Good Morning,

It's rainy and humid (which is good because we are just a little dry) so today will be a good day to head downstairs and work the industrial area. It's the last area to complete but also one of my favorites as that's where the action accessories are and kids/adults love to pu***he buttons and see the sawmill/log loader/Gabe the lamp lighter/ice station/barrel loader, etc. The west room has the fire station/gas station/car wash/station people that go up and that is also popular.

For those of you that enjoy the Statue of Liberty and fireworks, take a look at the url below--very cool.

Did everyone leave town for the 4th? Where is all the gang? Rained all around but only sprinkled so I could not mow. That made me go up to the "Short Line" and re-arrange track and switches. If not threatening rain tomorrow, I'm taking a load of Wedding Presents Mountains [or partial load in the back seat of ext cab]. I ran in conventional with DCS remote, 1952 Hudson, 4 UBoats strapped together, GP9 and K-Line Trainmaster. Then with DCS remote in digital, two NS SD90 PS2's as the long coal train in lashup [12 loaded hopper cars], seperated one engine, stored it on engine track and then ran the other engine with box cars and trailer train cars. Got to work on a Lionel CV box car. Derails sometimes. Derailed on the back side of the "mountains" and the quick acting circuit breaker [I built from OGR video] tripped [did its job well]. Replaced the CV with one of the many CN box cars I have. All runs fine now. Just a day working on the rail road. [:D]

Staying home for the 4th. Was busy cutting grass yesterday after getting home from work, figured might as well get it done between thunder storms. This morning is bright and sunny with possible thunder showers later today.

I started working on a buidling front for along the wall at the back of the city, it's an Ameritown front that'll become a store, "Lydia's Treasures" after G-daughter #2. Other- wise I've been doing little odds and ends, adding a person here, a little detail there.

Today's project is to paint the BBQ grill I'm refurbishing, new burner, igniter, etc., I think I've some high temp. paint around.

A safe fourth to all.

We are planning a picnic at my in-laws today and seeing on of the two firework displays tonight.

Happy July 4th to everyone!

What a fun day yesterday. The "Good Guys" custom hot rod show was at our State Fair Grounds yesterday and we made a visit. Over 3,000 custom cars and rods on display, we were just blown away by what we saw. Another hobby I could get hooked on.......

I just put on an 8# brisket on the smoker and it will be ready about 7:00 tonight, if anybody is in the neighborhood stop on by, warm fresh peach cobbler for dessert with ice cream. What a country!

After 11 PM and folks just left. Pam's family [that is a crowd] and a neighbor whose hubby is in Iraq came for hot dogs and hamburgers. Did not rain as forecast. [:D] Great fireworks display in the park [over my back fence]. Everyone had to go up and see the trains [NS SD90s PS2] run in loops and then lashup and run and back separate. Everyone was in awe. Now to get the real layout built. Over all, its a great day. God bless all.

Well, I'm going to be gone from the forums for at least a week. Tomorrow my family's heading on a vacation to Minneapolis-St. Paul. We'll be spending time in Winnipeg on the way there and in North Dakota on the way back. I hope to see a lot of trains and buy a lot of trains on way. When we reach the Twin Cities I'm going to stop in and pay a visit to Elliot (Big_Boy_4005), so this will be the first time that I'll meet one of my fellow forum members in person. All in all, I'm really looking this trip!

Roy, us retired folks have to take it easy. Hope all is better now. Sure had fun running both engines on remote at same time. Even got them on the same short track and then moved one to inner track while other was coiming up behind. Switch back and the other went on by and then switch thrown at inner loop and they just went in circles. Got to get the big one built so I can run numerous trains. [:D] You get your big train building built and you will really be in there.
