Ran trains the past 2 nites. All good NO PILE UPs!!! I had one stall out and couldn't figure out what happened? So started taking one car off at a time and low and behold found the cluperit. On a MTH passenger car the wire wore through the insulation and shorted out. I put some lectical tape around wound and good as new. I also tucked the wire down so we don't have that again.

Well, wife is working tonight to fulfill her monthly obligation of two shifts. Got kids and dog to myself tonight and boy are they off the chain! Just about time for bed and they have more energy than I have had all day.
We are under Tornado warnings. While the satellite is up, we are watching the Military Channel which has a program on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan...rather neat to watch. Glad they're on our side!
Regarding the Williams GG1, they are nice pieces. I have 2332. I have not as yet put the motors in Series to provide slower low end speeds, but will be doing that project soon. If you haven't done so yet, you may want to do that while you have the hood off for the horn issue. I think the reviews said that the horn is pretty close to what a real GG1 sounded like.

Jon, pack your butt up and go back Nawth. You brought wet cold weather South with you. Calling for SNOHIO tomorrow afternoon and into early Monday. Maybe as much as 6". Was calling for 9" but they think it will weaken. Buckeye put you up to it, I know.
Rainy and cold. Sold 47 chargers. Walked out at 6 PM. Tired. Went to Hooters for take out wings. Got my eyes full. While waiting, some kid has his birthday wish. Stood on stool and the Hooters girls surrounded him and sang. Even saw a Dad take a about 3 year old and 5 year old to rest room. They were getting their eyes full too. HUMMM Guess some parents don't care.
Watching forecast. If sleet and freezing rain starts earlier than they say it might, I will hit the road.

Good afternoon all, went to TCA Western Div. local meet today. Hung out with my friend who operates the floor layout for demonstrating DCS etc. He was running the 19th century stuff with woodsided cars and the 999 NY@HRRR steam engine. The real one broke a speed record back when. The engine sure looks small by today's standards. There was lots of stuff for sale on the tables but a lot of it was same stuff that comes around every meet.
Got my biggest kick out of watching a little boy play with a box full of old Lionel trains that the club uses just for that purpose. He was pulling out track and putting it together then pushing the train around once he was set up. With him no transformer was no problem.
Show and tell segment of meet lasted way too long. Theme was "Trains I love". That's pretty tough for most of us. I like all of mine. Otherwise, I would'nt have bought them. There were door prizes and a raffle but I came up empty on both counts.
Weather out here is getting nice and warm again. It was about 80 in the garage this afternoon. I gave the trains a good work out with no crashes but tripped my circuit breaker account running too many things on garage circuit.
Next meet will be at TTOS Southwestern Division one week from tomorrow. Should be a more productive meet as far as trading goes but it usually is. I talked to repair clinic man today regarding my Williams scale GG1. It has a bad order horn. I tried a few hints to make it blow but nothing yet. I need to try it with a different transformer. If that does'nt work, I probably need a new board or something. It's just a simple horn that sounds like a bike horn and is electronic (no battery needed). The engine is a good puller. I was running about 25 cars today and some of them pretty heavy with no problem.
Also gave my ACL A-B-A units proto 1 MTH a good workout today too. They are proto 1 but I have a BCR battery replacement in it with good results. I like to exercise all of my engines that sit too much. I should run something different every day.
I took a peak at the new MTH/Lionel catalog for 2009 online which is the joint venture they are doing for the classic old trains. I can't beleive the amount of stuff in the catalog. It looks like they have almost all the popular Pre War trains and accessories in there. I wonder if they are going to produce all of it in a single year? Is'nt it ironic that Lionel produced a lot of this stuff originally at the beginning of the great depression after 1929. Now the economy is bad again and they are doing the same thing. They say history repeats itself.

Checked out a 1/43 RC car at a local hobby shop, pretty neat! A little pricey for my layout though at $150 for the car and $120 for the controller/battery charger. Picked up some basement supplies at Home Depot. I'll work on the basement tomorrow, today has turned into some good Father/Son time.

I'm on the fence this time... I have my eye on the Korber Cannery this month...That will pretty much eat up the budget for awhile, so not sure about the show. Did pick-up an Atlas Santa Fe Bobber caboose $8 delivered. Saw them at the last show for $20.
Ran the H16-44, shorted out when a car derailed at a switch, everything works except movement. Will need to work on that later. Running the dockside switcher with 3451, and 3461 log dump cars.
SJ, I have read about LEDs being used in place of tungsten bulbs. I have not seen them available locally as of yet. That would be a welcome addition to our house.
Good morning everyone. I was forced to watch a Girly movie last night by my wife and daughter....Oh well, I made them watch some train programs afterward. Kids are off the chain. Currently have all the pillows off our bed, on the floor with all the covers over them and they are jumping into the pile. We have Chinese lessons and violin lessons....son gets break from the rest of his homework.
Supposed to get to upper 70s today, but a thunderstorm is heading our way with temps into the 40s tomorrow...crazy.
With any luck, I'll get to do some layout work today. I have been waiting on some parts to arrive from Lionel. They said 7 to 10 days, but it is over two weeks. I emailed them, but have not heard back from them. Oh well.

It's a sunny and cold 28 degrees. Going up to 34 today with a few snow flurries.
Today is busy. I have the usual chores around the house and then I will relax. Maybe run trains for a few hours, later.
Legs are a little sore today. Yesterday was a very busy day.
Dining car was here and we had Cheerios for breakfast.
