Hi all,
Went to the train shop to pick up gifts for all the wives of our local train nerds. If the amount of people that are buying trains says anything about the industry then from the looks of things today it is in real good shape. Young and old were buying and Barry from Barry's Trains in Elizabethtown, Pa.had a big smile on his face. I couldn't even spend much time browsing. But they are happy (the wives) that I helped get their hubbys their stuff.
Have a good one.

"Oh. the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful...
To the Train Room I will go -
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW...LET IT SNOW!!!"

Hey Chris, left a post for you on the "disbarring" topic for you to drop by the Coffee Pot. Hope all is well with you. We've missed you. The Ohio guys [got an extra one or two now] are trying to give us southern guys bad weather. Don't be a stranger and keeping paying us a visit. BTW, still got that same pretty friend. [;)]

Tim, what year is your Jeep? I have had mine in mud, snow and WV rocks and it seems to go anywhere.

BTW, Jeeps are made in Buckeye Land.

Its a 1997 4 Cyl with about 88,000 Mi. I think they would go straight up if you can maintain traction. I have a 9000 lb. winch on the front and I haven't got stuck yet.My wife has the Grand Cherokee ,all wheel drive with the V-8 and it will really haul. Has studded tires for the ice. Sometimes (like now) our dirt forest service road is solid ice downhill for 2 miles. These vehicles really do the job and make you feel safe. Need snow now........Tim

Several years ago Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge had their road show in Buckeyeland. They built an obstacle course for the Jeeps. We drove the company's Jeeps over anything and everything with the factory reps providing instruction. After driving over the logs was when I knew it would go just about anywhere. Mine is a 2001-6 cylinder and we love it in the summer with the roof off.
Do they do the Jeep wave in Idaho?

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio is very White this morning, 20mph winds with gust up to 40, temp at 17 deg and of course SNOW. The weatherman is happy, he was right, it came.

Buckeye may get to use his Jeep yet.

Chris – Glad to see you stop by.

Tim – We used those out in the snow belt where I used to live. We haven’t need one since we moved closer to the lake and the city.

All be safe

Good news Chris. I think we might get some Ohio floating down before the day ends. If so, only a flurry. Cloudy and turning cold fast [was in 50's earlier]. Not suppose to get above freezing tomorrow but into the 50's Tuesday. Now that is a real up and down and back up. The train lady dropped of my Polar Express last night. [:D] Now to get it out and run it. Box too heavy for a guy with a split breastbone to lift. Got to get Pam to help. All she wants to do is watch Christmas cooking on Food Network. All have a good day and God bless all.

Good afternoon,

What a goregeous day here but super cold, good day to spend downstairs finishing the painting of the gypsolite. Got the last mountain and AmeriTowne building fronts installed last night, thought you might enjoy a couple of shots.

Very pleased at how this worked out

and here's one for Chief, love that John Deere green

I'm going to put more shots up on our album in just a little while, you'll be able to get a better idea of what's happening. We MIGHT get the layout done this afternoon......

Jon, I'm jealous. I have a set of those flats with tractors on order since March and have not arrived yet. [:(] Also a flat with long trailer on it. [:(] MTH is a little slow on delivery this year.

Hi guys,
Looks like you are all very well prepared for winter.. I had a 6 cyl. cherokee once, but since petrol costs $2 a litre, I changed to the japanese small 4x4's. i have a jimny..
The backdrop looks great Jon!
Hope we will have some snow this week, but forecasts are lousy so my hope is a small one..

All keep warm and stay safe, the first snow caused 3 death in our country; people still fail to remeber that snow makes the roads slippery...

Buckeye, I think you did a little "mod" on my original post. [;)] Hey, this thing smoke up like a train. [:D] Even looks like the somke is coming out from the right side of the shell at the cylinders. I wounder if the smoke unit is sealed good to the shell. Puffs up a storm out the stack. Think I'll take it upstairs and open it up on the big oval. [:)]

I hope tomorrow night to run in the snow. It is only 3 degrees out and I think the oil in the bearings of the engine would freeze solid tonight.

Hi guys,
I was thinking of use guys in Buckeyeland when watching the game of the Chargers and Browns. Hope you are warm and safe. Reminds me of my college football days at Mansfield State College in upstate Pa., we had a foot of snow for a game in the middle of October in '77 had fun anyway, but we lost. Glad not to be shoveling or snow blowing yet. Hope all is well.

At last, it started to freeze last night. Everything is white from the frost outside with sunny skies.
May be we have some snow when it stay's cold..
I made a new part to my resistor control. This one is a resistorblock with 8 2 ohms resistors, which can be switched by relais into different positions, to get 1 ohm 40 watts, or 4 ohms 40 watts and 8 ohms 20 watts.
The plan is that if I run only one can motor K-line, the 8 ohm resistors will block the power so much that I can drive it slowly without having a superchief on the second track to eat power..
The resistors can be switched to provide a sufficient load for every kind of engine driving alone, or multiple trains driving together..
Specially for the small k-line's it should be a difference between no control or full control..
Keep warm and safe, but the last part won't be a problem with the heavy 4x4's..

And I've got to go to work and the temperature w/o the wind chill is 2 degrees above.

Go to school Chris and then graduate so you can have the necessary money to buy trains.

(I hope the Chief doesn't get his shorts in a knot because I used the W word in this posting)

Good Morning,
Another beautiful day here and it's supposed to get above 30, yea! Yesterday was just brutally cold, not looking forward to Jan/Feb. Got an email from oldest son yesterday and he sent a pic of his bay window, thought you might be interested. Yes, we gave him the train a few years ago and now he and his bride have the perfect place for a small display.
