Laz,

Do you mean Tanglewood? That's out in western Mass. They play in Symphony Hall untill July1st, then do the outdoor 4th of July concert (you might have seen them as they are broadcast nationally), then they head to Tanglewood.

Keith,

You'd be quite surprised at the songs the Pops play. They are really the Boston Symphony Orchestra, but this time of year, go by the name Pops, because they include so many popular, whimsical selections in their programs. My favorite was about 4 years ago. They opened with March of the Gladiators, which everyone knows as circus music. Later in the program, they played a bunch of old movie and tv show themes, including Star Trek, Star Wars, Leave it to Beaver, Hawaii 5-O, Peter Gunn, and Batman. You should have heard the applause after that medley! And you just can't imagine how good they make all this sound.

Hello everyone,
Today was finally the last day of school, and I have been at the Naval Air Base for the past 5 hours watching the ThunderBirds, as well as a lot of the other planes come by. I have indeed been watching the World Cup Games. I was so busy with exams last week that I hardly had time to log on. I was working at the Morris Arboreuteum again, and pretty much went to sleep when I would get home.

Talk to you all later.

Afternoon everyone.
Chief, have a safe trip and try to stay cool.
Happy Father's Day to everyone, a little early, but I figure the families will keep y'all away for a few days. Finished a case and now I am heading home. A few Honey Dos to take care of and then I hope to be working on layout plan.

Incredible - Chief is on his way here and it has rained twice today (nothing significant - enough to wet the grass and the sidewalks. And to keep his curse intact, the storms are between DFW airport and NC - certainly to delay his flights! [}:)]

I will pick Chief up tomorrow and we will head to the club layout and some lunch. [dinner] Texas BBQ maybe?

I will be headed out early Sunday for Scout camp and then Wed I head for Denver for meetings [:(!]. I will be out of touch for the next week - Chief will post some photos Sun I am sure!

Have a great evening all!

tmcc man - know you are glad school is over as well as exams. We were beginning to think you had flown the coop to Disney World again.

Roy - I know you can use the rain. I hope Chief doesn't bring rain to your Boy Scout camp week.

LAZ - hope you are enjoying your time off. You sure do keep busy though. A 40 on the back nine is not shabby. Hope you had a nice lunch with your Mom.

The Mrs. and I had a nice dinner out for our aniiversary. We were talking about previous Anniversary dinners and we can remember the first few and the last few but some of the years in the middle are a little hazy. Know I am getting old. [xx(] I bought the Mrs. an Anniversary card and put it in such safe place that I could not find it. Had to go out and get another one. I did find the Birthday and Christmas cards I bought her. Maybe the Annivesary card will turn up at Christmas or her Birthday.

Tomorrow we are off to the NASCAR Modified race at Jennerstown.

Bob,

I do the same thing. I put the cards I buy in a safe place and then I cannot find them until I do not need them.

Chief made it to DFW ok and he was on his way to Cabellas. Flight was on time but they did fly around some t-clouds.

Come on rain!

Hi everyone, warm day here in Michigan. My place is pretty warm right now, living in an upstairs duplex, so I will have to work on getting a window AC unit to put in. Fans don't do much good as always.

I got the new MTH CSX (and has B&O on it as well) crane car and its matching tender car today.....very nice cars indeed! Gonna run them on my layout tonight and see how they run. The tender car would make a nice caboose replacement.

Now I have three more cars in layaway, another CSX hopper, a searchlight car and an Alaska boxcar that I am getting for my brother. I've also asked the hobby shop owner if he could locate a Z-4000 transformer for me, as its time for me to work on getting a better power supply. So sooner or later.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, and happy Father's Day to the dads here.

Roy - Glad I am not alone in this getting forgetful thing. At least I think I bought a card.... maybe that was last year. At least my wife knows that I love her because I bought another card. I'll find it someday.

Hope you have a good visit with the Chief at your club layout. Texas BBQ sounds pretty sweet. Some of the best beef I have ever eaten was at my wife's nephew's rehearsal dinner which was held near Winnie in East Texas between Houston and Beaumont. They had some brisket that was to die for. The next day at the wedding reception the bride's grandfather and brother-in-law made the biggest pot of Gumbo I have ever seen. They figure they fed 400 people at the reception. It was darn good Gumbo too. They do know how to cook in Texas. [dinner]

Enjoy your visit with the Chief.

Hey guys made it up to Homer City... I did a small review on my purchase on the MTJ if you want to check it out... http://www.modeltrainjournal.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3381

Another great day visiting Jim. A few calls while I was there but it was unusually quiet. I settled on a Lackawana E8 ABA w/ passenger cars. The set looks great and works very well. The eye doctor said nothing has changed in 2 years but man they dialated those suckers and they still ache. Hope everyone had a great day!

Good morning from Gettysburg. Another beautiful clear morning. Currently it's 56. Highs to be about 90. Might have to turn the A/C on.

Off to Jennerstown to the NASCAR Modified series race. Should be fun. My Mom, Dad, and the Mrs. are going. Tried to get the Boy to go but he's too busy celebrating a friend's 21st birthday with a bunch of people from high school. Hope it's not too hot for the Mrs. out in the sun.

