Good Morning from Blueberryhill...........

It's going up to 88 today. Maybe a shower this afternoon. It is sunny now and cool. Nice outside.

I have a few things to do outside today. I hink I will take it easy today. That shopping day is a real job. Then you go to check-out and get sick. I noticed a lot of prices going up. Transportation costs.

Jim..I must have missed the post on your new, deluxe fishing boat. If you can, post it again. Have a good time.

Buckeye...I saw a picture of your boat, but not of your cabin, or what, up at the Lake. Let's see it.

I will go into the " Diner " now for breakfast and talk more later.

Y'all have a great day.

Chuck,

I'm still learning the new forum, so I can't figure out how to post quotes or photos. One page back from here, the Chief posted a "humorous" photo of me and my boat.

I called him a few minutes ago. He had a bad case of the trots from eating a grits, eggs, and sausage sandwich! Sounded real bad. I could hear what sounded like a big balloon being deflated in the background. I say big because the sound went on for a very long period of time . . . and it was loud too! You don't think he was in the can while we were on the phone, do you?

Locomotive681, well, we got rid of one Yankee. Wink [;)]  Jimbo, so you can't take the heat. Smile [:)]  If that is true of all the Yankees.  Must be the sweet ice tea and grits that herds of YUZ GIZ are flooding South for. Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]  Out to grind trimmings.

CTT politely turned down my offer for an article on my garden toy train RR. I'm not really sure any magazine would want a story about it b/c it doesn't really fit into a particular category; e.g., Garden RR is mostly larger scale stuff and even when they use O gauge, they are "scale" trains, vice merely "toys." So, that's that.

David, That reminds me of a post I made a while back. It seems that the people who make the magazine are rather well off. Nice try.

Hi GIZ,

Very humid but less hot here today.  Ran my 6.5 miles this morning and lifted.  Yesterday got some overhead lighting hooked up and my wife spotted some bar stools in the paper for $25 dollars each, so we went to Middletown and picked them up.  They are perfect for the layout.  They are 30 inches high have a back on them and swivel.  We got 4 of them for $100.   Wife is always looking out for me?

MITCH, I will try and get pics posted this afternoon, got to charge up the batteries.

TMCC, we missed the BIG rain up here.  JELECTRIC got a good storm about 7 or so as did MITCH.

All have a good one.

Stay COOL?

Praying for Lucas...

Welcome back Jim!

Good morning from a sunny and cool Chicago where I see lots of blue police barricades going up for another big march. Here's a neat consist I just saw on the El outside my office - the wrapped 'pink' cars that look as if they were dipped in Pepto-Bismol (celebrating the new Pink line) and the wrapped 'White Sox' cars that look just like the MTH ones - quite the color combination.

I know, David, maybe try the R/C or garden railroading magazines!

Doug,

I hadn't thought  of the R/C mags. That would be sweet. I'll just do a quick check with Garden RR anyway just to check the box

Good Morning,

It looks like a nice day here today.  70°, clear, and low humidity and going up to 82°.  We may get thunder showers tonight.

Here is a train going through the Nevada desert this past April.

Wow, neat photo, Iron Hoarse. Where abouts in Michigan are you in the summer? I'm heading up to the U.P. next weekend.

Ironhorse,

Not fair; thought Nevada was supposed to be hot. At least in Vegas it was everytime I went there.

All,

Here's a photo I took earlier this year of the area hit by katusha rockets a short while ago today in Nazareth, where Jesus lived. Rather surprised they struck this city b/c mostly Arab Christians living here. I personally met some and had nice conversations.

WOW.  Been chipping and shreading trimmings.  More humid than yesterday.  Sweat running into eyes and dripping out of hair.  Clothes soaked through.  Got about half of the big pile done.  Putting the shreaded trimmings down the garden middles as mulch.  Now I've cooled off but not dry, I will go pick garden.  Then shower and go to Lowes.  Think I'll finish the pile later.

Jimbo, the noise you heard was the REBS blowing up the cream of wheet and oatmeal factories up Nawth. Wink [;)]

Train time this PM [I hope].

Good job David.

Jimbo, you missed the post of where I cooked pancakes and sausage for dinner Sunday night.  Well, I must admit, you Yanks have something us REBS do not have.  Maple syrup. Big Smile [:D]  I had some on my pancakes and it came from some New England Yank.  Don't like that fake stuff that says corn syrup with maple flavor.  Jest not the same. Wink [;)]

BTW: we have something you Yanks don't.  Fresh juicy peaches [from my tree].  My in-laws have acres of blueberries ready too.

Chief,

If you like Yankee maple syrup that much, I'll send you a Lehigh Valley hopper filled with it.

My wife works nights, so a lot of times, I make the kids pancakes for dinner. They love it. Breakfast for dinner. They also eat a lot of fresh fruit. Blueberries are just starting to ripen enough to pick now.

Ah, Yes !!!    Good old fashioned " Yankee " Maple Syrup.

Good with pancakes, waffles, Belgium waffles, with a lot of

real butter.  Yum Yum.  It would probably even make those

terrible tasting Grits taste good. Maybe not.

Dave,
Glad to hear it! You are definitely one of the innovators in the hobby. Even though I'm not a garden railroader, I'm interested to see more of your outdoor railroad using R/C toy trains.

Hey, how did we get away from food and on that snow bound hole in Yankeeland. Confused [%-)]  Maple Syrup is great on vanilla ice cream.  My Canadian buddy and his French-Canadian wife taught me that one.  He use to ship me bottles of the good stuff.  I would ship him boxes of pecans.  He died with cancer.  Now I have to bribe my wife or some New England Yankee.  That stuff down here cost more than a Lionel steamer with TMCC and Railsounds 5.0. Shock [:O]

Hi GIZ,

Hers the latest pics on my new layout.

Only the tracks have power going to them, so I can run some trains.  All the buildings and lights have to be hooked up.

So what ya think, good or bad?

I'm in northern Michigan.  Sorry for mot being more specific than that , but I really do not want to advertise exactly where I live when I am gone for six months out of the year.  I hope you have a good visit to the U.P.  when you go.  Big Smile [:D]

All,

It is not that hot when we are there from October to the end of April.  It sometimes gets up to 90 in October and April, but is around 70 most of the time that we are there.  We used to stay in Henderson, but we now have an apartment in a small town which is  north of Vegas and  pretty much in the middle of no where.
