RT - I tried to get to www.hobbystation.com and keep coming up with 1, 2, 3 reg.co.uk, a domain name registration web site. Did you have any better luck?

I don't have any Lionel engines, but have heard they are under powered, at least the engines in the sets.

Good Afternoon All from windy Southern Ohio

I’ve had a pretty busy day so far.  Cleaned house, washed my car, had a meeting and did some maintenance at church.  I got some parts at radio shack for a spotlight repair job, and need to re-caulk the shower.  Old caulk removed yesterday.

GregM – I have been saying a prayer for fair employment during the special intentions during Mass for weeks now, and I have Faith it is working

Chief - You feeling better?

A little work then a little play

May God bless

Jim

I was surprised that they didn't sell better, just wonder what kind of marketing plan they had. Seems like if it was numbered right you could sell a cow pattie at the tracks.

Jack--point of clarification, my son and I both ride Honda's, HD is too rich for my budget plus theres the reliability factor (RICH no harm intended so don't flame me).  I have owned Asian bikes since 1969 except for one major slip up in '71 when I owned a 650 Triumph-------the engine seized with my brand new wife on the back in 1972, when the engine seized the chain stopped and locked the rear wheel going 60 MPH for about 50', pulled in the clutch and that released the engine/chain, super scary.  Sold the bike after the 2nd time it happened after they supposedly "fixed it".

HD is much better now than it's ever been as far as reliability is concerned but IMO way overpriced when compared to the competition.  It's much like owning a John Deere tractor, you are paying a lot for that green paint Approve

Afternoon all!

Took the kids out to indoor playplace this am, and off to get Birthday present for 4-yo's friend at school.  All finished with present, and card, and valentines gifts for the kiddies!

Now onto dinner.

I'll turn the beacon on early just in case you're in the neighborhood.  Did you realize that beacon is one letter away from bacon???...MMmmmmmm bacon!  Maybe BLT's tonight!

Cardiologist visit.  EKG, heart is fine.  Next month, eco stress test.  Is shorter and better than nuclear stress test.  Been 3 years since I had my last test.

Will the proud Dad and Granddad step forward. Approve

Evening Folks,

Just dropping in for a quick cup.  As usual busy at work.  Feeling somewhat better, not need the inhaler on a regular basis.  Nurse at school checks my lungs for me on a regular basis.  Weather here has been delightful, now they are calling for the proverbial wintry mix over the weekend.  I guess Spring is not here quite yet.

Filled out my registration card for the York Meet tonight. Will drop in the mail tomorrow.

Take care

Jon....The Honda you own was probably made in East Liberty, OHIO by a bunch of farmers.   Every year Honda has a homecoming and their motorcycles are all over Central Ohio on tours.

Storm roared through Central Ohio.  Haven't seen any damage, but when it gets light in the morning, who knows what we will see.

Wow, you are right Doug!  Not sure what it would normally go for, but I figure that decimal needs to move over a digit.  I notice it had only one view before it was purchased.  I'd have to jump on that deal.  Of course they would probably want to back out of the sale, and I guess I'd have to give it to them as it is an obvious mistake.

Was a productive night.  Fixed a "Lackawanna Express" boxcar that needed new trucks on it.  One thing about purchasing from a reputable train store, the car arrived with the broken truck.  The Train-Station sent me a set to replace both trucks.  Customer service seems to be lacking in so many of the purchases we make these days, good to see it does still exist.  I also have a SOO switcher from the late 70s that has a broken coupler.  I picked up a new one and will make it an operating coupler, but will have to do a little work on it.  I tried to work on the Polar Express tender, but will have to replace the whole truck assembly.  Oh Well.

Have a great night,
Dennis

Evening all. Raining all day. Getting lots colder. Just finished supper, put the youngest to bed, cleaned up and then studied with the middle boy. Just realized there's one of his teachers I've never heard from. Gotta track him down tomorrow. He's apparently got an ortho appt in the middle of school to get his knee looked at - just got the bill for the immediate care visit last week. Thank goodness for some insurance! Hope to read the paper for a while and run some trains while the rest of the planet watches Lost.

