Home from County Task Force meetings [took all day]. 2.3 of rain and the 2 fell in 20 minutes. It is now 47 at 6:50. Lake is jumping up fast and the river below [with no discharge] is at flood stage. Now wife is crying to fire up gas logs. She thinks that central heat needs help the minute it gets windy outside. [:0] That is why her nick name is "Lucy" [from I Love Lucy]. [;)] Well, time to chow down as I've only had one roast beef sandwich all day and three glasses of sweet ice tea. Later.

Nice house pigseyes! Is that your home??
If so, you really picked a nice place on the earth to live!

I'm just back of a trip organized by my work to the musical "the lion king". It was amazing and I'm really impressed.. They used a lot of techniques to get the atmosphere and the costumes and backdrops where amazing. We could learn something out of that.
Somehow they managed perfectly to mimic difficult scene's like running buffalo's, waterfall river, rizing sun and water evaporating.
It was a very well spent evening, I loved it.

Take care, and if you get the chance, go and see it.

HI GUYS,
Was down in the train room playin till 1015 had fun no major wrecks. Yea!!!!!
Did not get the DCS from MTH the guys at the shop showed me how it works and I was impressed but since I don't have any MTH engines, I htink I will wait. They showed me the manual and ran engines but the thing that got me was that the DCS has to be rewired to 16 gauge wire and a double wire in fact. It would take me quite a while to acompli***his (the rewiring). Thought about using only one line but thought it was a little expensive $245 for having one line. Oh well I will just wait and see. Got some fake grass actually felt that looks like grass and more people for the town.

LAZ Better be careful. DCS is hard to work and wire. [;)] You should see my wiring. All temp on the carpet and mostly old Lionel lockons and telephone station wire [just use a pair for common and a pair for +.]. Got some station wire soldered to track sections. Only 16 guage is from transformer to quick acting circuit breaker box, from the box to TIU and from TIU to a point near the track. From there, soldered several station wires to a couple of places around the track. Added more jumpers from one lockon to another to make conventional eninges run right. DCS PS2's originally ran better than the conventionals. Hey, email me.

Now Chief,

I'm not sure what newspaper you found that item in, but it wasn't in this morning's San Francisco Chronicle. I like to believe that is because your stripper story is apocryphal. Of course, here in San Francisco the more likely explanation is that telling a group of 8th graders that stripping is an acceptable career doesn't really qualify as "news". After all, in San Francisco, strippers are unionized and have good benefits. That's better than you'll do at Wal-Mart...

Your San Francisco correspondent,

Hello all. Got the children down, worked on shutterbug, have a red dot by my name now. With Toms help should have a pic later.

Nice house Tim. Looks to be about $1.5 mil if it was in my neck of the woods. About $3 if it was at the beach. Way too much white stuff, add more green and brown to your house layout please.

Have a great night all

Good Morning America and Other Parts of the World!

I've been looking at Tim's house covered in snow and just felt that there was something missing in the photo. Here is my version:

[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] [8D][8D][8D][8D]
If he would turn that Jeep sideways in the front of the house, the Chrysler Corporation would be using this as their corporate Christmas card next year and Tim would have enough money to not only have a new train set but his own passenger car to ride across America. Beautiful place, Tim. I'm dreaming of a ...... I'll hold off singing until next year.

As to the stripper story, it was all over the radio news in Ohio.[:D] The best part of the story is how the middle school principal was undecided when asked if the career counselor was going to be invited back next year.

I wonder where the Chief is this morning and why isn't he up and posting. Spankybird must be sleeping in, too. Daan hasn't said much of late from Holland. I always thought all the canals froze in Holland in the winter. Every time I read one of Daan's post concerning the weather, it sounds more like Miami Beach.

Someone, was it TurboOne, was trying to post their photo with their signature. Put the img codes at the start and end of the photo code. BTW, the photo in the signiture helps you to find your posts much faster when looking through a topic.

Does everyone one know about the free ad blocker software that MicroSoft has on their web site for downloading? The computer genius on one of the Columbus radio stations was talking about it yesterday.

There is a train show in Dayton and Wheeling this weekend, like I really need more stuff to store in the closet. [:D]

Good Morning all,

NE Ohio is a cool 28 deg and quite, no snow for now.

PE Tim – great looking house and mountain in the back ground.

Chief – Buckeye is correct, you will pay the price for not being truthfull.

Laz – Did you ever pick up the OGR DCS video [?] It’s wroth the $20.00, if you don’t have it, do yourself a favor and get it. When I added DCS, back I 2002, all I did was take the wires from my track and disconnected them from the ZW, place them to the TIU and added new wires from the TIU to the ZW. DCS was up and running WITHOUT any rewiring. Try it before you do it. The price is less than all the add ons with TMCC.

Trubo – we will help you with your pic. Check you e-mail. BTW good luck with the coffee pot thread on Garden RR forum. It was tried a few months ago and it didn’t take off. I think this time it will go.

Pick of the Day

all be safe

TOM (SPANKYBIRD)
I will pick up the video on the DCS and check it out. I am going to the Greenberg Show at York tomorrow so I think someone down there will have it?
Just read in the paper that a towboat on the Ohio River had sunk killing 3 people. That wasn't the same one that was in the pics on Pg.152 of the coffee pot?
Cooler her 27 at 700 this mornin.
Have a good one!

