Dennis,
I hear you about having too much stuff. I noticed the same problem as I was moving the trains from the basement to the living room this past spring. My room is a whole other story. I've got trains, about every game system made in the last ten years, service manuals, TV, laptop, and second gen Probe parts everywhere. Why stop buying now though?
I haven't had time to post this week due to work. I am off this weekend, so I need to do more work on the layout. I need to secure the second level, cut some access holes, and install ground cover. I went to the LHS on Tuesday and bought seven rolls of Life Like Grass Paper. They had a set of three Flyer 650 passenger cars in green for a good price, but I was able to ignore that voice in my head...for now.
Good Evening
A nice warm day in the low 80s.
Had a summer supper, Hamburger from the grill, mac & cheese, and garden veggies. Just had desert, banilla, choco syrup and peanuts. No trains today just want to soak in whats left of summer. Beacon is on and banilla is ready...S.J.
Doug, Toledo has a very nice zoo. Lots to see in easy walking distance for each. Enough to fill an afternoon. See one this time the other another time.

I'm not completely sure on the story about the foam roadbed. The dealer mentioned that Walther's can't get it anymore, so therefore, he can't get it for me. I don't want to take your stock Kurt, but I will buy it from you if you don't have a need for it. I probably need 7 or 8 feet. I'll measure tomorrow to make sure.
The columbus zoo is awesome on wednesday family nights. If you are every going to go to a zoo, go in the evening. That is when all of the aminals come out. They either want to eat, or just woke up, but I see more animals on the wednesday family nights than any other. We usually go every Wednesday. I think that there are only 1 more of those family nights left for the summer. I have been to the SD zoo, and it is nice too. I think the landscaping is what sets it apart from the rest. They have an escalator that goes up the hillside. That was pretty cool.
Have a good one!Wes
Wes,
There was some of the boxed WS foam roadbed on ebay last week. I think it is still there.
Couldn't play XBOX360 tonigh as son is grounded Watched some episodes of Monk from dvd. RT shared some train related pictures with me, but that was about it for trains today. Want to run Thomas some more. A buddy gave me some quick connect wire pieces from an old computer so I can put wires between Annie and Clarabel that can be "unhooked" easily. I made the tether on Thomas long engouh that I can hold both him and ANnie in one had, side to side. Another car would be a problem though.
TARDIS is ready and I'll pick up 8nTruck on the way guys - let's go!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. It is amazing sometimes how one day (or night in this case) can change your viewpoint. Before anyone takes the last statement the wrong way :-), let me note that I am discussing "my" soccer girls. All during the summer, I have been going to the practices and helping out wherever I was needed, but not really seeing any glimpse of a chance of winning any games this season. While it was just an intra-squad scrimmage last night, I saw fire, I saw passion, I saw playmaking and scoring, and I saw soccer the way it was supposed to be played. Unfortunately, I am the "incurable optimist" and sometimes I so desparately want to see something to happen that I think it does, and maybe last night was just a "flash in the pan", but I really, really hope that last night was a portent of good things that will happen.
I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning for breakfast before sending it to "Points East". Patrick, you thought the 10 minutes was short, but there were others with less time than you. They were on and off before most people knew they were even there. Beacon is lit, but I am not driving tonight. Too many Buffy episodes to watch. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin’!!!
TGIF and Vacation Eve....should be interesting....
Had Orange Tree for dinner last night, had to shop for the cats. Needed food and litter, so that was taken care of.
8NTruck – welcome back!
Dennis – in Mel’s absence, I’ll fill in the details. This all starts at 9AM today. There will be a motorcade from NAS JAX to the downtown Veterans Memorial Wall, where there will be a short tribute. The motorcade will proceed to Forrest High School, the Methodist church where Capt Spiecher went, on to (NAS) Cecil Field, where he was stationed, then on to burial in Orange Park. There will be live coverage of the event on www.Jacksonville.com
I, too have the affliction, I’m tripping over stuff in the train room and the garage is still stuffed. Most of it is store stock (I’m waiting for the Christmas holiday to start and maybe a train show...), but I have my own items out there as well.
HOT and VERY HUMID again today, so it’ll be tough working outside today.
I’ll check back later!

Good Morning
Sunny and 80s today
No plans for the day, but I do like to say howdy.
Enjoy the weekend.....S.J.
Good morning,
Sitting on my recliner using the netbook to make this post. Jean is working this morning till 10 so I am waiting for her to get home, then we will head out for our normal Friday shopping trip & lunch.
Looks like our train station rehab is on hold again due to the states budget deadlock.
After a very rainy Summer we are still .3 inches short on rain for the year, Winter & Spring were very dry.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 72 degrees. Going up to 84 today, with sunshine all day.
Today is an easy day. I will do a few chores, and then relax in the train room, this afternoon. I have to do some dusting and things.
Dining car was here for breakfast. Cheerios.
Buckeye....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.

