were wonderful. Nice 20th Anniversary...
I walked back to page 30, so I'm sorta caught up, may venture back later....

Morning Folks,
Busy week at school with teachers back, Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, Open House on Friday evening. Students start on Tuesday. It's always exciting to start a new school year. It's so cool watching the little ones come in toting their new book bags and lunch boxes. Some of the book bags are almost as big as the kids.
Going to a memorial service today for a cousin that died. It will be a busy day on the road. Need to get started on cleaning up and getting dressed.
Take care,
MItch

Morning all from Beautiful Southern Ohio
Jim F - Great news
Fife - You are almost at 3000 posts!
Jim T - Sounds like she has a few more miles on her.
I am going to cut more grass, work in the garden and work on the camper today. After being in the camper for a week we noticed things that could be improved so we started a punch list. Nothing big, just little conviences.
May God bless
Jim
Good luck with everything Brutus...
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Muggy, soggy and 75 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna take the fifelings to Hagerstown outlets for some back-to-school shopping. NAUTICA store, here I come! Cards with da boys tonight. Hope to go sailing early tomorrow with a buddy and his kids. The tall ship DANMARK is leaving the Inner Harbor at 0900, and would love to go out and sail alongside her. All depends on weather.
Brutus - Let's keep that good news a-comin'...
SirJames - Just a hug Come on in for the real thing, hero boy...
Congratulations Jim...Doesn't it feel great when they call and say they have a match! Good luck during the procedure.
Great News Jim !!!!!
Tardis will be doing Barrel Rolls and Loop-Da-Loops Tonight for Sure !!
Got to run, I'm going down the street to make sure the "entertainment" will be available tonight for the big celebration.
Don
We got some great news today - one of my wife's sisters was an 80+ percent match, so we are good to go! Just have to wait on insurance and then do the procedure as soon as possible! This is just the best news we have had so far - so relieved! Tardis is ready so let's go, rounds are all on me tonight
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Banks,
I don't have any experience with Gilbert HO.
I got the Flyer loops on the second level done today. After that, I took the motor apart in the 322 Hudson that I bought last month. I am glad I did. The first thing that I noticed was that the commutator was badly fouled (think solid black instead of shiny copper), and the slots between the segments were totally clogged. The next thing that I noticed was that the armature bearing in the brushplate was out of its hole and just laying on the armature shaft. To make matters worse, the brushes that were there were the slotted type instead of the proper shouldered type, and the springs were stretched and burnt. All of these problems wouldn't normally bother me, but the seller stated that this 322 was "fully serviced", and it hasn't seen anything more than a very short test run in the month that has passed since he sold it to me. Thankfully, I had new brushes and springs on hand, and I got the bearing back in place. I bought a 632 LNE Hopper to help myself feel better.
Hello all,
Heading to bed soon. Freezing corn is tomorrows agenda.
Jim, The HO smoke units are the same as the ones in the smaller S loco's (I've been told) They don't come apart with screws. There is a section on the Port Lines site that describes how to repair them. I was hoping some one here had dealt with them. I think I will try some of that A1 smoke.
Good night all
Prayers for all who may need them

Good Evening
78 and breezy today.
I ran some trains, we had our fri. out supper and I put out a fire in the neighbors plastic garbage can, Was watching the football game with the patio door open and smelled smoke that was something burning. Since it was strong enough to be close I went outside and saw the fire. I put the fire out and then told the neighbor what happened. Teenage daughter burnt some chicken and toss it all in the garbage. I did a good deed and got a hug so it was worth it.
Banilla and a few cupcakes are ready for our evening trip, root beer too...........S.J.
Well put a big hole in my train money today went to go get an oil change and found out that I needed tires ( all 4) 2 were starting to show wire on inside of tread and the rear 2 were showing signs of dry rotting the tires were 9 years old but the truck is only 6 but think somewhere someone put some old tires on it before I got it as the tires looked good on when I got it. also needed a alignment real bad so there went a big bite into train money and I still need to replace the breaks need to check around for that.
well not much else happening did get a $50.00 gift certificate off the radio the other day to use at a tool & supply store so used it to help buy a dremel which I really needed so the dremel ended up only costing me $12.60 lol
Hope all doing well will talk again probably tomorrow or Sunday have a good week end as normal I have to work but thats fine I can get more done off during the week

