Glad to be over that flu and back at work for the day. Boy, it sure feels good to feel good. Looks like Chicago will miss this storm - that's a nice change - although it's only in the 20s today. I haven't even looked at the trains in a week. Hope to rectify that this weekend.
Hi Doug.....Welcome back. I'm glad you are feeling good. And YES, you were missed. Want some snow from Ohio ?? It's bad here.
Chuck
anjdevil2, please NO snow or ice down hear in south Florida(WPB)as people drive bad enough as is, add snow or ice and you would have mass vehicle homicides happening and the morgues would not be able to handle the overflow!
Had some rough weather around here yesterday as well, Stuart FL had a tornado hit at the airport(zip code 34996).
Still have some windy weather here today, have to put covers on recycle bins.
Trying to work on trains some and plan a short get away to Orlando FL.

Evening It has been a good day running trains. Wish I could report no pile-ups. Getting low on fuses, seven left. Went to the grocerystore this morning to stock up on supplies just in case. Good thing I did they are predicting 20 plus inches of snow by Sat evening, with a blizard warning starting at 4am Sat till early Sun morning. Figures where Iam at, we are right in the middle of the heavy stuff. Told the bride I needed the bigger Ariens. Well lets just say I told her that when we bought it.I wouldnt tell her that now, that would just be foolish. Wish I would have thought of fuses as one of the needed supplies. Well I guess its time to start dinner.

I'll leave the light on for ya then...
Chief,
Why are you leaving?
Good evening everyone,
Sorry for the long time that I haven't been posting. I have been busy with school lately, and I started driving so those have taken much time away from other things. I have nothing else to report, so have a good rest of the evening.
Prayers to anyone that needs them.
Aw yes, friday nite = cold coffee
An uneventful day, No visitors,so ran trains and read part of OGR,they have some long articles and for me that becomes a yawn. I think we might pass on the Toledo show as the snow is expected through tomorrow nite there. Have not made a final decision yet.there is the local TTOS show sunday, probably just go there. Have a good weekend and easy on the snow shoveling.
Good nite Chewy,,,,S.J.

Hello All:
I hope everyone is doing well or is on the mend. For myself, I have just been through the worst three days I can ever remember. I had to go out to Las Vegas on Tuesday to look at some real estate. While out there, I aggravated a herniated disk, which should have made me bedridden. Unfortunately, work ethic, pride or stupidity (or all three) prevailed, and looking like Quasimodo (the Hunchback) I continued working for two days. This only compounded the problem and, as a result, I almost could not get out of my airplane seat upon my arrival back in Chicago yesterday. After seeing the doctor today, I was given a prescription for a good pain-killer and an oral steroid. While the pain-killer helped, the steroid has been fantastic (it is used as an anti-inflammatory). I am no longer seeing red this evening and am able to catch up with what's happening on my favorite forum.
I am hopeful that I will be ambulatory by tomorrow. While, I will need to take it easy, I hope I can at least get down to the basement to run trains, if not work on the layout.
While my trip was a disaster, I did hear a good joke. For those golf fans out there:
Man 1: "Hey, I just got a great set of golf clubs for my wife."
Man 2: "Wow. Great trade!"
Regards,
John
Oh John, you are bad!
Hi guys, sorry it's so late in the day. I had a ton of emails and we were out late this evening eating out and did a quick shopping tour of Borders. No OGR, but plenty of CTT - already have that though! Glad Doug-A-Roo is back in da house! Great news, RT! I worked at a VAMC in the past and it was not a bad job at all, plus you can move around within VA to other jobs if you want later. Lots of expansion going on right now as you can imagine.
Sir James and all, I'll catch you tomorrow. It's late and I have to get kids to bed, so TTFN!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evening all,
A near record amount of snow has fallen in N Texas for March so far this year - no laughing - 2"!
John - sorry to hear about the back - hope it heals up quickly.
Collin - congrats on learning to drive. Be careful - the first year is one of your most dangerous. Don't do anything to hurt yourself or worse - someone else.
Busy day here today. Train club meeting tomorrow morning. we had to cancel Thursday night due to the weather here. Refurbing our modular layout for the upcoming Thomas event in Grapevine Texas in April.
Hope everyone has a great evening!

