Yesterday my girlfriend was struck by lighning, and me too. She told me she wanted to stop with the horses[%-)] because she thought she would like to dive a motorcycle and go on Holiday more often..[8D]
Now I didn't have that much going on with the horses myself, no flanged wheels... so it's not a big disappointment for me, and the plans she had with the future sounded even better!
Jim it looks like we will have motorcycles back in our shed.. I'll try to get a suzuki GS850G back or a BMW R type. My girl decided she must have a chopper like a shadow or intruder. (The real BIG twins as Harleys are too expensive for us, humble servants..)
But she needs to get driving lessons first, and pass 3 exams before she is allowed to steer those things..
She even told me about the plan to go on Holiday to Norway with the motorbikes..[:D] (I need a jumping smiley!!)
I hope she will eventually put the whole plan through!
Motorbikes also don't have flanged wheels (normally) but it's great to ride, since you don't have to follow a specific track..

May be, in the future, I can get her into a camper or motorbike holiday in the USA.. That's one of my dreams!

Everyone keep warm, and Duda the reindeer, don't picture shorts in December, or you also ask the weather gods for a cold front!!

That reminds me of an old Christmass song:

Duda the red nose reindeer,
had a very shiny bike...
Riding it in december,
That's the thing he like.

Duda the rednose reindeer,
rides it every day,
he rides the bike in hotpants,
to scare the girls away..

I don't really know the words anymore to that melody,
but it had to be something like that[angel]

Daan, if you ever want to come to the States and see the true America, you will need to make sure you see more than the average European, who normally goes to New York and Washington.

It is fairly cheap to purchase a ticket to the States and then Amtrak has a special fare not available to us for foreign tourists. (At least they used to have the fare.)

BTW, Daan, why don't we see other Europeans on this forum? We never see anyone from Australia either but they show up on the Garden RR Forum.

Morning gang. If Daan came to the States and visited all of us, he'd stay busy. He would not stay up in Yankeeland too long becasue he could not get grits and sweet iced tea. [;)] Hey, warmer ther today. Guess the Yanks stopped sharing their bad stuff with us good guys. [:p] I still think Charlie Brown lives in Ohio. The Michigan folks are too smart to have him there. [;)][:-^][:-^][#oops] [Well that should get Buckeye heated up] Hey, waht is that noise I heare from up in Ohio? OH, that is Tom snoring as he sleeps late. All have a great day and God bless all.

Morning all,

Hey DAAN,
If you did come here to the States you might stay in Yankee land longer then you think , just because we have better food then down south. Once you have some good Buffalo wings and Philly cheese steaks and quenshed them with a few brewskis you'd think you were in heaven. Burp!! Excuse Me. Nice day here about 38 F. I go to the train shop tomorrow to pick up alot of other peoples gifts. People have been calling me to get lots of stuff for their train buffs. The biggest thing on that list is a Lionel Majestic Set I'm getting it for the HS principal in our district fform his wife. Cost $560. Not bad?
I fell like I'm Santa.
Have a great day,

Good Morning all,

NE Ohio is cloudy and cool, temp at 28 with more snow on the way. I know we are going to have a white Christmas. It tis the Season. We had light snow last night, but it was warm enough that it milted.

Daan – If you make to the US, you have to plan a Forum Visit Holiday and stop and see all of us.

Buckeye – you are correct, even on MR forum, there are plenty of member from over the pond. It must be the Lionel thing and the States. Not much room over there to run ‘O’ inside, so HO inside, and ‘G’ outside. Look how much ‘G’ gauge is made overthere.

all be safe

Daan - In TexASS, the guys wear hotpants and the girls wear thongs riding motorbikes. It was me that put the thought of riding motorbikes instead of horsies in your girlfriend's head - that's my Christmas present to you! I would have given you more, but you have been naughty.

If you do come to the States, leave your girlfriend with the boyz in Ohio and Rolesville 'cause there are too many girls in TexASS who love to ride motorbikes...wearing thongs! You'll be riding with a smile on your face.
Small Layouts are cool! Low post counts are even more cool! NO GRITS in my pot!!!

Holy Pierogi ! A Corvair for Christmas.Yikes![:O] Looks like I'll have to write a book entitled "101 things to do with a dead Corvair" Then go on Click & Clacks radio show to do a Book Promo about the Corvair.Next,I'll write a song about the Corvair and send it in to Ray Stevens for a comedy record. It's like the old saying." If life gives you a Lemon(Corvair) make Lemonade out of it." When people ask about the Corvair I'll just say it Helps to keep the Bees and Hornets away with it's Smoke![:D] Have a good day everyone...........Keith.

Keith, my wife loves Click and Clack. Listens to them every Saturday. They are not bad at all. Sometimes I do not agree with their answers to persons with problems but that is life. How about a song, "GrandMa got run over by Santa in his Corvair"? Then we could make a cartoon and sell it to national TV. [:D] Now the comment about better food in Yankeeland is BULL. Everyone knows southern cooking is the best. Look at the Food Network. Always wanting southern style cooking. Yankees make you eat hard vegetables that are half cooked and have no ham hock seasoning. [;)] Country ham biscuits, southern fried chicken, grits with country ham redeye gravy and others. [no wonder my arteries were getting restrictions] [;)]

I sent some snow to OHIO and some cold air to Rolesville, just to remind them they had better be nice or I'll really send 'em some bad weather!!!

I was going to send some really sexxy lookin' Elf Hotties up to the Twin Cities to help the Professor FINALLY finish his layout, but he's been up to some naughty stuff too, these last few days...so I'm afraid we won't be able to watch him (or his computer) control his trains for a long, LOOOOOONG time.

I will tie some Jingle Bells to the wheels and put on my red suit in a few days when I come riding through the sky to all your houses.