Rich, thanks for posting details about the funeral procession. I am busy trying to install Microsoft Office for small business v.2003. on our computer. We now have the Vista .64, but every time the program is started, it comes up with a "user agreement". We are working on the fix, but first go around did not take. Problem is that Kim is using a transcription program that needs MS. Office Word and the user agreement messes up the downloads.
Jon, neat list on the zoos in the country. Looking forward to the Disney Animal Kingdom as we will be staying in the lodge there when we do the "land and sea" cruise in a month. I also intend to someday take in the Columbus Zoo and take Chuck up on his offer when I get a meeting in the Ohio area.
Chief, hope things are quiet up that way so that you can enjoy the nice weather by the lake. All that work you have done up there deserves a little time for R&R.
Better get back to the computer fix. I have to leave soon to go to a cross raising at our sister church Mt. Zion. It is a predominantly black church, but we have a very family orientation with them as their preacher comes to our church, ours goes there, and our choirs swap around too. Both congregations benefit from it. God Bless, and have a great weekend.Dennis

Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Hazy & 80 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Oldest princess flew the nest last night. Conditions are now ripe for tidey-whitey domination. Wifey has mixed emotions ...not about the whities, about Princess. Younger princesses are not wasting any time. They have already picked out a new color for their bedroom (Isle of Capri blue), and are waiting for the long-promised flat-screen tv. If they could bolt their door too, they would.
Hello all.
Busy week. Put over 16 hours on tractor during last weekends Church Festival Hayride. Earned $600.00 plus at $0.50 per ride
Went to the Wings of Freedom Tour after work yesterday at the local airport. There was a WWII B-17, B-24 and a P-51. Got to walk through the bombers. Simply amazing. Listened to a veteran tell of flying 24 missions in a B-24. Another talked of being on the ground crew of a B-17. several other were there I thanked them all.
For a donation of $400.00 +/- you could take a flight in the bombers several did. I overheard a woman asking an elderly man if he would be ok with flying in them. "I don't care if I'm all right or not. I'm going" was the reply. I stayed to watch them take off. It was Great

Found a hard to find (at a reasonable price) Gilbert HO 31013 Industrial Transfer switcher on Ebay. It was at a very good Buy It Now price. Nabbed it quick. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Impatiently waiting for it to arrive.
Hill climb this weekend.
Brutus and Bob, what's the latest?

Home from the lake. Grass mowed. 2X6's 16' long were still under my carport. So, I loaded one at a time on golf cart [ran it through by passenger's seat and into glovebox, my back seat folds over to make a flat double wide carrier, and across back seat] and took it to dock [as path to get to dock is golf cart wide]. Took two trips as did not want to "over do" it. Now they are screwed to the dock section. See, two of the guys were going to take care of that while I was gone. HUMMM That was all the work I did. Lucy and I rode around a lot. Now to change and go to Town Hall. The big National Night Out [PD thingy] was posponed due to the big T'storm the other evening.
8ntruck Back from Finland. Getting rid of jet lag and catching up on the Pot. Gonna take a while, as I haven't read it fro two weeks! I'll post a few photos soon. Had a great trip, but I'm glad to be home where it gets dark at night.

Good morning all, this has been a week of service people coming to our house and it's not over yet. We got a new patio gate installed and painted. Had our bathtub refinished. Now waiting on plumber to fix leak from faucet in tub. Time Warner cable man coming today to check out why TV picture is acting up and also bring new remote control. Lastly I took my MTH ACL E6 diesel set in to service center for repair. Hoping it won't cost more than the thing is worth. We had a not so regular anymore Thursday night operating and bull session at my layout last night. One guy who talks me into having a meeting shows up very late at night. We wound up staying until past midnight and destroyed my morning today for getting up early for my walk. I guess I don't have patience anymore. Anyway had a big debate over wheather or not to fix touch up paint job on a Lionel diesel. Consensus was that the risk was greater than the potential improvement. You can't even see the touched up ding from three feet away. I need to unload some of my trains to make room and start a fund for train repairs in the future. Missed TTOS Southwestern Division annual picknick at L. A. Live Steamers last week end. One member posted some nice pictures though on an E mail.. TCA meet coming up one week from tomorrow in Arcadia. I'll try to make that one.
D Baker, glad you are with us again. Had a question while you were gone about the bullfrog snot as to wheather it would fill in the groove on MTH steam engines or not?
Got to run some trains now before it gets hot,

good afternoon all. Went to the church "capping" ceremony I mentioned earlier. Then came to work. Have had a patient on a special machine that keeps the heart going in the hopes that the body gets better enough that we can operate and fix the heart. He took a downward turn and we pulled the pump today. Pretty much a death sentence, but the efforts otherwise are futile. No matter how long I have been in this business, it is still hard when our best efforts are not good enough and we must leave it to a higher authority.
Got two extra cases added, so I'll be busy tonight. Was hoping to get home, but that ain't happening. Oh well. I do have some ideas for scenery and hope to be on that this weekend, but alas, other priorities must be done first...read that, what ever the honey do list is comes before the trains.
Gotta run.

