Starting a new one as have to run off to a thingy tonight.  I'm sure some eager person would have jumped in.

Buckeye, the eyes of Roseyville and Langley are upon you.

Ray, wish I could ship you some of my water.  So much rain here, old springs poping out of the ground everywhere.

Enjoy.

Good morning and Happy February,

I was out of town most of this past week for work.  I came home on Thursday and was busy with work and family commitments.  I am hoping to relax today and enjoy the game, even though I dislike both teams.

Brent - I'm glad you are okay.  Sorry to hear about the car and nose.

We are getting a light snow this morning, so I guess I will not go water skiing this afternoon.

Speaking of driving, my company requires us to take a four hour safe driving course on line. http://www.nsc.org/Pages/nsc-on-the-road.aspx Needless to say it is not an easy course to pass. I need to finish it this week.  I also am required to take a safety course about dangerous chemicals.  If you haven't noticed, the placards on trucks hauling dangerous substances have changed. I have not checked railroad cars to see if the placards are updated.

Everyone have a great week!

Good morning all,

Picked up some ribs at a local super market yesterday.  They were cooking them outside on an open pit charcoal cooker.  I picked up one slab thinking that was enough for two people but last night we got a surprise visit from our oldest son and his family so that was the end of the ribs.  Might see if they are still cooking today.  They also had Tri Tip which looked good.

Lots of appointments next week for wife mainly.  Something almost every day.

Will probably watch some of the Super Bowl but don't care who wins.

Chief, thanks for the thought about the water.  Lawn is really greening up now since they put on fertilizer with nitrogen in it.  I watered it in yesterday but we had a little rain a day or two before they applied it.

No plans today except church.

Have a good one.

Ray

Good evening all,

All I can say is this, "Katy Perry RULES!!!"   She absolutely nailed the halftime show.  Best one ever!   Got to attend a send off for wife's nephew as he goes overseas for deployment.  Weather is good here so far.  Will have to see how it is overnight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' Fellas

New found respect for single parents!

Fife - sorry for missing you yesterday. After spending Saturday night alone with them there was no way we were doing a train show! Two pairs of little sticky fingers - no way I could keep an eye on both of them by myself! Laugh

Yesterday was an experience. The kids and I woke around 8:30am, made waffles for breakfast, spent some time Skyping with TheQ (she is in England auditing the Ebola Vaccine Clinical Trials for the week), watched Monsters Inc, made grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, put the kiddos down for naps (Matthew was easy, Christina was a load of work), Skyped some more with TheQ, rested a bit, put the dishes away from earlier, played with the kiddos, made pizza for dinner, worked on letters with the kiddos, got ready and went to grocery store for stuff to watch the less than Super Bowl, had ice cream with the kiddos, gave them baths, put Matthew in bed, watched some of the less than Super Bowl with Christina, read her 4 stories, got her in bed, watched the rest of the less than Super Bowl - waiting for New England to annouce Pete Carroll as their next Offensive Coordinator, then headed to bed. The house is still a wreck - hope to address that tonight. Have no idea where single parents find time to take care of everything around the house!!!!!!

Wow!  What a day yesterday was.  First of all, wife fainted at church sitting in the pew.  Paramedics were called and they took her by ambulance to hospital where they found nothing, thankfully.  I think it was claustraphobia which she has had before when she gets pinned in the middle of other people.  It has happened once before.  She sees regular doctor tomorrow.  Scared me.

Ate the left over ribs after we got home and watched some of the Super? Bowl. Seattle snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.  I couldn't believe it.  After getting the biggest break you could ask for, trailing by 4 points,  their pass receiver juggled the football and caught it by accident, then they threw an interception on the next play with 5 yards to the goal and 20 seconds on the clock.  A free gift for New England.  It's always better to be lucky than good.

I'm healing... not sure about the 'ok' statement - some would question that, even before the accident. Smile

Good evening,

Well I guess Chuck needs to aim that snow cannon a bit better as we just received a dusting here.  It is colder; it was 20 degrees or so and windy when I went for a 5-mile run this morning.  Although I cannot stand either team I did enjoy the game.  As previously stated, the Seahawks OC blew it.  Have a great night.

Mike C. - I didn't think the halftime show was that great.  I couldn't even understand what she was lipsyncing.  ConfusedLaugh

SP Ray - I'm glad the wife is okay.  I hope all is well today.

Laz - Thanks for the link.  I'll peruse the catalog later tonight.

Joe,   I have to agree, I thought maybe I was the only one. Not to be disrespectful to anyone,,,but the halftime show made me want to puck. Ick!  I turned it off thinking if that's entertainment I don’t want any.  Funny how we can all see things in a different light. To each his own!

Cold and clear. Going down to -1 tonight. At least all of the snow is shoved off to the side on the lane and the roads are so so for the wife's ride into work tomorrow at 5:30 AM. Hold on you right coasters.

