Jim....That is such GREAT news....congratulations. I know the joy and relief when they called me and said we have a Kidney match for you. How soon can you get to the hospial. When this is all past history for the two of you and your familiy(s) you will not believe how great everyone feels! Will a bone marrow transplant require the usual anti-rejection drug regime? Anyway, congratulations. Fingers are crossed and prayers being said for a quick approval and you guys can get back to a "normal" life!!

It is now exactly 12:01 AM pacific time. That means I get to be the first to say....TGIF!

Enjoy the day everyone! Ain't it great to be alive!

Just got some evening rain. Very nice. More phone tag fun w/ the doc's office today. Was at another appointment and missed it. Yesterday? You guy's will love this. Was watching one of the "From the Earth to the Moon" episodes and the phones sounded just like my antique, especially when the cooler is running. Try again tomorrow. Also going to give the ol' gastroenterologist a call and see what he thinks of all this.

Jack - that was a heck of a story!

Brent - had to chuckle over the German inlaw thing. The scope was built by the Max Planck Institute and we were 50/50 w/ them when I started. Theyr'e great, but interesting.

Dennis - my surgeon friend bounced a few of her ideas off me yesterday. One of these little crossword- puzzle-champion medical terms had symptoms that sounded way too familiar. And you may have been on the mark about the endocrinologist. If you have a little time I'd love to get your thoughts.

Brutus - good news! Hope the tests all work out!

Pat - I'll sign off w/ another Maine expression: Never let a lobsterman hit you with his right hand

Evenin' All.

Great news Jim, Thumbs Up, Angel

Charlie, A belated Happy B-Day.

Brent, Enjoy the weekend but please don't change the story line to "Throw Momma From The Train". Clown

Spent a great day just wandering around "The Wild Animal Park", thought of Fife at one of the areas. Must have been 40 to 50 Flamingoes at one of the lakes.

No museum tomorrow, taking a day away.

Banks, sounds like a good find on ebay!

Buckeye - Chuck would have a Lake House then, right?

Probe - good luck on the AF search!

Nice chat tonight with SJ, Doug and Charlie.  Missed RT, but got an email Smile

I stopped on the way home tonight and found some rc servo wire harness that will give me some good wire for my tether, thanks Roger!  Also some 2 conductor wire to possibly put an LED lamp on Thomas!

We had some Excellent News today - one of the sisters is a match for my wife on the registry so they sent her a laboratory kit to do the Big Test on her.  If she passes, then we are cooking with oil and they will send all the results with a request to proceed with the bone marrow transplant - keep the prayers going, because they are showing definite results, thank God.

Tardis is fueled and ready on the pad!  I thought we'd fly over the base of the LEM tonight and check it out?  Here goes!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Jack,

I think you forgot a step. After placing the dog in the car, move the car into the sun. This will get things good and hot for maximum effect.

Brent,

As someone also of German descent, I know what you mean about being stubborn and bullheaded. We can't help it!Big Smile I read what you said about Susan and your mother getting along very well together. I am not married, but from what I can tell, I think I'd be worried if I was in your shoes.ShockWink

Charlie,

            Happy B-Day

Today started out bad for me. Last night, I saw a beautiful Flyer 490 diesel on ebay. I was going to buy it this morning, but someone beat me to it.Disapprove Now, I have become determined to find a nice Flyer SIB 322 Hudson before Christmas. I'd like to get a Flyer 332AC or 336 Northern, but they are always too expensive for me. Tomorrow, I will put some plywood on the basement floor so I can try out some of my ideas for a trackplan. I might go to the antique stores in the area to see if they have any Flyer stuff.  I spent tonight fishing for two hours, then I went in the pool.

Evening all

I am about ready to go back to work and rest up!

I went up to meet with the new pastor of the parishes and ended up canging out the garbage disposal.  I guess that also falls under the job description of Deacon.  We did go over many things.  I think our parishes are really blessed again with a wonderful priest.

Jack - Loved the story!  It conjured up a mental image that was priceless!

Fife - Must of missed you ate the hardware store.  The garbage disposal took the raditional three trips to the store.

Got to go

May God bless

Jack....White wine is also best for parties.