Another beautiful summer day.
Lets see, what did I do today. Hmm mostly nothing. I guess thats it, just enjoying summer. The Tardis could be a little late tonite so I will keep the banilla on ice..S.J.
Pat, Marty Stuart, Johnny Cash, Crystal gayle, yep I am a country music fan. BUT I don't know any of the newer stars, very seldom turn the radio on anymore.
Evening fellas...just got home from the Columbus Clippers minor league baseball game. First time at the new park. It is truly very nice. Went with Jack and the wife. He actually seemed very interested in baseball and what everyone was doing.
My parents come up tomorrow, and the wife's parents come up on Sunday. There is a cruise-in on Sunday that I want to get to. Hopefully I'll get a chance.
Have a good one!
Wes
Evening all
We got home from vacation this afternoon. The camper is unloaded and the laundry is started. I will go back and catch up. Hopfully Jack will have a couple of summeries!
May God bless

Good night guys - running late for sure. Missed out on Percy on Ebay, somebody paid about $11 more than I was willing to pay, oh well. TV we had all the videogames on has a bad tube now - picked up a new one for about $250. It's a Visio or Vizio? I think my folks have a couple of these. This one is 24 inches and 1080p. Need to hit the hay soon - prayers for all that need them!
Tardis is ready, but I need to make it an early night as need to get up at 5 AM, so Mike can drive and we'll use the wayback circuit to make up some time! 3-2-1, Blastoff!
Finally had some time to get into the trainroom tonight to do some work. I found the cordless drill I've been looking for - in the trainroom - where I needed it - but when I went to use it... no power! . So put it on the charger and will try to get the feeders completed tomorrow so I can finally get the tunnels inspected and get Doug's car off to John (I know I'm now two weeks late) may also get Jon's car's pics taken and get that off to John early.Have the truck loaded up so I can make a run to the dump early tomorrow morning. Hope to get 3 trips done tomorrow so I can start using the parking pad on the driveway. Also hope to get some more siding up around the roof and get the trim boards painted so I can get them hung and finish the siding on Sunday. Lots to do. Order status on the windows says they'll be in on Wednesday next week... kinda hope not because then I will have to install them next weekend and I don't think my helpers are available... we'll see.
Reclinerized too long. Off to bed. BTW: Jack is around but is busy with new Granddaughter and also helping a friend [one whose wife was killed in bad accident several months ago].
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 66 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Boy is off for football 2-a-days, ladies are off to Kings Dominion. Today might be better sailing day, wind wise.
OK, been given the orders for the day. Have to build the shelf for the keyboard so that it matches the existing desk/shelf unit. Also have to work on the program for counting the words typed. I fixed one problem that it was not able to use Office Word as it kept coming up with the user agreement. Now, the program doesn't want to work because Office and Works are both loaded on the same system. It wants me to delete Works....yeah right! May have to shop around for another counting program.
Later, we have the heart team swim party. Should be fun as everyone from anesthesia to the fine folks in the cath lab are invited. Just hope the rain holds off. Later this afternoon, we have to go out to the church's sports park as we have a presentation from the school. Lots of activities for the kids too.
I better get going as I want to do a few things with the layout. Hope everyone has a great day.
Dennis
Another sunny morning going close to 90.
Cereal for breakfast, I prefer eggs but I guess thats not a good idea anymore. I am driving my wife to one of her nieces today for a house warming about an hour & 45 each way. I wouldn't mind but most of it is on a very busy two lane hwy. One old guy wearing a cap can have a mile of traffic behind him. Did you ever notice they are always wearing a cap.
Have a great weekend...S.J.
Morning all. Warm and extra humid. Weatherperson said Thursday night, dry air pushing in and driving moist air out to sea. Well it rained yesterday and looks like it could dump any minute. I think they flip a coin to do forecasts. Had Daylight Donuts cream filleds for breakfast. Lots of coffee.
Fifey, may you always have wind in your sails.
Patrick, are the cows standing or lying down? Best weather forecaster. Lying down means bad weather. Standing means fair.
Off to Miss Edna's [Todd's] with bags of tomatoes. Tomatoes are getting tough skinned from the past weeks heat. We hit tripple digits a few days and then high nineties. Average temp for this time of the year is 88.
Have a good one.