That is quite the price, Doug.

I sold him some stuff once and he was looking for anyway to save on shipping and it wasn't much to start with hes a tight one when it comes to a dollar. But you have to be to run a bussiness. And with the new ebay fees and rules where you have to use paypal or some type of electronic payment system it getting to expensive to use them for the common joe unless you just want to get rid of some items and not worried about your final dollar out of it.

well beacon on and I'm out of here take care all will see you all later.

Looks like shake and bake may have a little less train money soon according to yahoo news

Man, I love those old Pink Panther movies!  "It was a minky with a bumb!"  "Zat is not my dog!"

Are the new ones any good?  Peter Sellers was just the best.

A little train stuff today - mostly picked up some supplies to make a prototype for a project...

Rained all day here - temps dropped all day and now it's in the 30's again.  Wife is sick - told her and told her to call doc for 3 days now, but she wouldn't do it.  Now she is coughing, has a temp, and just laying in a recliner and moaning.  Chief, what do you suggest?  She's allergic to codiene :(  Doc called in some asthma meds so hope that helps.

In other news, the mother-in-law is sick too so no visit this weekend.  Need to see if I can get my overtime back, I cancelled it since they were visiting.

Tardis is ready and this time I'll pick up Charlie first and then the rest of yuz guys, lol!

Doug W (NOT A GRUMP) Happy B-Day

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

 Good Morning Folks,

I don't have too leave so early this AM so I thought I'd stop and sit for a spell.  Coffee is nice and strong this AM just like I like it.  Schools are closed Monday so I am looking forward to the long weekend.   The new Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center and the just opened, newly renovated, Wills House in downtown Gettysburg are offering free admission this weekend (Friday - Monday).  The Wills House (where Lincoln spent the night) is right on the corner at the center of town just a short walk from the restored Train Station where Lincoln arrived prior to his famous speech.  Hope to get there to see all three this weekend.  Nothing like free admission to draw a crowd.

Great to hear that Dennis may make it to York, maybe that will get the Chief motivated to visit the world famous Eastern Division TCA Meet.  Been looking at an MTH Flying Yankee set with PS 2.0. Has anyone here on the Pot got one, seen one or run one?  Saw one that sold for $260 on eBay. I was thinking about the Lionel Repro that they just issued,  but there's a new thread that mentioned runability issues.  The originals are either too much $$$ or their condition is shaky best, plus the fact that I am very cheap. Smile,Wink, & Grin

Not much planned for Valentine's Day.  We may be going out to dinner with a friend. No fancy dinner with candlelight, moonlight and violins for us. I did order some special chocolates. Need to get a card. Our son called and was discussing V Day gifts for his GF.  They have been dating since October.  Ahhh... young love.

Well, I better get moving. Have to get showered and on the road by 7:00.

Have a great day.

Morning!

Someone from Eco Center was out canvassing in the rain last night..."They" (lobbist 'activist' group) want to get the 'toxics' (whatever "they" consider "toxics" to be) out of children's toys.

Well it was about 7:15pm, still making dinner and awaiting Bride's arrival.  Dog, barking, children running laps and screaming, and this guy comes to the door.  Told him I wasn't interested...dog runs out to play with him, both kids at the door asking 20 questions...  He hesitates, and says ..."uh ok, I can see you're busy".

...he he...New greeting for the door to doorers!  Smile,Wink, & Grin  Let me know if you need to borrow the brood!

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps dropping and very windy.  Was not 100% yestreday so just did weights and soccer ball juggling last night.  Went to bed after "Lost".  That show gets stranger and stranger with each episode.  The "saucy wench" wants to thank all who made get well comments as she is feeling better today.  Worked the last day and a half on a report at work only to be told that it was not needed.  Grrrrrr!  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  I will have the beacon lit again as there is no TV tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
