Colin : Bob Thatcher at AM hobbies has several Atlas GP-9S with TMCC on e-bay. I know you want  SD-40s, but maybe if you email him he can help.

Hi Jim! Smile [:)]

Buckeye: I liked your state too! I had a friend living in Cuyahoga Falls, but he passed away last year. I used to live in Illinois about 20 miles North of Chicago in a suburb called Wilmette. Moved here last January. I like this place a lot. Great state to retire in. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sorry, Deputy for not welcoming you. This group has some of the best people you will ever meet, and are very knowledgeable about O gauge trains. So welcome to the Pot.

It could be uncataloged, and I am going to do some further digging.

csxt30 John, thanks for the website. If I can't find the SD40, then I might go for the GP in the Atlas Custom runs.

Welcome guys.  I was an auxiliary LE officer for years.  Worked with them [furnished their vehicles] as State Fleet Manager.  Now my son and oldest daughter are LE officers.  So I have the greatest admiration for them.  Roseyville TB meeting was short this time.  Hungry so it is micro wave popcorn time.  Good night.

Good evening,

Chief,  The barn is filling up with 4H animals for next year.  Three steers, three goats & two lambs so far.

Deputy, Welcome to the pot.  Sign - Welcome [#welcome]    BTW I have the MTH Railking S-2 and it is one sweet running engine, my favorite steamer.

Jim Fortner,  Looks like an interesting track plan, a lot of action in a small space.  Be sure to post pics of the finished layout.

Kevin,  It sure is interesting to see some peoples reaction to being without modern conveniences for a short time.  Makes you wonder how they would react to a real problem.

Colin,  If that engine was released last year the only way you will find it is if some dealer has one on the shelf or if a used one shows up.  I have one of the CNJ GP-9s & it is a nice running engine.

Going to call it a night soon, off to the Weaver plant tour tomorrow.

Found Roy.  He is having the same problem.  He has gone from Comcast to Time Warner.  His whole service has been down.  He is working on a layout [I am almost sure he said] for York????????  Taking all his time.  Says, "Hi." to everyone.  He'll be back on the Coffee Pot in a few.  Chuck, you don't know how to chew --- like I do.  I had some problems at first, by-passed the local supervisor and went to the main office.  Somone was on it in a hurry.  They did have an outage months ago that their engineers could not fix for two days.  Understand somone slipped them a "bug".  Good luck.

Hey Guys,
Back from two days in Tucson and Green Valley, couldn't get web access without a major hassel, so did with out.

Kevin appreciate your comment regarding services not be available when you depend upon them.   But, after you accept that fact, it IS actually rather nice  Give a lot of time for thought and helps uncluttering everything.

Only 4 more days and finally home to start work on our new room.  Sure hope I have a train running in there before a year of planning, misfires, and delays has occurred.  Went to a local Rail Fest event here in Phoenix last weekend.  It was the season opening for the rail park and museum.  Emphasis and theme was directed toward young children up to 9 or so.  Was very well done!  And looked like everyone was having a great time.  Really enjoyed all the excitment in the kids, they were all over the place.  Also had some live steamers running, two engines were Shays, and were they ever well done!  Will post a pic or two tomorrow.

Probably go to the AZ State Fair tomorrow, kill some time and maybe see some different stuff.

Hope everyone gets a lot of goodies at York, extremely envious.

Have a great day!

Good morning from Gettysburg.  Still pretty damp out there this AM.  Supposed to clear off and dry up with high to be about 74.

Got home a little early last night and had some time to run some trains before the Mrs. and I went to the mission at our church.  Today is an all day meeting and then Thursday, Friday, and Saturday  are big time, train time.   I am so ready to get to York.

Dennis - I emailed JusTrains and reserved a K-line WM Plymouth Switcher and 6 ore cars that I am going to pick up at York.  That way I don't have to play the agonizing wait for the big brown truck game.  Thanks for the tip.  I am also thinking about picking up a RMT Buddy.  I was looking for one decorated in B&O in April but I had run out of cash before I found it.

Well, I better get my act in gear.  I have some reading to do before my meeting.

Take care,

Mitch

Good morning from a wet and mild New England. The last few days have been in the mid 50s, so today I broke out a turtle neck. The forcast calls for mid 70s! I'm gonna roast!

Welcome to the forum, Deputy! Gotta love NYC!

Jim Fortner,
I really like that Halloween layout. So much so that I'm going to do one like it on a hollow door for the kids.