Morning all. Gosh, it is cold here today - yesterday was something like the 3rd coldest day in Chicago... I worked on the layout a bit last evening in between watching Simpson's DVD and playing baseball on the Playstation. Tried to talk my boy into building some plasticville models I got - but no joy. He's intrigued but got a new video game he wants to wring out. I cut out some window screening from this huge roll I have in different colors to experiment with making fences - and added some misc. bar magnets I have around to enhance the tank farm. I also made a little magnet I can hang from my Marx crane and pick up metallic things.

It was fun working on these little things while listening to old radio shows I've taped over the years - World News Today from 1943 and Fibber Magee and Molly. My kids think I'm nuts since I'm too young to be 'nostalgic' about it all but I do like to listen to 'em.

The power somehow went out all of a sudden to the accessories - which I have hooked up to a relatively new trainset transformer - that's plugged into the same power bar as everything else. I wonder what happened to it. I didn't touch it - it controls the WW2 pylon, and rotating beacon only. Oh well, something to trouble-shoot I guess.

I also tied a streamlined car from a 1701 that lionelosi v. kindly gave to me - my first passenger car - to the back of my 2-4-2 - it looks neat. Someday, I'll get the other pieces and cobble a jr. streamliner together.

Daan, I saw Lion King, it sure is impressive what can be done with those costumes.
Pigseye, what a beautiful home. Never seen real mountains like that.
Buckeye, that Microsoft ad-blocker beta is not really free - they intend to hook you on it then sell you updates via subscription in a few months. There are better free alternatives out there. I can reference some if you wish.

Good morning all,

Buckeye, way to make a great scene even better.

Tom thanks for the help with pic, and the encouragement with Garden forum. Yes folks I'll do anything to get the misses playing trains.

Laz, almost caught you in temp, we got down to 33, but today should be a balmy 75, more t shirt and shorts. But come about 3:30, the temp drops about 20 degrees in half an hour. By 6:30 its down to 40s.

Going to a garden railway meeting today, they have waterfalls, with real water and more. Will be taking digital camera with me, so maybe on Sunday I can share pics with Toms sunday fun photos.

Take care all

Doug,

I spend a lot of late Saturday afternoons on the road during the school year, returning home after judging bands all day. One of my favorite programs on NPR is Garrison Keeler and The Prairie Home Comapnion, he's truly a talented performer and I'm hooked on his show. Even if I'm not on the road I'll turn it on here at home.

If any of you have not heard his two hour show you owe it to yourself to tune in at 5:00 p.m. on saturday's. Even our youngest son (26) is hooked, he has gone to the Fitzgerald in St. Paul to see live broadcasts. Radio at it's best.

Morning gang. Been BS on emails to some of YUZ GIZ [have to speak YANKEE as so many on here]. [;)] Got the TMCC engine going about midnight. Man, it smokes. Had to turn it off from remote as a couple of loops and the room was full. Think there will be an exhaust fan installed in the ceiling of the real tain room. OH, the Buckeyes are trying. Never got below freezing but high is only up to 40 now with winds. Big change from 68 yesterday and 78 the day before. Funny thing is, when the Buckeyes try to get me, they get it worse. [:D] Will play somemore with the TMCC engine on the DCS. I smell country ham cooking!!!!! Wife is making country ham biscuits, grits and red eye gravy. WOW. Got to GO!!! [:D] God bless all.

PS. forgot, the Stripper story was on my Road Runner homepage. I use it whne I sign on to internet. It has headlines on it. It sure is nice to have all these "Left Bankers" at the coffee pot now. We are covering the nation, Canada and across the ocean [DAAN].

Jon, we are Garrison Keeler and The Prairie Home Comapnion fans. We get it on NPR [the staion I listen to all the time] at 5 on Saturday and then repeated at 1 on Sunday [so if we miss it on Sat., we get another chance on Sunday].

Buckeye, I'm running Ad-Aware [from Daan's "neck of the woods"] and Nortron 2004. Norton has the anit-spam, popup blocker, firewall [works good] and they recommended for me to keep Ad-Aware too. You do have to check youranit-spam file once in a while. It may throw an email in there from someone taht is not on your apporved list. Laz sent me one and it went there. Just added him to my approved list and now it will be OK. If one does slip by [not very often], you just add it to anit-spam. You never see them. With ad-Aware, you can run a scan and it will find any "bugs" that sneaked in [not usually any]. You can control the cookies being crunched and have them saved for your favorite sites. Doug may have some better ones.

Good Morning all,

NE Ohio is a cool 20 deg with light snow. The weatherman says a good chance of lake effect snow today up to 8” to 16”, boy I am glad that I moved out of the snow belt.

TurboOne Tim – Glad we could help. Did you check the syntax and see what you were doing wrong [?]

PE Tim – We have the address for Chrysler, after all, they are our largest customer. And we make many parts for that Jeep.

Chief –Buckeye and I are trying to send you some Ohio,

OK – do you guys remember when the Feds were concerned about terrorist attacks on our trains [?] They started to clamp down on railfanning and all. So is it just me, or have you noticed how many derailment s we are having [?] Another tanker train in Texas last night. It seams like one per week. Has a concern become a reality [?]

All be safe

[}:)] Not sticking to anything but a few bushes and some leaves on the ground. Hope the Yankee bunch get covered over with OHIO today. [:p] Stay in and run trains is the word for me.