Have a great day.

ALL RIGHT TEXICANS, I WANT MY CHECK!!!!!!!
ROY, BETTER HAVE IT IN HAND WHEN YOU MEET UP WITH ME!!!!

Woke up around 1:30 AM with rain beating on the window to my hotel room. [:)] Forecast is for storms all day and really this evening.

Looking forward to the Club layout visit. Got my pocket full of Pro Mariner LED keychain flashlights for them. Neat little things.

Chuck, don't over do it. Pull things a loose. [:(] I was doing fine with my *** bone and lifted a 5 gal gas container full of gas over the side of the pickup. Let me know it. Can do it fine now but was too soon then. BE CAREFUL.

Time for breakfast and then the store. God bless all.

Chief - you should forget your current line of work and hire yourself out as a Rainmaker. [bow] No matter where you go, you bring downpours. LAZ, Jefelectric and I could use some rain as it is pretty dry in South Central PA. How much would your charge for a visit??[;)][;)][;)] Are you headed to Penn's Woods any time soon? HI GIZ,
60 and to get HOT, near 90?
Tommorrow 96?
Like MITCH said we need rain.

MITCH glad you had a good Aniversery, wish you lots more.
Mine is on the 22nd.

ROY take care of the CHIEF down there.
Watch out for any GRITS bombs?

Got to MOMs yesterday spent all afternoon cutting grass pulling weeds, cutting hedges, and chainsawing cherry tree.
Went and ate at local buffet and was just great!
Veal cuttlets, and meatballs and raviollis, prime rib, rotiseree chicken, fish, along with local foods like pierogis, halushki, Itallian sausage, soups, salads, desserts, and also as much beer as you want all for $11.00.
Great spread, they get about 150 -200 people every friday nite.
If I lived closer I'd be there most fridays but then again I probably would be 300 lbs?

Have agood one.

Morning all. Played a little more with the MTH Lackawana set. Nice set. I'm really happy with it. Weather is getting warm and the AC is on. Looks like I'll workout, and then try to get some stuff done on the layout. I guess I'll be inside for most of the day. Maybe cut the grass later this PM. Hope all have a great day.

Laz - take it from someone who did weigh 300 pounds, that spread sounds GREAT!

Wow - pretty hot here this morning! Trimmed and mowed the lawn - first time since my side started hurting in April! Those guys I hired could do it in about 20 minutes, but there were 4 or 5 of them. Took me about 1:40, but I took a lot of breaks to cool down and keep hydrated. I also paid those guys to clean out around some trees at the back/bottom of my lot. This was the first time I inspected - they are doing a great job, but they went about 10 feet further back than I though they would! Guess I need to call and apologize, my instructions must not have been very good. Hope they don't want more money!

Well - looks like my work at home days are over for the rest of the Summer and maybe the rest of the year. Management shut down the program until they can do some hardware changes. Our friends' the Duncans have agreed to babysit full time the days my wife and I are not at home - DeAnna used to pick them up and take the places all the time anyway. She's a teacher and she's off this Summer so she could babysit for her niece as well. God bless teachers, and especially DeAnna!

Anyway, just resting up - then I'm taking some stuff back to Home Depot for credit and buying some junk to fix stuff up around the house.

PS: We were watching The Wild Wild West dvds last night and the 2nd episode of Season 1 had 2 model trains in it. At first I thought they were trying to pass off some models as real trains, but they panned back and you saw this warlord was showing Jim West that his model train/tank device would be able to destroy American trains etc. I'm not sure, but the setup looked to be in a O gauge - the General locomotive on the train that was destroyed was smoking pretty good. But, the it was not 3 rail tracks. I guess the might have hand laid these tracks and run a wire to the locomotive from off camera or something?

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good afternoon all,

It is sunny and warm in SE Indiana with the temps in the 90s. I watched the US play today and get a tie, which keeps them in contention for the next round. I hope everyone has a good day.

Roy,
When in Denver, if you have time, you need to take in the Museum of Natural History. It really is a well done exhibit/place.
I spent a rainy day there and could have spent another. It is not big like NY's, but they have plenty and if you like taxidermy, you will not find better examples.

Good evening.

Welcome back Colin.

Has anyone seen a post from Dr. John lately?

Chief, We sure could use your services here in PA. Very dry.

Laz, If you lived closer to that buffet, it would probably have to close down.

Marty, Nice looking set. I checked out the pics on MTJ. I have a similar set of F-3s by K-line. Don't know if you care, but the number on your unit, 814, is correct for a Lackawanna E-8. I am told (I never heard them either) that the E-8 had a much deeper sound than the F-3 or GP engines since they used dual 12 cylinder engines rather than the single 16 cylinder used by the F-3s and Geeps. Just a little trivia for you.

A happy father's day to all the Dads out there.

The race today should be better. Nextel race from Michigan.
I missed seeing Saturday Live by Buckeye, yesterday. Guess he is busy.
I look forward to that. Maybe next week.
Where is everyone today ?? Sleeping late ??