Beside, a train layout is never finished, especially if you send hotties. Decisions decisions.[:D]

The reason we don't see more Europeans on this forum, is Daan is the only one in Europe that can read Suthern. Just wait untill he hears the Chief speak Suthern. He will be so confused!

If Daan is not careful, the Dutch Goverenment will send him to Atlanta to be their representative to the South. He's about half way there now. I have also noticed he has started to pick up on the TEXAX drawl. Next thing we know he will be sitting in the White House trying to get more Lionel trains sent to Holland duty free.

Greetings all. I'm working harder on my day off than when I'm in the office - what's with that. I'm disappointed I may not get any of the items I ordered a few weeks ago in time for Christmas - while I appreciated the phone call, I was told some items are out of stock. Dang. Thank goodness they're for me. I did get my Marx station - not opening it before Christmas - I found some plastic banquet table wrap in sky blue that I'm going to play with as a backdrop...

Well,

The cold I have had the last week turned into a bronchial infection yesterday as my condition worsened instead of improving. Went to the doc first thing this AM. Got massive 1000mg (look like Tide washer tablets) antibiotics to take twice a day for the next week, some sort of inhaler, etc. There seem to be so many infections that get out of control that the docs now take a very aggressive approach (never had 1000 mg twice a day).

Have a great weekend all.

Roy

Roy, be careful. That will give you pnuemonia. I know. I get it every year. Had it this past year and got to skip the hospital [usually end up there a couple of days]. Take the meds, stay in and behave. Will pray you get a lot better. Weather in Texas has been carzy. Was colder than us. God bless.

The weatherman is talking Dome and Gloom, big snow storm, winds at 30 mph, 17 deg. Up to two feet of snow in snow belt. Sunday should be a fun day.

Hi Guys,
I SAW ANOTHER DUTCHMAN!!!! on this forum, in the sticky thing on top of the page..
I'm not alone out in the open fields of unknown territory..
If I'm going to drive one of your bigtwins through the states I'll drop by if it's on the route.. (If the bigtwin holds together..)
We have a few jokes here about bigtwins; they have a magnet on the mudflap... to collect all pieces fallen off.
Oil doesn't leak from a harley, it's a highteck rustpreventionmethod..
Hardtails are invented to prevent loosing parts. Every part not welded to the frame will come loose oneday, so a hardtail is safer.
The big front of a harley keeps the motor on track when falling asleep, etc.

Today i set up the cristmass tree. My girl decided to have a natural tree, so I hang the containing of 2 sacks potpourri in the tree.. It smells a bit like toilet, but it looks great.
I also put all the other lights in the house. First because I like it, second because the neighbours straight across the street don't[:D]..
I also have a lighted train in front of the window (WOW)!

And Jim, thanks for talking with the lady.. I feel sorry for her on one side, because she gave up a hobby, and feel happy because she can spend more time with me now...

Keep warm and enjoy the snow! (Jim, you enjoy your nice warm winter)

The countdown has begun. Mrs Buckeye's school is out for the holidays and Tuesday night is the neighborhood party with four trains layouts running in and outside the house. Roger's Corners will be hopping! [8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]

I have commissioned a photographer to take photos this year of the party. (He's a buddy of mine that works for a major book publisher and can run a camera.)

Today I fini***he last scenery on the layout, push it back against the wall, store the boxes beneath the layout, clean the track, and test the trains and accessories. I will be mobbed by kids wanting their turn to run the trains. I'll keep my fingers on the off button most of the time. There is a little girl in the neighborhood that loves to run the trains. She gets back in line all night. She likes to run them full throttle, aka women driver.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio has the Clam before the Strom with cool sunny skys, temp at 30.

Daan – It’s great that you have someone so close. Think how surprised I was to find Keith, 1688torpedo, at the end of my street. He is close enough that we can walk to each other houses.

BTW – Keith, let me know when you want to bring over some of your engines to run.

Buckeye – by Tuesday you should have snow on the ground, if the weatherman is correct.

Finally finished Christmas shopping. Weatherpeople saying it's going to get coldest ever for this time 'o year today. May be record high barometric pressure. I'm glad I live far west of all the Great Lakes - no sign of snow here. The Toro snowblower doesn't work anyway - fortunately, I have two small human snow-pushers to help if it snows. I think there was old gas in the machine and doesn't that gum up the workings kind of like a varnish? Anyway, I can't find anyone who works on small engines around here. The older kids (reluctantly) are going to sing in the Christmas services, my wife is going to be in a 'drama' - she's going around the house practicing her lines - looks like it'll just be me and the baby on Christmas Eve - while they are rehearsing and working at all the services that day. He loves the trains. I think we'll just go in the basement and he can perch on my knee and run them together. Roy, I'm sorry you'll ailing this time of year. I can just imagine the size of those meds. Have a great day!

Morning all!

Much better today and thanks for all the well wishes! Sore as all get-out from all the coughing the last few days. Made it through the night without hacking. This made the missus quite happy! It is amazing how the first day of antibiotics can make such a huge difference in the way you feel.

Kids are now free from school a couple of weeks. My 13 year old made it through her finals and we think she passed all of them (hooray). We will probably try to take in a movie this afternoon (not too strenuous).

The news here last night said that this cold blast that is coming is the strongest in recent history, with a direct north-to-south jet stream (vary rare) pushing it.

Have a great day all and take care.

Regards,
Roy

LET IT SNOW!!

Roy, you take care of yourself and we will try to keep the snow here in Buckeye Land. Of course, we will send some to North Carolina to keep them on their toes, but usually they just sleep through winter. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

BTW, notice the front dots on the bumper. That's how many Sutherners we done pulled out of the snow last winter.