Doug and Roy... I hope there is a shortage of sun tan oil this year.
Doug....Have you heard anything on the TV about our blizzard in Buckeyeland?
Today was to be a mini family get together with daughter, SIL and grandson at my mothers. They live in Columbus and would be driving to Steubenville. We live near the Akron-Canto airport. I think the weather is just too bad to travel that far today. Will reschedule for next month.
Shoveled most of the driveway again this morning and by the time I got about three feet from the end, enough additional snow had fallen to cover what was shoveled with almost another inch of snow. Seemed like most of the accumulation in the driveway was from drifting. I would buy a snow blower if I had a place to store it. When we moved here ten years ago I decided the driveway wasn't long enough to need one. What a difference getting older makes.
Forgot to mention that there were a number of lightning flashes during the night and when I was shoveling the driveway. Different to hear thunder when it is snowing.
Morning Talk about SNOW. Boy are we are getting it , someone tell the Chief to quit doing his snow dance and quit torturing us. I think its going to be another good day to stay home and in the house. Well I still have 7 fuses left, no pile ups last night. Probably go out and snow blow later tonight. I was watching the neighbor a couple of houses down and as fast as they cleared it it was covered back over. I think the worst part is were the blew the snow it is higher now, which caused deeper drifts were they just cleared. Glad I don't have to go any where till Monday.I think I will make some eggs for breakfast, and then down to the basement for some train time. It sure is nice having the bride out of town Iam getting a lot of work done on the trains.
Morning all,
Snowed in in Columbus. Drove to Columbus last night for an evening class. The drive took 3 1/2 hours instead of the normal 2 hours. Then they cancelled class for today. In a hotel watching a beautiful snow. It is about 10" deep here in Columbus. Going to head home around noon because I still have work tonight.
I'll check back later tonight
May God bless
Jim
Mornin' boys. Soggy & 48 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Good morning to sleep in---so I did. Had a nice dinner-date with fifey's-wifey last night. Ate a great dish of steamed shrimp stuffed with crab imperial, and a baked sweet potato, washed it down with a pint of BUD. Went down sooo good, but it certainly triggered the BOMB-BAY doors this morning!!!
tmcc - Someone asked "wunder why he don't write?"; figured you got yourself a girlfriend. Man, when I first got my license, I drove everywhere. Just keep in mind...most accidents occur within a mile of your home, soooo either make lots of trips to Hariisburg, or move.
jmkk - don't eat the green snow.
john&julie - if laughter is best medicine, check out some of zardoz on Would you believe...a little humor (over on the MR board).

Buckeye, Saw it on the weather channel when I got home from the museum last nite. Told the wife that we need to call my sister this morning, she lives just across the river from Cincy in the Ky burbs.
Sounds as though the Chief is really beating-up y'all north of the M.D. line, as well as some to the south of it.
It do look pretty nasty out there. Hang tuff all, hope none have any water intrusion issues either today or over the next week or so when all this starts melting and maybe rain as well.
Good Afternoon
Brutus I'm still lurking about, from time to time.
Doug missed you glad your feeling better.
We have 25 degrees and windy,"IT" is blowing sideways from N. to S. towards Ohio. not staying in one place so all the pavement is clear. Trains ran good today as I got to practice with the grandsons yesterday. Later,,,S.J.
Afternoon from Snowy Ohio! When I left north Columbus there was about 13" of snow and in Portsmouth there was about 7". I drove from Columbus 75 miles south to Piketon where I work and it took 3 ½ hours. Roads were snow covered and a mess. Saw 22 cars and 6 tractor trailers in the ditch on the drive south. Our car did great in the snow. Love those Goodyear Assurance Triple treads; they will go on the Honda next.
Doug- glad you are feeling better. Bet you feel like you've been hit by a truck.
John- Take care of the back, have you gone to the back Dr. yet? Is that nerve down you leg involved yet? That is nothing to mess with.
I need to go.
Take care and may God bless
