 Good Morning All:

Turned on the computer this AM and no email notices of coffee pot thread postings. Panicked until I realized the email thingy was turned off. I need to find that Toy Trains Anonymous group.

RT and Chief- Plan to check out www.nstrains.com after I post.

How about that Kyle Bush. First NASCAR driver in history to win two top races on the same day. He could win another today if the rain stays away. I sorta hope today's race is rain out so I can watch it tomorrow morning. It's tough for me to stay awake for those night races.

I would like to have the NASCAR new rides as a train, Kyle Bush 18, Dale Jr. 88, Stewart 14, Etc. I agree with RT that they are not cost effective to produce. I am going to try custom decaling my own. If I don't post pictures you know it didn't work.

How many rare "I Love Ohio" cars to you have to find before they become a common car?

See you later.

Patrick

Only thing rare is somebody other than an Ohioan would want one the cars them selves very common you find them on ebay almost every day and definite at train shows might even find one at a gun show or local hobby shop after being to a gun show, talking about gun show those Ohio boxcars make good targets

Morning all.  Day two of the roaring blowers and dehumidifiers. Off to church. Snowed more overnight. More than I thought. At least it's sunny.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a snowy 24 degrees. Got about 2 inches of the white stuff last night. Going up to 30 today, with a few more flurries.

Today is the Nascar race from CA. Fontana. I plan on watching that. Maybe in the train room , while I run some trains. Otherwise, just an easy day.

Dining car was here for the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning!  Coffee is good this morning!

I need to install the new ceiling fan.  A buddy called yesterday, said he was in his work clothes and did  I need help with the fan.  Well, we were out eating lunch and then going to go buy one, so uh - not now, but thanks for the offer?  Found out his wife volunteered him as a helper to my wife!  But, actualy, I think I can do this by myself - it should just hook up?  I'll check the directions first though.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Brutus, no no no, you read directions only after you find out it doesn't work the way you did it. A hammer and screwdriver are helpful about there.

I've changed 4 of them myself .... one in my cathedral ceiling on my tiptoes on top of a folding ladder twice ..... hair raising to say the least ... LOL . They're fairly simple . I always had wife and I move the couch close to the ladder in case I had to do a head dive for it if I lost my balance ..... yea .... and a couple stiff drinks afterwards to calm my nerves ... Afternoon all.  Went to SS and then Wally World.  Then to Lowes and came out with $100+ sales receipt.  Seems I can not leave that store with out spending less than $100 and not have a basket full.  Banged Head  Now to load most of in the back seat area of my pickup to take to the lake house.  Did get gas grill [came with the house] cleaned and operating.  Been ignored as far as maintenance went.  Do have to replace the boards on the side "table" and front dropdown "table".  Just mainly needed a good cleaning and getting HOT.  Burned for a while after I turned the gas off.  As it sits on front deck, I got a cover for it.  Burners were in great shape.  Should be OK now.

Buckeye, got you text message.  BTW: seems a lot of the RARE I Love OH box cars are on the auction sites for $10. Laugh  NC Box Cars are going for $20. Whistling

No Snohio here.  Never got that cold. Approve  Sunny and warming fast.  Well, go to get upstairs and finally slide all the Christmas tubs under layout. Later

Nice chat with Sir J, Brutus and RT last night. Glad they had the patience to help me set up. Brutus' ceiling fan gives me an idea. I can ask the restorers what it'd cost to tap into the ceiling power cable I can see so I could hang a light in the dining room. It's never had one.

Kurt, Most any cleaner that does not leave any kind of residue should do it. Personally my preference would be de-natured alcohol, the only thing is it will really dry out your hands unless you wear some rubber/latex gloves.

That building really looks sweet, especially the deterioration around the bottom. Thumbs Up

If they can find it.  Easy.  I have been putting up ceiling fans with light kits.  With the new remotes, you can turn on light without fan, fan without light or both.

 Good afternoon guys,

We went to a gun show in York yesterday, in what is the Orange Hall during the TCA show.  It was packed and they were selling big time.  Then stopped at Cool Trains on the way home and my buddy and I picked up a bunch of HO bargains from a lot of used and mostly unused stuff that the owner had just purchased.  We were the first ones to go through the boxes and got some great buys.

Today was busy also, went to early church, then breakfast with friends, then to visit FIL at nursing home, then back to church for chicken and waffle dinner.  Now relaxing and letting that wear off.

I must get busy and add some stuff to my train inventory.  Would like to check out insurance as I have none on train items at this point other than home owners content insurance.

Buckeye, You will have to recruit Laz to supply the beer bottles for the pervious pavements.   Laugh

Thanks DougDG!  For the cleaner suggestion and the props.  I'll try the alcohol on the next one.

Kurt, I've always used de-natured alcohol.  Rubbing alcohol will work on rubber so I do not use it.  Left you a message on SPF.  Good job.

Afternoon all!

Chuck - sunny and 50's here. Nothin better than cars and trains going in circles - no wonder toy train buffs tend to be NASCAR fans also.

I think I just got my dual router network going here. This will allow me to drop the Time-Warner cable account. Before I do that I have to manage my e-mail over to AT&T (next challenge that I am sure will eat up another 5 -10 hours of time - isn't the internet great?).

While I was researching and experimenting with the router setups - I was watching the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" on the Fox Movie Network." The kid pulls a nice under-the-bed Lionel layout out from under his bed (who knew the movie was about toy trains - eh!) and there is a stalled New Haven electric loco and SF Super Chief train when they kill all the earths power for 30 min. Great show! When I was a kid, the local movie theater (The old Bellaire in Houston) showed a double or triple feature set of old B horror and science fiction flicks on Sat mornings for 25 cents, so I got to see a lot of these old movies on the big screen. Great fun sitting in the balcony and tossing popcorn in a theater full of kids.

Hope everyone is having a great day today.

Regards, Roy

The site is really dragging it's feet this afternoon.

Some are watching NASCAR, some are at their lake cottage, some are placing pictures on the weekend picture thread, some are looking for "I Love OH" cars, some are on the Tardis, and some are actually working on their layouts!