SJ.....Another laptop guy?

Mmmmm.........24 hours and no Chief.  Nice, very nice.  Of course, it is 92 degrees, hot and humid in Roseyville and all the hound dogs are under the porch in the cool dirt.

Ummm... I guess you failed to read the part where I stated 'I'm going with The 'Q' and my parents'... all they are interested in is dinner and the murder mystery, the train ride is for me. I will have no other train related activities this weekend... sorry my father will enjoy the train ride as well, but we will be with two german women - stubborn, bull headed, gotta have it their way women = german. What my father and I find amazing is they get a long very, very, well... for female inlaws it is a miracle! LOL!

Jack - white wine for the guests, red wine for the hosts (makes the guests more tolerable) Wink

Buckeye - now you're calling the Chief a hound dog! There isn't anything wrong with a Southern man lying under the porch in the cool dirt - it's called a bath! Big Smile

jack another solution to tool box. when you get new tools for the 2000th time get a new lock this time give wife key to old lock and when she can't get in and son can't get tools say I thought I gave you a key are you sure your key don't work well I must of thrown out the wrong key I get one made as soon as I can. (which never happens and you keep wife and son out of tool box) . I use to have same problem except no kids would be wife needing a screw driver or hammer and then puts them up somewhere like kitchen draw that is full of junk or under sink in cabinet theredon't ask me why I have no idea niether does she. Confused

well not much happening. will drop in later I hope lol

Prayers for all that need them.

Good Afternoon Ya'll From Cloudy and 77 degrees Taxachusetts,

We know how to do paving projects right in MA.  The single (only) main highway that circles Boston is Route 128/Route 95.  What "they" do at 8pm, and unbeknown to the citizens, is close all three travel lanes and then funnel all of the traffic down onto the one breakdown lane.  Add in a car wreck and you have a perfect standstill with mass asphyxiation.  So on our trip home from dog training in NH last night It took the wife and I about 35 minutes to drive the first 40 miles and 2 hours to go the last 10.

Wife was pretty cranked up because she was very tired and wanted to get home. Then things got even worse. We were forced to roll up the windows and use the a/c to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.  Solid plan, except......That is when the dog's plumbing decided that the hot dogs my wife fed him liberally at our dog training class began giving him a serious case of gas!  Hmmmm, death by carbon monoxide or dog gas.  Tough choice.  The task was difficult, but I was able to reach the switch and open the sunroof before I passed out.  I did manged to get a laugh out of the wife by blaming her for the odor in the car.  Then I lifted her spirits and hopes by informing her I had carefully hidden a couple of Dove ice cream bars in the freezer.  All of the good cheer and light mood was fleeting, however, when upon arrival at home at 11:45pm the wife discovered HER son had eaten HER ice cream and mine as well before he left for work.  Was she hot about that!  But as you will read further down, she only gets mad when it is something of HERS that comes up missing.

Fife......I made the mistake of buying some sort of epoxy which when you mixed the glue with the hardener turned grey.  Mixed up a batch for the wife who was going to repair one of her favorite painted ceramic "lighthouses of New England" coasters that had cracked in two. You guessed it.  The dog knocked the glue covered piece of cardboard off the coffee table and onto the new carpeting, glue side down.  Acetone wouldn't even lift the glue out of the rug!  That stuff really sticks!  Had a good time watching the carpet cleaners trying to get that spot out, without luck.  Always buy the clear glues.

DougM.......sweet view out the window of your office.  Where do you hide the DougM replica mannequin and rope ladder to effect your escape for those two hour summer walks around the Loop?

Jim/Brutus.......continued prayers for your wife.  What a trooper!

MikeC......hope you shut out those suckers in the first round of the playoffs.

Dennis......like you with your little ones,  I love to let the granddaughter "help" with things, even when it takes 3 times as long.  But what irks me the most with the kids?  I discover strategic tools I really need missing from my toolbox.  But the granddaughter is not the culprit.

