Thanks for all the good wishes. Boy, am I glad I bought my 'own' toy train gift - I got lots of wonderful 'dad' gifts - pjs, a belt, and home-made things - but no trains!
My model railroading skills came in handy this morning - I've spent it soldering comm wires at church.

Buckeye, at least there's enough wildlife left down south that we can find all we need. As a matter of fact there's a possum in the road out by the mailbox, already pressed and gutted. Don't knock the roadkill till you ty it, I've had a couple of fresh killed deer from out front of the house. Once its butchered and in the freezer, who cares.

By the way, since Chief isn't home did y'all send your snohio up to the Dakotas this past week?

Hope his Diner has a large stock of Tums,Rolaids, and Alka Seltzer for his Dinner Guests and a Stomach Pump would be handy also.I wonder if this is where Loretta Lockhorn learned how to cook.? Maybe Leroy should hire a Lawyer & get her Tuition Money back, If they refuse then he should invite them over for dinner and then they'll find out what kind of a cook she is.[:)][;)][:O].................Keith

Good Morning from the North Coast of NE Ohio

After rain most of the day yesterday, today is cool at 54 and maybe going to the 60’s with partly cloudy skies.

ZW Bob – another great pic.

Well it’s time for some breakfast, so we will go for a car ride and see what we can find. Buckeye, do you want to join us [?]

All be safe

Mornin all! Had thunder last night, had a power blip, enough to set off the doorbell at 2:30 a.m., but nary a drop of rain. At the moment its a cool 64F cloudy with rumbl;ing in the distance.

Took the GD's out to a semi-fancy restaurant last night for the first time, didn't know it was UGA graduation day so it was a bit crowded. For their first time, other than a pizza joint, they behaved like old hands. In a couple of weeks we'll take them to Chattanooga to the aquarium and for a ride on the Tenn. Valley RR. The ChooChoo Holiday Inn has a pretty good package deal.

Took a photo the other afternoon that I'll post over on Sunday Photo fun.

Hi all,

Beautiful day in northern Virginia. Gonna do some grilling in a few.

Just went in the fridge near the layout in the HVAC room and heard some chirping. Apprently, some birds got into the vent system. THey pecked apart the plastic opening grill that the builders installed about 30 feet off the ground and made a nest. That's all I need is feathers coming thru the vent.

Afternoon, everyone.

Warm and sunny in Prattville. We had our graduate recognition service this AM. As I stated earlier, had to wear a robe for this service (not a traditional item for most Baptist ministers). Thankfully the AC was working very well.

My golf trip to Nashville got cancelled. Too much going on this coming week to get away. Oh, well.

Trying to hold the line while Chief is gone. Fort Dixie is ready! There's sweet tea in the moat, bubbling grits in cauldrons on the ballistrades, and barbecue chicken, ribs, pork, brisket and sausage. So if you Yankees decide to invade, you won't go home hungry!

Here in western NY it was a better day than I thought it was going to be. It was sunny all day long but chili with temps in the high 50's. We grilled out Italian and polish sausage with home made potato salad.

We had a nice day at the daughter's graduation yesterday and she's leaving to relocate to Virginia in a week. We were thinking how wierd it is that all our kids have relocated all over the country. Besides one in Virginia, we have one in DC, one in Syracuse, NY, one in Cleveland, one in Kent, OH and one in Athens Georgia. I guess the good news is that it gives me a whole lot of train stores to visit around the country!

Have a good evening all.

Tom, if your going to have Polish sausage at least use the Polish name kielbasa, or kielbasi. This from a second generation Polish American now a Southerner enjoying sweet tea, occasionally a beer (or 2), with his kielbasba and saurekraut on a hard roll. Just be glad you don't have to live with me after that kind of meal.

Was a dreary day here today, overcast, and just enough rain to keep one indoors.

Roger,

I stand corrected!! Actually, years ago when I was in HS I worked at a sausage factory in Buffalo, NY called Malecki Meats. They made the best kielbasa that was ever made. They called it their "Special Polish". My German upbringing included a lot of saurekruat and sausage...and of course and occasional beer.

We get down your way once in a while. My wife's son lives in Bogart, GA. When I was there last year I went to a train store in Watkinsville. The owner's son is a friend of her son Matt. They had a Lionel NS SD80 I wish I would have bought. Are you near there?

Have a good evening.

Tom (spankybird),

Thanks, I'd like to stop in. My oldest son works in Cleveland for City Architecture. He lives in Cleveland Heights. One of these times when we are out that way I will have to drop you a note. We enjoy coming to Cleveland.

Here in Southwestern NY the weather is sunny and cool. Not sure if the sun will last though. Have a good day all.

Good moring everyone!

Cool in pleasant in downtown Prattville, AL this morning. We were teased by a couple of days of hot weather and now it has moderated again. Still, it won't be long until the really HOT summer days arrive.

Hope y'all have a good day!

Hmmmm, Polish sausauge... I could do with one right now. Instead, I'm having 'Flamin' Hot Crunchy Cheetos' for breakfast - that's what the bag says. Cool here today - about 55 - about 10 degrees cooler than 'normal' - whatever that is these days. I'm recovering from doing the middle son's birthday party solo at Lazer Tag yesterday. Lots of black lights, fog and loud music. Even took the 2 year old with me (patting myself on the back) to give the wife a 2-hour break. I must admit offering to do this never occurred to me - she had to ask.

Didn't get to open my new trains this weekend. I hope to do so tonight...

My daughter had a graduation service at her youth group church service last night - wish Dr. John had done it - she and her friends got all dressed up - I stayed home with the baby, while she quasi-ignored my wife in favor of her friends - ah, teenagers... she's now petitioning for a 'cool' cell phone.

Laz, congrats on your fishing prowess - I wish I could do that - I've taken the boys fishing in our retention pond - it's fairly large and they stock it with little fish - we can even see 'em down there - but no bites! David, you have to watch those birds - I've covered our vents with aluminum screening over the years screwed right into the wall, after a few nests got established.

Obviously, the Chief has not read the menu from Saturday morning. I guess he is slipping more and more with age.

Doug, try really small hooks and some grubs.
