Good Morning,

A good but tiring weekend. We had Bill Cosby in town for two shows Saturday with 5,400 guests. He's such a gentleman and a treat to work with his manager. His first show was at 5:00 p.m. and second one at 8:00, he did over two hours by himself for each show and mostly different material for the second show. It got a little exciting between shows as some of the 8:00 audience started to arrive before the 1st show ended but it all worked out was we are a very large facility. I'll never understand why guests show up an hour early with a reserved ticket. And the audience was in a great mood, not much drinking prior to the show, thank goodness. We had part of the Jeff Foxworthy tour here two weeks ago (Ron White featured comedian) on a Friday night--horrible experience to say the least. I don't mind working with a guest that's had a drink or two but don't show up after you've had a six pack and try and talk to me about a problem! The funniest part was that Ron White had been in Raleigh the week before and shared some stories from that concert, someday I'll share those stories with you.

So today is going to trainroom time, I neglected it last week as the weather turned warm and it was so good to get outside. We woke up to 4" of partly cloudy this morning so I need to get busy.

Cloudy here and a little cool (47). Supposed to be nice tomorrow for our class excursion to West Texas.

Pat (eZAK) - good luck on getting the next project!

Doug - thanks for the support - comiseration is important to make it through these interesting times! Luckily - they just moved 9th grade into the high schools from the junior high. Thus my daughter will go to high school next year and get out of the Jr high morass.

Daan - yep Spring is on the way here also - weeds are starting to grow like crazy to get a jump on the normal grass.

Laz - I also liked the hat. I had a chance to do some targets with a 58 caliber civil war muzzle loader replica. Way cool - you can almost watch the bullet on its path. It really puts some perspective on the civil war stories when you read how fast they could reload and shot accurately.

Buckeye - Thanks for the welcome back although I am unsure if it is any more secure or not!

Gotta go pack for the trip tomorrow. "See" you guys later if I have time - otherwise I will be back Saturday.

Thanks ROY for the kudos on the hat. Had it made by a guy in Oklahoma about 10 years ago. I sometimes like to wear it for flintlock season here.
Last 3 deer I got with the flintlock. 2004,2003,2001. You get one shot so everything must happen right. I guess I'm a little lucky.

Thanks for the info. In the past medina was only two shows, but this year theres three. So they must be making money. This show i wont be sitting a table, I am taking my 4yr old grandson to his first train show.

Hi Boxcar - That is the same day as the Eastlake North High shcool show.

That's sure poor planing on someones part. Two shows so close together on the same day [V]

Wow, what a long Town Board meeting. Now to hit the hay. Got Dr's apt tomorrow and may just go to the Crazy Fire Mongolian stir fry. Have not started up a train all day. [:(] Used my chipper shreader and ground up some limbs. may hit 70 degrees tomorrow. Saw activity on the pond this afternoon. Also all the turtles up on logs sunning. Saw weather for Harrisburg PA and saw so patches of PINK passing over it around Thursday and then Saturday. No pink please but all sun shine. LAZ, that is your assignment. Upper Left bank checkin in here. Beautiful blue skies today high of 30, but nice in the sun.
Still trying to find the bulbs for the 022's. Think I'll order the LED's from the ebay guy, at least they wont melt the lanterns.
Had to go to a city council meeting tonight to get approval of a remodeling contract I proposed to redo the Police Station. When finished it will be one of the coolest cop shops in the Northwest. It is currently a Log Home.
My contract was approved, so work will begin in a couple days and should run about 2 months.
Sounds like a lot of work for a guy that would rather retire...............Tim

Chief – we waited as long as we could before starting the meeting, but looks like you preferred to go to a Southern Meeting instead of our Forum meeting. Don’t you understand that TRAINS come first.

