All I had was a poptart Sigh [sigh]  Got a catalog from Historic Rail that has some interesting stuff including collectibles, lots of HO stuff, and even some O stuff like Birney's and some JOhn Deere combines and tractors (1/50).  Those of us who live in or around St. Louis or have gone through here know what a pain Highway 40 has been.  Well, they shut down a big piece of it and they are completely redoing it.  Good news in the long run, but hurting people and businesses right now.  The other day a local tv news show did a fly-over with their helicopter - weird to see big sections of that highway just scraped away and gone?!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good mornin' gents,

Sunny and chilly here in Las Vegas.    Cinnamon rolls and coffee and off to the caucuses this am.  Will help finally take down Christmas tree...Wife's been out of town..her dad had his prostate removed--they got all of the cancer--thank God.

Three loops of trains running in the garage.  My PCC trolley by MTH is incredible.  It has voice over of all the stops on the trolley line I remember as a boy in Pittsburgh--awesome!!

You all have a great day.

Cnw,

Which PCCs do you have, and are there ones with voice overs of Chicago/Ill lines?  Perhaps I'm being presumptuous to assume you're from the Chicago area.  Lemme know about your PCC/MTH experiences.  Would love to hear your impressions.

Dan, surprisingly there are all sorts of O gauge PCCs - the only Chicago one (Hornet) I've run was an aftermarket-powered one by Corgi.

Greetings Gentlemen,

I woke up to -20 here this morning.  You have to love living in Wisconsin.  It is a beautiful sunny day, but brutal.  I'm just glad there is very little wind.  The current temp is still about 10 below.  Can you imagine game time tomorrow when the Pack kicks off at -4.  Yikes.

Its a great day for working on trains and organizing the collection.  The sound of metal wheels on metal track warms my heart........even if the rest of me is cold.

Nick--

Why would you drink Coors (some of the worst beer in the USA) when you have acces to this:

I'll bet Green Bay is just going crazy as I type this.  My Dad had a cousin go to the original ice bowl, we have the pic somewhere.  I would love to be there tomorrow--what fun it would be!

Good news Danrunner!

Hey, finally got the printer to work from windows - had to configure the printer under VISTA to a tcp/ip port printer - completely uninstalled the linksys drivers and junk and it is working great.  I guess the linksys stuff has been usurped by the Vista system and was blocked from doing what it wanted to do?  Everything is working now, so I'll say that Vista is not as bad as I had feared, but it is still a little flaky compared to XP, which has become pretty stable on the desktops and other laptop.

Had to run from son's basketball game to Page Ave to pick up Chewy - only about 2 miles from a great train store, but of course no time for daddy to go shopping, had to run home and grab paint clothes and then get daughter to a birthday party.  Only one more birthday party today and then we can take it easy.

Found a report on ogaugewatch where they talked to Lionel about upcoming stuff - they are planning to release more cars and maybe some buildings to go with the Hogwarts Castle Express.  Also, more european locomotives are coming.  Also, the Best Friend of Charleston was a big hit and they want to do some more old time stuff like that as well.  Yeah!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Got home from Indianapolis Firday morning. Between naps, sleep, and fixing French Toast and bacon for Madge for breakfast today, it has taken me this long to read all the posts from page 30 to page 42 on the Coffee Pot!!! Didn't see any snow until Monday mornning in Indianapolis. Got to drive my aunt's car a few miles in the stuff to pick up supper. Left New York Thursday afternoon and watched with glee all the big white fluffy flakes falling between Newark and Baltimore as I was enjoying a Harvey Wallbanger in my compartment on the Silver Meteor. Hope to get some training done in the next few weeks. Prayers and best wishes to all from a cold and wet Jacksonville.

Hi-lights of the Rolling stock: NYC Dual Deck Livestock car, MO.Pac. Eagle Car, Lionel Lines Bay Window Caboose, and a 6560 Bucyrus Erie Crane Car with the threads still atached and in working order.  Good stuff.  Next Sundays Photo Fun, I'll post pictures.

Will look for homes and scan the want ads tomorrow church at 7am, breakfast with the family, then another Trenton Devils game at 4.  Giants n Packers after that.

Talk at ya later!

Jon/Jim, LOL. Wife bought a case of Coors for Xmas (it was on specialSad [:(])and I am having to work my way through it (its brewed here and probably tastes nothing like US coors).

I am more of a real ale man. However I like Bud (best to find imported from US than brewed under licence here, it does not taste the same).

Favorite US beer is Anchor Steam. (Jim, if you like Sam Adams you will love this)

Favorite UK beer is Coniston Blue Bird bitter a fine pint.

Hang on they do a mini keg of Blue Bird.....Cool [8D]

SNOHIO!!!!!  Started at 3 PM when I went to feed the deer.  Temp was 34 so no sticking.  Went north 18 miles and no snow.  Started there 1 hour ago.  Left coming home and the farther south we drove the whiter the ground was.  Ground covered here and temp is 32.  Suppose to drop to the 20's.  Icey street tomorrow AM.  Had great chilli for dinner at SIL's.  Neice is now 14.  Now to watch a movie on DVD player.  Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby.  Pam likes to watch that and White Christmas when it snows.  Later.

Home from the train show. Had some pizza. Now its time to go play trains. Did real well at the train show. Picked up an O Rock double door boxcar, O flat with bulldozer load, O27 horse coral car with horses and a K Line Allegheny with TMCC. And all I spent was $320.00.When we test ran  it and wobbled down the track more of a jerking motion really.I thought the drive train was binding and so did the guy selling. He seemed pretty concerned about the wobble and wanted to get rid of it. Didnt even have time to make an offer and he told me he would take $250.00 for it. The allegheny was never run the only I found wrong was the Traction tires are dryrotted with sections missing and bell is missing. Took the tractiontires off and no more wobble.  so I'll have to find some spares now. I have a few small problems to work out with a couple switches. For some reason it derails on a few O72 switches sometimes. Also picked up some ground rubber track ballest.I will post some pictures on SFF. Everyone have a great night. Talk to you later.

Best beer - Great Lakes Christmas Ale. Article in the paper said it was #8 best selling in the U.S.

Nick,

Have you encountered anything from Sierra Nevada Brewery? It's the best beer in the world...brewed right here in Upper Northern California - Chico, CA to be exact...my home town. Which, by the way, was the northern terminus of the Sacramento Northern Railroad.
