Yessss..... it was wet over nite! We had a nice thunderstorm and a couple of gallons of rain about 2 am. It is supposed to rain on and off all day! Go for it! Windy again today! Ah Spring! Cooler, too!
Landlord digging up ground to put in a wall out front. Of course, the rain will interfere with it, but by end of week, we may have a new look.
CW - I will have some of coffee since Joe was so nice to get down my mug. A side of bacon and toast sounds good this morning! Not exactly continental; more American?

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. Looks like it's going to be a rainy day around here. Oh well: it's Produce Day, so it's usually bound to rain.
Duff, welcome back! How's little Sadie doing? And how're you doing?
Coffee is brewing, fresh juice is made, and we've got hot chocolate and hot tea this morning. Even have some Diet Dew for mudchicken, if he makes it in.
On the warmer bar, you will find: turkey bacon, sausage, and pancakes (regular buttermilk pancakes, and whole wheat pancakes), and scrambled eggs.
Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all after I get through with Produce Tuesday.

Yeah, wind was out of the south Sunday- going down I-74 would've had them going straight into it, which isn't as bad as bucking a cross-wind on I-80.

.....A very nice day here in central Indiana but we too had above average winds. No rain though.

It's one of the paradoxes of storm chasing - you may see the "mother of all tornados", but then you have to consider the havoc it is causing.
I think we got your wind here in northern New York tonight. T'storms blew though about 7-ish with some really gusty winds. Took down some trees, a few of which managed to tangle with power lines. We were out at my place for about 45 minutes. The weather station only registered about a 15 mph gust, but I could tell the winds were higher than that.

You may want to contact a member here on the boards by the username RedGrey62. I believe he is assigned to AFWA at Offutt. He may be able to get you in for something, although I don't know him too well.
Boy I sure miss having full acess to JAAWIN. There are some great products on there. I was with the 209th WF, TXANG.
Sorry to butt in.
Okay, everyone, supper is now on the warmer bar: pork chops, and all the sides. For dessert tonight, you've got your choice of: chocolate cake, apple pie, and blueberry cobbler, along with ice cream.
And Joe, there's a plate ready for you, in the fridge, with you name in big, bold print.
well we had some wind today but no rain. probably a better chance on wed.Cw will need a plate for work tonight.matts ready to get washed up so I better go get behind his ears.
Not so "great" when your family is cowering in a crawl space as they see the tornado descending on their home that they have worked their entire life to build.
Or not so "great" when someone you know is a cripple due to being struck by lightning.
Believe me, Willy, when I say to you that I once shared your enthusiasm for exciting storms. Fortunately (or unfortunately), my years of experience have caused me to see storms from a completely different perspective.
Storms are quite fascinating, the destruction they cause is not.
Willy - that darn wind was just unbelieveable this weekend. Did you get the big blow up there Friday and Sat? All the trains that were headed south sounded like they were all in our bathroom (had that south window open!)
Also - we usually see all the new power on our coal trains, but I saw a new engine and an SD40 right behind it - heading for the coal fields. That was kind of unique!

Mookie, and others, it's good to be back! I did miss everyone, and being around here.
We didn't have any big winds over the weekendl; think the winds around here were about 5 mph the entire weekend. I was just out in the backyard, talking with the man who cuts our grass (he wanted to get it cut, before the rain this afternoon), and the breeze seems to be picking up some, now. Sky kind of looks like the rain might come in before mid afternoon, but that's probably anybody's guess, when it will actually start.
I've got some pork chop abracadbra going in the Crock Pots, so that will be ready in time for lunch. Will have some potatoes, carrots, and green peas, broccoli, and brussels sprouts as side dishes. I think there'll be enough of everything, even for supper tonight. Unless anyone wants something else for supper/dinner.
Did you or are you all having wind? We had tremendous wind Fri/Sat and some yesterday! Blew my bonnet and hair into the street..................
Nice day today and then more moisture tonite and tomorrow, I think.
.....Seems lots of folks are into the mowing bit now...I mowed this past Saturday....for the 8th time so far this season...Started the "act" on March 27th...Got on it pretty early for this northern climate. But it's looking pretty nice.
We got nine tenths of an inch of rain here in Sioux Falls yesterday. The sun has come out and it's supposed to get up to about 66 degrees this afternoon, so it looks like we will have a pretty nice day here.
I'm going to meet with my banker later this week, I am refinancing my mortgage in an effort to climb out of some credit card debt that I have. I had to have my house appraised last week and on Friday my banker informed me that the appraisal met the requirements for the loan. I will be taking my credit card statements to my banker at Home Federal and she will pay off my accounts for me out of the money that Home Federal is going to loan me. It's going to feel real good to get the credit card monkeys off my back! And I might be able to use whatever is left over to pay for some remodeling of my kitchen.

Good morning, Mook- if there was bad weather in Iowa last night, it stayed away from us- we did hear a couple of rumbles of thunder before we fell asleep, but nothing to wake us up after that. In fact, I was surprised to see 0.66" of rain fell during the night.
Looks like I'll be mowing the lawn for the second time in a couple of days...
...Jen......Seems the bug on these RR bridges bit you pretty hard and deep...Me too, I like the subject say of RR bridges and add to that RR tunnels.
If you care to "see" the two {connected}, bridges I spoke of in various posts, send me an email address and I will send you a pic. of the exact bridges I'm relating to that are close to our down town Muncie Trail and railroad "stuff".....How about that....
Pretty sure I have a selection of views I took of them located here digitally on the computer and should be able to get them to you in that manner.
going to hear my lawnmower shortly.chance of rain this afternoon.yesterday was too nice outside.CW thanks for breakfast.
Joe
Welcome back CW! So glad you are back! Probably need some comfort food for a few days to get back to normal. Maybe?
Quentin - studied bridges this weekend. Looked at a big picture book at the bookstore. Now I am really confused! I looked a truss, trestle, cantilever, Golden Gate, open/close - most of them look an awful lot alike. Now I need to go look at some bridges up close and personal - so I can touch, see, smell and taste. That will fasten it in. Will start small - some of them just south of us and work up to the Brooklyn, SF bridges!
Brian - are you still moving this morning? Our TV showed nothing but bad weather for all of Iowa. We got a piddle. And lots of wind - bad hair weekend.
We got to watch pinhole tv with all the ads and weather posted all over the screen. Now I know why people want a big screen tv - it makes the pinhole viewing at least up to a quarter.
I hear Joe's footsteps!
Hide and Surprise....
Good Monday morning, everyone. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Looks like we'll have another nice day, although it may be a little bit rainy. We have a 30 to 40 % chance of rain, especially as the afternoon rolls around. We could actually use a little bit of rain.
Coffee is just about finished brewing, and I've got fresh juice made, and some iced tea (sweetened and unsweetened), lemonade, and hot tea and hot chocolate.
On the warmer bar this morning, there is turkey bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and some western omelletes, oatmeal, grits and toast.
Didn't actually see any trains this weekend, but heard plenty of horns.
Everyone have a good morning, and let me know if you have any special requests for lunch and dinner/supper today.