Boxcar Bill- Just for the other forum members, these two shows are about 50 miles apart, which a buyer could make both shows in one day, but most of the dealers usually
would have been at both shows, so now, neither show will have a good turnout of dealers

Snowing at home today but just grey downtown. Remember my commuting adventure I mentioned last week? Last eve., Metra papered the train cars with paper notes explaining what happened. "Last Friday, a disabled freight train west of Barrington caused major train delays which affected many of our Northwest Line customers. The freight broke down prior to the evening rush hour at a critical spot where only those trains on the center track from Chicago were able to switch to the opposite track at Barrington to bypass the disabled train. For safety reasons these trains has to run at greatly reduced speeds since the inbound track does not have signals for westbound train operations. Passengers on Crystal Lake trains were unloaded at Barrington to be picked up by McHenry or Harvard trains, which then ran (slowly) to their destinations. Those empty Crystal Lake trains were then moved up behind the disabled freight train to get them out of the way until the freight train could be moved. We know you never want to be delayed, especially not on a Friday evening. Unfortunately, with the location of the freight train we had few options. Please accept our sincere apology. Metra" I never realized the tracks were only signaled one way - opposite sides of course - this being former Chicago and North Western.

Kids were sick yesterday so I just had to stop off at the hobby store to buy them a litle cheer-up treat. 'Course as long as I was there I could check out the sparse O offerings. But I found some LifeLike 'Mountain Paper' I'm going to experiment with - two sheets of 3 by 2 ft colored paper - you wet it, crumple it up, make a mountain shape and it allegedly keeps its shape. Congratulations on the new police station job, pigseyes.

Saw a Route Rock covered hopper in faded banruptcy blue in North Ave. yard this morning. That's probably today's highlight! [:)]Well, have a great day.

Our ISP has been down since last night and I really missed it earlier this morning. Since we live in the country we use a wireless broadband and it's been flawless for the last 18 months, hope this is an isolated incident as I've been spoiled with it's reliability and speed.

If you haven't checked out David V. latest post and progress you should, amazing attention to detail.

Larry, it is same stuff. I paid the retail price. Don't be fooled by the photo stats (that is apparently for the dealer pack). It is just two 36 by 24 sheets - the directions say to wet thoroughly, ball it up, then uncrinkle it and set it up and it should hold it's shape - they recommend gluing down the edges and also inserting a few cardboard cut-out 'shapers' (not included. I'm going to see if it'll give me a small low tunnel for use with the Lionel Tunnel portals I bought a few weeks ago. I haven't opened the bag yet to get a sense of the paper.

Hey Doug M. Speaking of tunnels, Frankie built some for the HO layut I jsut took apart. He built them out of Hydrocal. They are paper thin. I just grabbed them and they came up in one piece. Hard as a rock but thin and light weight. Well, Dr. gave me a great report. Lost another 2 lbs and my colestrol [LDL] was down from 179 to 88. He thinks it will go below 70 if I keep it up. [:D] My blood pressure two weeks ago was 106 over 68 and today it was 108 over 70. Now I need to celebrate with a big plate of fried seafood. [:D] So pretty I should be in the boat on the pond. Warmer outside than in the house. Had to wait for a guy [who was late] that was borrowing my chipper shreader. My schedule now has probably changed. May be in Kansas City in April instead of Nashville TN. Any good train stores in KC?

Just had the AOL Spyware program auto-run on my computer, it found 6 programs ranging from low threat to extreme. How does one determin which programs to block or do you automatically block them all?[%-)]

Wife came home this PM and not feeling good. She had some skin places taken off and the meds the Dr. gave her reacted. She has been sleeping in our bedroom which is under the bedroom with the layout on the carpeted floor. Well, if you run trains, it sounds like horses running around upstairs. So, no running trains tonight. [:(] Guess I will watch Law and Order SVU and hit the bed. Got 9 AM Dr's apt and then start getting ready to go to LAZland Thursday. Now Pro Mariner wants us to book all of our flights now. Then reimburse us within a few days. Hope they don't get stuck with tickets unused. Guess I will be booking my flight to and from Columbus. Should I build in Buckeye time? HUMM