Chief,
That was a strong whistle! The best of luck with that 2065. May it smoke up a storm for you.

Busy day ahead of me. All have a great day.

Good morning from a very foggy Atlanta. Looks like it is back to short sleeves today – a high of 80+ is expected!

Welcome Deputy. I too am a fan of the NYC. My collecting is split between NYC and ACL, with a little Great Northern thrown in. Grew up in PRR country – I never saw actual PRR only Conrail - but was never a big Pennsy fan.

Off to work. Have to pay for the trains some how.Sad [:(]

Good morning all,

It is mild in SE Indiana with temps heading to the low 70s today.  Welcome, Deputy, to the "coffeepot"!  You will find some interesting characters here, and even more interesting conversations, some of which even pertain to toy trains.  Some of the more important topics have included grits, Corvairs, and soccer (not necessarily in that order), but you will also find some people who genuinely care about one another.

My wife returns to work today for the first time since all the events with Lucas occurred.  This is another sign the situation is getting back to normal.  We watched "Veronica Mars" last night, and "Lost" is on tonight.  I also went to a local zoning board meeting (shades of Chief!) last night as well.  It was a request for a variance on a piece of land close to us.  It was approved without objection, which was a good thing for the neighborhood.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 55 degrees. Going up to 66 today, but cloudy. No rain.

Today, the wife and I are going up to Strassburg, for a ride. There is a great restaurant there, and we'll have a late lunch. Should be a nice day.

I worked on the layout yesterday, and it should be ready for the mountain to go back together. I definitely will shim up the supports about an inch to take the GG1 pantographs. And I will test it before securing it.  Yep.

NO ROADRUNNER YET. I WILL CALL, AGAIN, LATER!!!!!!!

Well, have to board the Dining Car for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

I do have to share this with you all.  I use the Upper Room for devotional each morning.  This was part of the one for today.  It made me laugh and think of Dennis and Jim A [maybe some of you with small Grandchildren].

Doug,

I'll peep. It will be very interesting to see how Lou P fits in with the Cubs. All things considered, I thought he did a pretty good job with what amounted to a minor league team in Tampa Bay. He'd be on my short list of managers I'd like to see in Boston. Leyland was as well and look where he's got the Tigers.

Da Bear? They seem like the real deal this year. Almost got embarrassed Monday night though. That would have been fine by me. I'm still harboring a 20 year old grudge against that franchise for the butt-whooping they gave the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

LOL, Chief. Good luck on the lake.

Jim, I think Lou is a good hire insofar he is unlike their former manager. As a Sox (White) fan, I expect them to continue to wallow in ineptitude.  This is much more a Bears town than anything else. That Super Bowl was sure special. They should've lost Mon. It's been a long time since they've gone more than 6-0.

Those of you going to York, let us know if you see anything interesting in the trolley line.

Doug,  if you ever really  set up a working catenary, take pictures. I'd like to see it. I have thought about it, on the new extention, I am going to build. No switches or tunnels. That would make it easier.

Morning all!

jaabat: Thanks pal! I'm a combo NYC/PRR fan. But NOT PennCentral. Smile [:)]
We had rain last night and it's overcast this morning. High temp will only be 58 with some storms coming. But not as bad as those poor folks in Colorado who got snow dumped on them.

Luther: I know your posts from our caboose thread. Good to see another NYC fan. Not a Pennsy fan?!?!?!? You gotta check out the MTH S2 Turbine. It WILL change your mind. Wink [;)]

laz 57: Grits?...aka wallpaper paste. I'll pass on them. I'm more a pizza and KFC fan. Big Smile [:D]

cheapclassics: Corvairs!!!! Oh yeah!...lots of old geezers on here like me that remember those. Hehehe. No offense to the seniors. I have noticed that this forum is MUCH friendlier than other forums I have been to. Almost like a big family. I like that! Big Smile [:D]
BTW...my "cheapclassic" is a 1972 Vette that I'm restoring (And it AIN'T cheap!!). It's patiently waiting for me in a storage facility while I twist the arm of the eldely lady that owns a big chunk of property next door to me. I need that land to build a 3-car garage/workshop

cnw1995: I know EXACTLY where Crystal Lake is located. VERY nice area. I actually got a ride on a  Milwaukee Road passenger car when I enlisted in the Army back in 1967. They stopped right in the center of my town (Wilmette, IL). I road all the way to Missouri on it. Also road on the Metra trains...but they are ultra modern.