Yes, there is a tool gremlin in my house, one who keeps taking things and then doesn't put them back.  To wife:   "Pam, I can't tighten the hose clamps on the swimming pool filter which you insisted must be up and operational tonight because, except for the star drivers, all of my screwdrivers are missing.  How did my toolbox get unlocked in the first place when only you and I have a key?"  Yup, I lock the toolbox so I can have the simplest of tools when I need them, and she unlocks it for the son.  Same son.  Been going on for 25 years.  Bet you I have purchased or have gotten as gifts a half dozen socket wrench sets and about 10 dozen screwdrivers. AngryBanged Head

Solution:  Feed dog a pound of hot dogs and place him in car.  Whack son over head with hammer if it isn't missing from the tool box.  Next option, use the pipe wrench he hasn't yet found a reason to borrow.  Place unconscious son in car and duck tape him to the rear seat.  Close doors and windows, and let nature take its course. Big Smile

Later gang.

Jack

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Hazy, hot & humid --- typical Bawlmer wedder, Hon!

Phish - I'll see ya at the hardware store, as my "everloving" managed to break the porcelain tub handle, then tried to fix it with some epoxy she found in a drawer...then got mad at me for touching it this morning.  Let's just say there were several good responses I had to choose from upon this discovery --- MOVE OVER ROVER!

cnw1995 - Cool view!  I like petina on roofs.  Oh, and duck if you see Angelina riding by on top of the EL...Whistling

Fife - I know how Mrs Fife feels! I just spent how long searching for the epoxy, applying it without getting it all over myself and the project site, then along you come and mess it up BEFORE it has a chance to setup!?!?! Banged Head But a trip to the hardware store for a matching handle that ISN'T broken would be a better solution in the long run! Wink

Heading to Cumberland tomorrow for a B&B vacation with The 'Q' and my parents. Saturday we are all having dinner on the Western Maryland Scenic RR where they are presenting a Murder Mystery! SOOOOO looking forward to this trip! Hope to have some pics to share on SPF.

Chuck -Good to have dairy farms near you. They use a lot of water and would get a quick response from the water company. I am surprised though that they are not on their own wells.

Good Morning

Sun and 80s today, Just got back from a newer Target store. I shall return to the older ones. Some idiot set up the handicap parking so that anything near the store doors is half a block away for everyone else. All the parking spaces  in front of or near the store were empty because of the HC signs.SoapBox

No big plans for the day except Charlie might stop by on his way home. Always look forward to his visits...S.J.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 72 degrees. Humid. Going up to 88 today, with a chance of rain later.

Today is a busy day. Wife is going grocery shopping. She loves that job. LOL

Gas is at $2.39 a gallon in Cambridge.  $2.69 in Caldwell. 15 miles apart.

Yesterday was a mess. No water for 6 hours. Water Dept. could not find the problem. So, they said the hell with it and went home. I got the Supervisor on the phone and told him he had 200 homes and 3 dairy farms without water. He called in a crew and they finally found a huge leak along the main highway. Repaired about 8 pm last night.  I think Buckeye was the one that found the leak.

Dining car was here for the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Aloha. Beautiful day here. Can't load Messenger so far on the new phone, Brutus, so I am missing chatting with the gang. Buckeye, I've used that Rustoleum on the garage floor about a year or two ago. It seems to work. Worn a bit at the end but that's probably my painting than the paint itself. Sealed well. Expensive. Might take the youngest to the beach later. Sir J, cool weather heading your way.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  It was hot and humid at the game last night.  Well, my streak of shut out appearances as a goalie came to a screeching halt last night as one of the opposition slipped by the defense and had me one on one.  I got a glove on it, but that was about it as it hit the back of the net. We manged to escape with a tie, and combined with a loss by another team, elevated us to fourth (out of eight) in the final regular season standings with a 3-3-2 record.  Bad news is that we play this same team again in the first round of the tourney.  I cannot say I like our chances right now.  No new injuries, but bruise from last week's activity is starting to show up.  Wife and granddaughter had a busy day yesterday, but both were tired and crnaky by the time I got home.  Also did weights at YMCA as well.  Dennis, looking forward to hearing more about your movie projects.  If there are any scenes calling for aging soccer players.....contact David Beckham :-)  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  Beacon is lit after a relatively placid drive last night.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all.  Got a few big cases today and one of the guys is on vacation.  that being said, it will be a busy one for me.  I have been very busy with the layout lately.  Jon, my bride has been taking photos, so I will post when I get the chance.

