Welcome back all,

I think I have figured out how to post. This is different but I am sure I will get used to it pretty quick.

I hope it stops raining soon and we get a little dry weather again. I can't get a lot of work done outside.

Well, have a good evening all.

The photos working, but I can't get my signiture in color.  Any suggestions?  Do we need to use the old codes?

Where is the IMG buttons?  Did we just take a computer step backwards?  The smileys are showing only words and not the actual smiley.

Maybe they are not finished, yet.

Thanks...I got it now.  It seems that in the change over from the old forum that "img" got changed to "image".

What exactly is new?  So far the only real improvement I have found is that the avatars work and there is a button for highlighting. Maybe there are a few more font colors.  There is a button that enables you to jump quickly from forum to forum.  I don't think I will over use that button.  I also saw a button to report bad posts.   One item that is worth noting is when you click on the last page of a topic, this software actually takes you to the last page and not two pages ahead.  I wonder if the email notification works for a specific post.  I haven't tried that yet.

Please excuse me if you think I'm being too critical, but I do not see the direction this is going to be deemed new and improved.  Yes, the old software had its  problems and many of us have pointed out the problems to the CTT staff and they most graciously acknowledged the shortfalls in their system.

Edited: The highlighting button, didn't work.  It made everything all caps!!  We used to get a statement that a post had been edited.

Significant day today, Mike Wolfe is going to be at our local trains shop this evening, Arnies.  Looking forward to meet him, maybe he will have some interesting information.  Can't wait to get all the free samples!

Due to our "new" digs here on the forum, I completely forgot to acknowledge yesterday's huge event in Buckeyeland.  The Cheif graced beautiful Ohio with a short visit.  Our lunch was at local pub, something not found in the South.  (I'm told the South only has red neck bars.)

Previous to the meeting, I made out a listing of all of your names so that I could remember to tell some lies about each and every one of you. Smile [:)]  Great lunch Chief, see you next time.

Hi everyone.

Let's give the new site a while to work the bugs out before we start ripping it.

I talked with the Chief yesterday. He told me he had a good visit with a couple of very nice Yankees from Ohio.

Ran another long freight train last night. The kids had a great time.

Morning guys.

Watching "The Making of The Lionel Hudson" on RFD.  It is neat to see all the efforts that go into these engines.  I was particularly interested in the amount of testing that goes into each engine.  Makes me want to make a call and order one....of course I have to come of "train restriction" first.

Have a great day,

Dennis

Good morning all,

It is foggy, humid, and warm in SE Indiana with temps near 90 today.  I have been away from the forum for a few days (more on that in a later post), but I finally got logged in and reconnected this morning.  We won the last regular season game and clinched a first round bye.  Our first game of the tourney is next Wednesday at 6:00 PM.  The forum has certainly changed a lot, and I have just glanced at all the comments about it.  At least we are all still here, and the forum is still free, so we can't complain too much.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from a Tropical Rain Forrest,

The only thing missing here this morning are Anaconda snakes lurking about, extremely high humidity and high heat and then it's supposed to warm up even more tomorrow.

Mitch, I tried to email you but it bounced back. I also use a Mac and do not see the image icon anywhere, nor the smiley list. Any thoughts? I use Safari and have access to IE but try to avoid it.

I do enjoy the new colors of the board, lots easier on these stressed eyes.
