CHIEF Sounds good, give me a call if you want at 717 692 3769 if you want or I'll see you down their at BPS. I think the Outdoor show is at the Farm Show Complex at that time. It is the biggest outdoor hunting and fishing show on the east coast. It is a little pricy $10.00 to get in but there is lots to see.
Have a good one will look for ya.

Austin is going nuts! High today was 50 (at midnight)...at 9:00 CST this morning it's 40 degF. Kids are doing their snow dances hoping it will snow. I'm suckin' wind as hard as I can, trying to get the real stuff down this far. Supposed to be mid 20s tonight so if we get any precip...fingers crossed!

Glad to oblige you folks up there with the white stuff...but PLEASE send it down our way! I wanna wear my new boots and hat so I can send another pic to The Buckster!

ps Yesterday it was 75, clear, and light breeze from Rolesville...thanks Chiefie!

Temperature has dropped below freezing and earlier rain has now turned into a sleet storm. They say we may get 2-3 inches of snow today. News shows the vehicles sliding off of I-20 already!

Jim, put on the boots and hot-foot that Vette up to Dallas for a little snow! We'll even give you a little hot chocolate (with some essentail anti-freeze compounds added!).

Ben & Buckeye - nice pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

Blizted the malls yesterday and basically completed my Christmas shopping for the family. It paid to wait - some stores (with coupons from the local newspaper) were offering 50% (orig sale) + 10% (Special that day) + 20% (coupon from paper) for a ridiculous 80% off! I was able to get my wife several outfits instead of the normal two. These stores are crazy - I guess it is better to get it off the floor than to have it pile up like last year.

Have a great day all!

Dang this ancient laptop - Great pictures all. Tim, thanks for the Radio Shack advice - going to library to get Wiring book again today. Tried to hang backdrop last eve, realized there's nothing to hang it from - behind insulation was only concrete so taped it to the ceiling above - all fell down this morn - next will try to hang it like a curtain. Been snowing steadily for the last hour or so.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

News media trying to make this a bigger deal than what it really is - as usual.

Jim, as you well know - I 35 is always "fun" regardless of the weather!

I am so glad that I bought Mrs. Buckeye a new snow shovel. [:D] The only problem is that the instructions were written in Spanish and no habla espanol. Must be a TEXAS shovel. It is so tiny when compared to a Cleveland shovel.

Chief, I read your post and then promptly threw up in the snow. GAG ME!!! You are so cruel to us Yankees who in the summer [8D] flock to your beaches and spend big money on beach house that fall time and time again into the ocean.

I'm glad several of you have liked the photos posted of our Annual Christmas Party. If your goal is to expose kids to trains, the party has done its job in spades. Of course it's nuts. What did you expect! [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Still snowing lightly although it appears to be moving out. Flurries predicted until 7 tonight. What is surprising is that it is sticking - we were running around yesterday in short sleeves and no coats needed!

My son and I just went to see the Polar Express. Pretty good show - good sound effects.

I grew up in Houston. The radio DJs there used to have a good time with a campaign to get at least one snowplow for Houston. A city that large should own at least one was their reasoning.

When it snows here - it is just a day off for most! Rare that it sticks around for more than a day or two.

Got the fireplace going.

Keep warm all.

Hi All !
Got family visiting from the Cincy area, they are supposed to fly back this friday. If they see the weather going on there now and forecast for the weekend they might change their mind. Hang in there Buck, Tom and Torpedo, keep your shovels handy. [:D]

It has been awhile since I posted a photo due to problems with getting photos onto my Comcast account web tool.

Here is what things looked like here earlier today. The wet roads are freezing now so it is getting slick out. Radio reported over 40 accidents and when I took my daughter to church for youth group this evening - traffic was bad due to accidents on the freeway between our home and the church.

If this works - I will work on some photos of the layout.

Roy - pic looks great. Lets see the trains.

Doug - it's snowing all thru OHIO. Cinci should see about 12 to 15" along with us. Dayton will have a record snow fall from this one.

Then on Thrus or Friday, we will get the loving Lake Effect snow- another 10 to 12". You got to love it. It is better than Florida had this summer.

Im Sure its like when I lived near Houston, If there is a heavy dew, the roads clog up and shut down. Be careful on the slick streets as I am sure your vehicles are not equipped for it.
A balmy 14 degrees and clear skies here at 5 pm. Glad the shortest day of the year is out of the way.

If it said Amish, it must be from Ohio. That's how we trick people into buying high priced stuff made in Ohio.[:D]

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio is in a real mess. Yesterday snow which left me about 14” has turned to rain last night around 2:30am. It is still raining and soon will be turning back to snow. Our temps will be dropping into the single digits. All that water will refreeze. What a driving nightmare. LOL. I don’t know if I can snowblow the snow that is left because of how wet it is.

Here is some good news. My wife said I was having way too much fun with taking pictures, so she bought me a new camera for Christmas. She gave it to me last night so I would have time to learn it for the big day. It is different from my Pentax that I have been using. The pics of the day are from the new camera.

Pick of the Day

all be safe

Good Morning everyone,
Ah the last day to work in Santas Workshop!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I am a Industrial Arts teacher(wood Shop) in a Middle School 6th 7th and 8th grade. Been doing this job for 20+ years. Yeah me? This time of the year is the very hectic with kids trying to get their projects done in time for Christmas, I think I will be able to Git R Dun??? Then yeah a week off from our little angels.
Hey Buck if it said Amish it might have come from Pa. I live right in the heart off Amish country with Lancaster just 30 miles away and Chicken corn soup, yum yum.
Temp this morning at 53 balmy degrees with winds at about 35MPH @ 515. I wish we got some of that Buckeye snow so I could do some cross country skiing.
Going to try and get a deer with the flintlock on Monday that is when our Flintlock Season begins, probably no deer left anyway.
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas a get lots of good stuff under the tree.
Hope your stocking is stuffed with flanged wheels and electro couplers, and don't eat too much. Check in with use guys next week, until then,
Mery Christmas,
May God Love ya,

Who left the refrigerator door open? Good Grief it's cold this a.m. and supposed to be even worse tomorrow. I'm really glad our two boy's and daughter in law are coming here for Christmas and I'm thankful for no snow, we have about 1" on the ground and that's just enough. I mentioned to the doc yesterday (4th visit since Thanksgiving--Bronchitis/Asthmas) that I thought a week in the Caribbean would solve the problem--he held up two fingers! I like this guy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and just slows down on this special day.

Jon

shot from last Christmas--Merry Christmas from Iowa!

WET SNOW. That is NC snow and not Ohio snow. Slept well, all that high priced food. [:D] Rainy and warm here. Turning cold but not as cold as you guys. Dry and high 30's for Christmas. Actually the meal last night was more Texan. Oil Baron prices. [;)] Chris, isn't school out???? Well, all have a great day and God bless all.

Morning folks,
We've got about a half inch of ice here, with another couple of inches of snow on top of it.

We were going to leave for my Grandfather's in North Carolina today, but it looks like that's out of the question.

Hope that you all have a good day. I'm off to clean off the driveway now.