Got consulted on another movie that will be shot in October.  Just going to provide some information, not going to be too involved as this one is not with the church.  Also have another one in the works, but will have to wait to discuss.

Wife and kids were so tired yesterday after spending the day bowling, playing at the fun park, and swimming.  Worked out well as it gave me some time to work on the layout without "help".  I love my kids, and love that they are involved in the trains, but I do make more progress on my own.  I of course, would not discourage them from helping...want to keep it a family project and activity.

I hope that everyone has a great day.  Prayers out to Brutus' wife, and Bob (hope they get things nailed down soon for you), God Bless,
Dennis

Another warm one here, but a fair bit of clouds today. Hopefully some more rain in the future. Not much else going on today. Just mostly hanging out and reading. Today has been less than a good day physically. And food than has been ok before seems to be setting me off now. My surgeon friend said something interesting tonight: "If you hear hoofbeats and you can't find any horses, it's time to start looking for zebra's". She may be right. Just got back from the used bookstore a few blocks away (to look for books on what supposedly I can eat) and it took just about all I had.

Brutus - continued prayers for the wife and hope everything goes well

Buckeye - sonic removal of a kidney stone? Never had that done, but have had them. Part of the price of being a geologist in the southwest I think, but none recently thankfully. I guess working in astronomy has its advantages.

Sturgeon - when do you take your big trip w/ the "new" camper and the truck?

cnwdoug- that's quite the view you've got there and was glad to see the windows still present

Time to go crash out for a bit. Good night all.

Wow - almost forgot to post on here!  Was headed to bed and thought, what did I forget?

Thanks for the prayers!  Wife will get another transfusion tomorrow.  Had to get a new battery for the camera - finger wasn't slipping off the button, the battery was dead!  Wow - $43 for a Kodak battery!  I stopped at a local hobby store in Arnold, but they did not have any good wire for me.  I'll try another one tomorrow, a little further away.  Nice chatting tonight with RT, SJ, and Charlie.  We'll be getting some nicer weather here soon - night time temps are going to be in the 50's and low 60's!

Tardis is ready and I see a lot of beacons so better get started!  Banilla sounds great!

Buckeye Laugh  Good luck on the dam project!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I found a car on my front stoop today...

Work has been interesting.  My boss resigned last week, moving to Nashville.  I haven't been told who my new boss is, or if I will be the new boss of my group.  Pretty loose company I work for, indeed!

Our air conditioner at work (server room) keeps shutting down.  The compressor just stops running, and with the amount of gear we have in there, it raises a degree a minute.  It's been going on almost every night for the past 3 weeks.  Our AC maintenance guys can't seem to figure it out.  There is nothing like getting a call at 3 am that you need to go into work.  I already have racked up 2 days of comp time.  Taking one tomorrow to work on cleaning out the garage.  That's the last of the major projects.

Good evening everyone.  Charlie a belated Happy Birthday!

Where do I start?

Wes....Have you received the car?

Work.....We are busy!  We had an out of the blue phone call to do an assessment of the damage to roadways in an adjacent county by a pipeline construction company.  Any day now, I expect a call from the mayor of Raleigh to build a dam and flood Roseyville.   Laugh

Home.....We had a small gathering of the neighbors on the deck to meet the new grandson.

Boat.....Had it out the first time this year and runs like a rabbit across the lake.

Lake...House done.

Vacation....Going on one to Michigan for the Train Festival.

Weather......This is why we moved to Ohio for the great weather!  High of 80 with low humidity.  Sure beats that hot crap in NC swamps.

New projects....Fix Blueberry's water system.

Recent train purchases.....Nothing new.  Looking forward to YORK.

Train news.....Ran garden railroad for the party.

Medical....After several postponements, kidney stone blast next week.  Would rather have a root canal.

Brutus...Prayers for you and your wife.

88....Tell Susieq that her boy Buckeye says hello and give her a big kiss.

Question:  Has anyone used Rustoleum's Garage Floor Paint?
