Good morning all,
It is cold in SE Indiana with temps in the single digits. Drive in to work was a little slow as roads were clear, but never could tell when you might hit an icy patch. Not much trafffic and took it easy. Just the usual fare on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Took an hour to get to work today. It's only 25 miles, but a lot of traffic lights, and even more silly drivers.
Layout is really coming along. Believe it or not, I'm actually ready to start gluing some stuff down. It only took a year to get something I really liked!
Have a good day everyone!Wes
It's a little crisp here in Wonderland (wonder if it's South Georgia or NorthEast FLorida)
It was 40 in the car about 6:30 am and windy...heard the words Wind Chill Factor, first time this year!! WOO BOY the locals are freezin'!!! Great cold air cleanin' up the place!!!
Ran the Polar Express & the Atlas Trolley last night, had all the Christmas stuff lit up, Another week and it all goes away....I love my tree!! One of the best I ever bought, still smells great and the branches are just now sagging..Waiting for epiphany this week end (Jim S in Snohizo knows...!!) then Christsmas really is over (for the decoarations at least).
Trying to annex another 2 feet on the layout..I'm wondering if my bride will notice, I'll have to give it a shot after my Jersey trip!!

Traffic is all backed up...128 is a parking lot...tough sledding going home tonight...white out conditions... But Rich warmed the cockles of me heart when he reminded me that spring training is only a month and a half away!
FIFEY!!!! I love your avatar, baby!!

Same here, Fifey. They Photoshopped out all the junk that is under our layout!

Good Morning from the North Carolina Mountains at 9 A.M.
Now up to 6 degrees F and still snowing sideways. Zero F on 5,500' Beech mountain across the valley and -2 on Sugar Mountain[5,200'] behind me. Ski operators on both mountains have been making snow for days and are happy that bus loads of customers from Alabama, Georgia and Florida are still here at the motels. Snowboarding seems to be the popular thing with the younger set.
Snow only about 3" deep currrently but a steady, light, dry snow which the 20-30 mph wind is blowing into piles. Snow expected to end tomorrow A.M. Nightime temps to remain single digit for two, three days and about 11-14 F daily.
Wife has me helping with "de-decorating" today--not my favorite thing. Prefer to "armchair railroad" on Forum and read old train magazines. I love them, but thankfully grand kids and adult young'uns have returned to the flatlands of Raleigh and Summerfield.

I always get the checkbook out and write the new year on a dozen checks or so, that way by then I am programed for the new year. Checkwise anyway. Very cold this morn.but we have something new, one of the neighbors remembered it. He said it was called the sun. What a strange looking thing. My wife is at daughters babysitting,no school here till Mon. Got to find some food. Later Folks,,,,,,,,,,Sir James

I don't write many checks. I wrote one last year. Everything is paid with account transfers and checkcards, nowadays. Convenient, but so much easier to spend money.

Sox vs Yanks on St. Patty's Day this year?! The Sox always wear green that day. Hold up a sign if you go to the game!
Wow! lots of activity on the new pot. Thanks for the award, in my humble opinion, I deserve it! Sorry it's late, but Happy Birthday Laz. Had to do rounds yesterday, no surgery, but I found myself exhausted and just taking up space on the couch. Son goes back to school tomorrow.
Had to wear a jacket today, I think Kevin must have left the door open. Hope all is well in AK. Should be done soon, I will be checking to see if I can order the glue that John suggested for the construction of this dollhouse. This is getting to be quite the project.
Hope everyone has a great day.
God Bless,
Dennis

Doug,
If you need signage made, just let me know. Always happy to help!
Brent,
You and I must be cut from the same cloth, or we are just two of the thousands of people living n suburbia. Our garage is only 21x21, with little to no space to put much of a workshop. It's just the way of newly built houses. So I went above as well. I have a "High-Loft" brand rack that hangs from the ceiling. I also put cabinets (the cheap white ones) wherever I could, and actually put most of my tools in clear storage bins on closet shelving. It's divided up pretty well, and I can find just about anything I need quickly. I have a big table saw with a aftermarket fence in storage because it was too big. I replaced it with a Rigid contractor saw that has one of the best fences I have ever seen on a contractor saw. It's on a cart that folds vertical and I tuck it away in the corner of the garage. I also built my countertop to hold my compound miter saw, and the router table tucks away as well. It's taken over a year to get everything organized, but I'm back to having both cars in the garage.
$450 came and gone a long time ago...

So many roads, so little time.
I'm so glad that the snow that I blew out of the driveway hit my target in NC. All that hard work was worth it. Jon, you made my day.

Hey Chief.............. Here is an interesting observation,..... I just noticed that this Coffee Pot thread only has 4 1/2 stars. The SPF thread has 5............ I wonder why that is ? Is there a way of checking this ?
Just wondered.

Chuck,
If you click on the stars it will bring up a list of who rated it and how they rated it. With Christmas just past I guess some are still in a childish mood. Ken
Busy afternoon and evening here. Getting back into the routine of making 3 kids do their homework, checking their homework, making them dinner, and then spending some play time with them. No trains tonight. One did see some glowing yellow eyes looking in the window though...kids!
jonadel wrote:Chuck--I know you asked Chief about the rating but my observation would be that there's always one misguided sour grape in every bunch. Down the disposal it goes, not a problem.
Thanks for the answer, Jon. I see now where the sour grape is. I hope everybody else does too. Chief must be reclinerizing
