Good afternoon all,

It is raining and mild in SE Indiana with temps near 60.  If this is global warming, then I am in favor of it.   Happy birthday, Laz.  Buckeye, sorry to hear of your wife's loss.  Chief, keep up the work on the layout.  Tmcc man, enjoy the soccer always.  We went to late church this morning and I took Lucas to get a refund on a PS2 game that he bought but did not work.  We are having a houseful over tonight to ring in the new year.  I hope everyone on the "pot" has a Happy New Year!  I look forward to posting on Chief's new thread.  Maybe he could include Coca-Cola in the title as well as coffee and sweet iced tea Smile [:)]  As always, I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening Folks,

Not much to say, but I wanted to post to the old thread one last time before it's gone for good.

Hope that you all have a happy new year!

Don,

I tried to download your schematic but the resolution is not good enough to blow it up.

Do you have a pdf or native version (not jpg) that you could e-mail to me?

Check out John's comments on the 4 channels and the aux power. We use aux power at our club for the same reason. We did not have to "phase" anything nor do anything special for the aux power "ground" or common.

HEY! Just realized I could end 2006 with one more post for 2006 posts. Then 2007 could be my first post for 2007!

Cowboys really stunk it up today. Losing to 2-13 (now 3-13) Detroit - they should be required to yield their current playoff spot.

Regards, Roy

Midnight EST.  It was started on EST so it will end on it.  Jim A wanted to know this AM [still sounding horrible] if I was going to call it the Coffee Pot.  I told him yes.  Everyone stands around the coffee pot and chats.  It originally said, "Come on back to the caboose as the Coffee Pot is always on."  Elliot suggested that I change it as the first year went by.  I had to add sweet ice tea. Wink [;)]  It was started at the Holiday Inn Express in Savannah GA while I was working an event at Bass Pro Shops.  Seems likes a long time ago.  A lot of water has gone over the dam.  We've had serious illnesses and surgeries.  All have recovered well.  As far as I know, we have not had a member die [knock on wood].  God bless.

Roy - good to see that my eyes are not the only ones that could not read Don's schematic.

I also use an aux power supply on my TIU and have all 4 channels converted to fix power. Don do you have the ZW on Channel one fix? if so, can you try the Z4000 on Channel one fix?

OK...OK....OK  (LOL)

Hey Guys, Thanks ...  Please do NOT spend any more time with that schematic, I WILL get it bigger it shouldn't be that difficult.

Give me a couple of hours.

Roy don't waste a post, save it for tomorrow, that will be cool.

John, I will get the image bigger, didn't want to create a big email, file but I can send it in jpeg easy and you can blow it up, easy.

Your guys are great!!!

Chief ....  Big congadulations on the Coffee Pot thread,  truly inspirational,  you original guys really did a great job with it for the past two years.  Surprised doesn't offer it in a jpeg file on a cd or something.  Maybe they (CTT) should download and burn a copy and give it to the chief.

Got to go and blow up a schematic and send an email.

Good Evening all!

Another peachy day here in metropolitan Gormley.  It'll be a wet evening for all those partiers downtown tonight.  Here's wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.

Did a little well needed lubrication on a few of my locos today.  I've managed to bring back to life a rather neglected prewar 226E.  It's still a bit shakey but certainly running smoother than when I first bought it.  Next on the list will be a prewar 601 with bell tender and Magic Electrol.  These early diecast Lionels certainly are a curious mix of old and new techniques in construction.  The Magic Electrol ( if I understand it correctly ) was Lionels attempt to do away with the E unit, utilizing the horn button to activate direction change without a neutral position. I doubt this option was offered in too many locos before they gave up on it.  All in all though it's a kinda neat little 0-6-0 switcher

Good night and see y'az all in the new coffee pot.

Well guys, my last post on the "Old Pot", looking forward to a fresh brew, but with the same old crew hanging around to pour a cup.

Laz, Happy Birthday!, I understand you are in the prime of your life, just takes you a whole lot longer to get primedWink [;)].  Anyway, have a great day!

Buckeye, sorry to hear the news.  We will keep the family in our prayers.

Chief, thanks so much for everything, including starting this friendly thread for us to share our lives, both train and non train related.  Also, thanks for the kind present and your friendship.

On a side note, we went to Columbus, Georgia, not that place up north.  At the Target, they had one of the Lionel sets left for $174.  I got it.  It is officially for the whole family, so I have still preserved my ability to get another train for my birthday in  a few days, even with the Restriction.  Also purchased a nice table for the living room for the wife.  She is now up another $700, so I should get the same money for buying trains....right?

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and please keep it safe.

God Bless,

Dennis

Well , I thought I'd make one last post on the "Pot" before the Chief shuts her down, looking forward to a freshly brewed pot tomorrow.

Happy B-Day [bday] Laz, Happy Birthday! Happy B-Day [bday]  Party hearty, but no big head for the younguns.  Those kids you teach are tough enough without a hangover.

Buckeye, sorry to hear about your wife's loss.

Chief, like Dennis and some others, I too want to say thanks so much for starting this thread so we can share and enjoy each other's company.

On a side note, we went to Hagerstown , MD today to see the Christmas layout at the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum.  I had not been there in years.  CSX has torn down all the old buildings, roundhouse, etc. since the last time I was there.  It is kind of sad to see all those historic buildings gone.

I hope everyone has a great New Year.

Take care,

Mitch

Just insultaed all the sidings in the big room.  Now I can move them to one of the other ZW's.  Then I will seperate the two main lines.

John, need you to tell me how to make the variables on the TIU to fixed.  I never used the variable ones as the DCS remote is not good for running conventionals.  I know it is in my book but I thought you could tell me [lazy me].  Also got one siding in the coal dump area with an off/on switch.  Park the little NS MTH switcher there.

I lost all my religion on one section of track.  Would not make good connections even though I had it upside down and they were touching.  Soldered the whole section of track.  Easy to do and it worked.  Also the switch with the striped screws refused to snap back together.  Was up on top of the table and one side locked and then other refused.  I was putting all the pressure I could on it.  Finnaly it poped and went together.  No more layout work tonight.  No need to ge that mad at a toy.  [I did compare Mike Wolf with Sadam Shock [:O]]

Off to watch movies on DVD player with wife.  She is well now.

Later.