Have a good night.

Good evening all,

Very busy day at work.  Processed 23 cases, which is a lot.  Met with contractor tonight.  Looks like it could be a "go".  Not terribly impressed with new Lionel catalogs.  The one item they promoted on their Facebook page that I might have been interested in was not listed so may have to wait for Christmas train catalog.  As far as halftime show was concerned, I have read many differing reviews as well.  I was looking at it from a fan's point of view, and I thought she did quite well.  That is one of the beauties of music.  Every one can have varying viewpoints, and all are fine.   If every one had the same reaction to the same performance, this would be a very dull world.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening All.

The game was preety good, couldn't comprehend the logic of that last pass play by the Seahawks though. A few of the commercials were good. I'm not much into the half-time shows, they have turned into to much of a "how much more extravagant can we make it so it's bigger than last year".

Friday and saturday at the museum were good, no catastrophies on friday and the Kid's Club went well on saturday.

Spent the first half of the day in the dentist's chair, the second half was working on all the weeds that the little bit of rain brought out. In some areas you could hardly see the "decorative gravel" for the weeds. Not sure as to which one was more fun.

Took a quick look at a few of the new Lionel catalogs, didn't see anything that really caught my attention.

It appears that White Castle is  slowly  working it's way West, newest location is Las Vegas.

Hello all

Another night on the mountain training the new guy.

Managed to fix a G-scale Bachmann loco for a friend at the trolley barn. Not the highest quality unit, but it cleans up nice. Has me hankering for an O-scale ten-wheeler.

Also managed to figure out what the director's Flyer 16B needs. Just a new power switch and a cord.

Didn't watch the superbowl. Was while I was sleeping anyway. Personally, I rather watch the grass on the field grow. Just not my thing.

Liking Joe's new layout.

Still cold and the world is covered with snow here on the North Bluff. Just waiting for the tons of snow to slid off the shed roof and block me in.

DougDG we don’t have a White Castle close but they sell them in the freezer section at the grocery stores here. Do they by you?

Bob, Thanks again for the neat Lionel Mail Pickup Set. I got to get cracking on placing it.

Your right MikeC It takes all kinds, Maybe if I would of known who that singer was it would of helped.

Aloha from a snow-filled but sunny Chicago. We actually closed yesterday (snow day!) because of Sunday's storm. I guess we might get a bit more overnight. I enjoyed the big game because all the kids were home to watch and comment on the commercials and everything, and then I had all those extra hands to help clear snow. We enjoyed half-time - no one does spectacle like the SB, and the kids recognized all the songs. Then the daughter and her husband chose to drive back to Michigan after the game so they could go to work. Sheesh. Couldn't talk them out of it but they made it.  Snow day was nice. I didn't really do anything but watch train videos and run Ivor for a while.   Smile

Buckeye, I just got a copy of a haz-mat bulletin from a CSX friend that notes the updated tanker placards. Thanks for the catalog link, Laz. It sure is fun to drool over, but yes-pricey.

Kev, you got a lot of snow. We only got about 13 inches.

Morning all. Sunny and chilly. Warming. Lunch meeting and gun store. Got to get ready to go to Bass Pro Shops, Charlotte [Concord Mills] Thursday. Run by the new Lionel Factory Store a few blocks from hotel.

All you with snow, hope removal is easy. Stay warm and safe. No heart attacks shoveling/plowing.

Evenin' All.

More time in the yard today, got really tired so I'll do a little more tomorrow.

Kev, Yeah we got the frozen ones here, but they just ain't the same w/o that cheap salty little pickle that the fresh off the flattop have. The Grand Opening in Vegas must have been pure chaos: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/01/29/white-castle-in-las-vegas-forced-to-close-to-restock-after-grand-opening/ .

Buckeye, It appears that Brasseurs has some t/t for the K-Line Mikados. Last time I checked their site they didn't show as being in stock. The alternatives that I had tried, Lionel & MTH, didnt work out worth a ****.

Hope the weather becomes a bit more friendly to you guys in the north and northeast. Kinda funny when the prognosticating groundhog bit the mayor on groundhog day.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Sunshine outside.  Quiet at work as my 2 coworkers are not speaking to each other (can we say....Paradise??)  Watched the Flash tonight.  Good show.  Saw the American Family Insurance based on Hopper's Nighthawks.  Doug M, I am sure you would enjoy that as well with as much time as you get to spend at the Art Institute.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Aloha from a grey and snowy Chicago where it's much colder today but only expect an inch or so of the white stuff. There was another inch to clear when I got home last night, then had to resolve a credit card issue that must've been compromised somewhere with a few micro-payments. Yes, Mike, I loved that commercial. They really nailed the look of the real painting. In fact, I'll go visit it again today. Smile

Gosh, the new Lionel catalog is gorgeous. Nice photos.