Good evening,
The parts came yesterday for the pond filter, and I installed them this morning. It sure was a HOT job. Not long after I finished, we got another storm, this time with some fierce winds, before the rain started. Spent most of the afternoon on the reclliner.
Have a good weekend.
Evening all,
Bride working another night shift and gkids at the other gparents tonight. Just finished supper and catching up on the pot. Going to get some grass cut as it is to rain Saturday.
Jim F - Special prayer for your bride tonight.
Good Morning guys,
Things kinda quiet on the western front. Going to have a power outage today due to "maintenance" somewhere, according to So. Cal. Edison. No big deal goind to be working all day anyway.
Had Wednesday off work and spent the day working on wiring, also used some of the "Bullfrog Snot" on a Beep engine. The stuff applied pretty easy, just put the engine upside down in a cradle and applied power to it. Ran the engine at a slow speed and applied the goop with a small paint brush. It applied smoothly and began to setup almost immediately. The wheel had a small groove in it about 0.040 " deep. While it was still wet, I used an exacto knife and made sure theire wasn't any excess on it. Then ran the engine at a slow speed for about 15 minutes to make sure it was evenly distributed. Then have let the engine "cure" for a day or so. The stuff has turned a dark emerald green, and looks just like a green tire. Now to see how it performs.
Signed up for another show this weekend, 2 days. Hopefuly we will do some good. Not looking forward to it but not really any other way.
So hope everyone has a good day, and take care.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 73 degrees. Going up to 84 today, with a few showers.
Today is busy. I have a few errands to run, and then, some chores around the house. Maybe some train time later.
Buckeye.......TGIF
Dining car was here and we had the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Sunny and breezy. Got the windows open, low 80s today.
A shut out! sounds to me like they could use some help.
BLTs this morning, love the fresh garden food, another reason to hate winter.
A long chat with Brutus and RT last nite, then we jumped in the Tardis and picked everyone up. TTFN...S.J.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in high 70s/low 80s. Wednesday night I took "Victory " drinks to the soccer teams. I also did weights and a little track work at the YMCA. Thursday "the saucy wench" and I went to the State Fair, where we saw Olivia Smiley and Main Street perform two sets of bluegrass music. We also saw some of the exhibits. Last night was the first 'official' game under the lights for soccer. "My" soccer girls lost 8-0 in the JV game and 6-1 in the varsity match. The boys tied on the road 1-1. After the game, the people who print the shirts for the boys team handed me one, and said it was free as long as I showed up for the games. They even put my name on the back of it. I had the regular fare on the dining car with an extra donut this morning for breakfast. Thanks for the late pickup on the Tardis after the games as I did not get home until after 9 PM. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning all!
Dennis: A hand written note to your local official telling him/her why you will vote against them is always a good idea.
Bride canning tomatoes today! Looks like a nice day in store, maybe some trains.
Kurt
Mornin' boys. Thunderstorms likely and 86 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Last night of night work tonight. Got my CTT yesterday, and noticed that Hi-Rail John and WSDimenna had photos published.
Phish - Apparently the skeetos like the sweet meat towards the crease in the legs behind the knees...
dwiemer - Two observations: 1) A lot of good, well-intentioned folks serve on school boards across the nation. 2) A percentage of them wind up on the front page of their local newspaper when indicted...
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI after the morning showers. Too late to post much as I have a lot to tell. Will fill in details on a good day next morning. I had a donut in addition to the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast. Got the latest CTT. Near perfect issue in my humble opinion (explain why later). Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Worn out today - getting up an hour earlier now that school has started. But, as it turns out I will be getting off work a bit earlier too, which is welcome. No trains today, just got home and took a nap, ate dinner and watched part two of The Hogfather with my daughter. Talking with RT and SJ though - solving the problems of the world
Tardis will be ready shortly, after prayers and good nights with the kiddos. JimSP - my wife is doing pretty well today. She had a transfusion yesterday, but they let her get pretty low this time. Her boss gave her a day off today, which was nice.
