Good Wednesday morning, all.  Well, we're getting light rain right now, here in Louisville.  Supposed to get heavy rain, and slight chance of severe stuff later this afternoon, and evening.  Guess we'll wait and see, just what we do get.

Mudchicken, thanks for the update on how you and Boss Hen are doing.

Coffee, fresh juice and hot tea, hot chocolate and hot cider are ready for whomever wants any of the selections.  On the warmer bar, you'll find the usual breakfast items.

I hope everyone has a great day.  Also hope everyone stays as dry as possible, if you're expecting rain in your area.  Everyone take care.

Mookie:  WELCOME BACK!!  You have been missed, girlfriend!!!!  Now, to find the rest of our female compatriots, like Nance69, Kathi, Nora, Josie, and whomever else has been missing for awhile, and get them back in here!

Joe, think I'll take the rain and storms we'll have later on.

The menu for the rest of the day will be:  spaghetti w/meat sauce, Texas garlic toast, tossed salad, and for dessert:  your choice of:  chocolate cake, apple pie, and peppermint ice cream.

Welcome back, Mookie! Did you have a good Easter?

Snow here this morning, but now it looks like it has changed over to rain. The ground was too warm to allow any accumulation, but it looked pretty coming down for a couple of hours.

The musical at school is Thursday through Sunday with 6 performances. I'm working the lights, so I will be busy for the next few days. Lights actually aren't that hard hard to do. It just takes a little while to get into the pattern of pushing all of the buttons and turning the knobs, etc.

I thought we were done with winter....

Four to five inches on the ground right now, on track to recieve a foot or so of snow, and the winds are howling at 25 MPH or so.

Mutt, that picture reminds me of a few vehicles I've ridden in, push the pedal, snap yer neck!!

Think I'll have some of that spaghetti, then figure out if we're working tonight.  Could get interesting if we are.....

....Just a bit of rain here today and 40's like temp.  Just checked the web cam at Rochelle and the ground is mostly white..!!  This is supposed to be beyond that.....It's April, and well into it...!

Glad I got the yard mowed yesterday {5th time}, because it's nasty rainy at times today.

Stopped over at the restored C&O depot, {now Trail Head}, and watched a north bound NS combination auto rack and double stack pass....It was powered by 2 GE 6 axle engines and neither was NS origin...Both UP.  They passed about 11:15...{just in case our northern Indiana friends are watching on the New Castle District line}.

Joe, your plate is ready and waiting in the fridge for you.  Gee, I remember the spring carnivals when I was in elementary/grade school.  Those were always such fun!  And ours were always indoor, also.  Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Joe.  Haven't thought of that in way too many years.

Got a fresh round of spaghetti, garlic bread, etc., ready.  So everyone come and get it!!

We just got through with a storm going through.  We even  managed to get some pea size hail this time around.  Now, the sun is back shining and making everything look pretty good.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Well, we've already reached our high for today:  49 when I woke up at 6, and it's down a degree or two as I type.  Supposed to have more rain later on, with gusty winds.  Oh, beautiful spring time!!

Coffee is on, fresh juice, hot tea, hot chocolate and hot cider are ready.

On the warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, oatmeal, grits, toast, hash browns, beagles, bear claws.

Everyone have a great day, and take care!!

Well, I've finally gotten lunch together.  Seems I had a terrible time waking up this morning, but I believe I'm actually awake, now.  So, on the warmer bar, you will find:

vegetable beef soup w/fresh from the oven cornbread, grilled cheese sandwiches, and PB&J sandwiches, and I made sliced some potatoes, very thin, and baked them in the oven, so we have baked "tater chips", that don't have all the salt , and they were baked in olive oil.  They're very tasty, too (cook just had to try it out for herself, you know)!Blush [:I]Big Smile [:D]

Now, I'm taking a "survey" for supper/dinner tonight.  Would you like tonight's meal to be Mexican themed, or what would you like to have tonight?  Come on, everyone:  don't be shy, give me your food requests for tonight!!  I WANT SOME INPUT FROM YOU ALL!!

Our first show was this morning at 9:30 for a bunch of grade school kids. Everything went great, including the lights. There was one blooper with the lights near the end of the first act, but I got that resolved quickly. Now, hopefully the next five shows will be as good as this first one was.

CW - Mexican food is fine with me for this evening. Spokyone's request also sounds pretty good, so I'm up for about anything.

Bob, your request for Navajo Tacos w/Fry Bread, is what is being fixed for supper tonight.  I have cooked the beans, and am preparing the Fry Bread (it is "setting" for 15 minutes.  While that sets, I browning the ground round (I prefer using that, since it has left grease than ground beef), and dicing onions and tomatoes, and shredding lettuce.

Do you have any more recipes you'd like to share with me?  I'd be glad to have them.

Everything will be ready and on the warmer bar shortly.

Hmmm - looks like this winter weather has turned our resident chicken into a snow goose!

I am going to be very good and wait for someone to make pancakes for breakfast.  Got my list ready.

Blueberry, chocolate chip, whole grain, oatmeal, cornmeal, plain, potato, strawberry, tomato, bacon, cheese, hamburger, taco, prune, pizza............   sigh.....

Mookie, breakfast is ready:  PANCAKES and sausage.  Got your blueberry, chocolate chip, whole grain, strawberry, and plain pancakes.  Also have some bacon, if anyone wants bacon with their pancakes.  And you did a fantastic job of waiting patiently, too!!

And, of course, coffee, fresh juice, hot tea, hot chocolate and hot cider are ready and waiting.

Everyone have a great day, and hopefully, mudchicken and everyone else will stay warm and dry today!!

According to the weatherman, we're going to see that same system (very possibly with the same results) here in the wilds of northern New York before long.....  Good thing I haven't put the snow blower away, yet....

The wind power people had an "open house" last night at our fire department social hall.  They're planning about 50 turbines in my general vicinity and wanted to fill people in on what's going on.

They also bought donuts, and had a couple dozen assorted types left over.  They're on the counter.  Excuse me while I step out of the way...

//grabs two chocolate covered donuts

So they're going to put that lake-effect-snow-making wind to some good use, eh?  The scenery in Northern Iowa is beginning to make me wonder about one of our more popular slogans- I think they aughta change it from "Tall Corn State" to "Tall Windmill State"!

Wild Prairie Rose (Rosa Pratincola) is most often cited as the official flower. Wild Prairie Turbine sounds like a good choice.

Hey everyone, hope you all are having a good day so far.  I need to go pick up my medicine, so thought I'd get lunch on the warmer bar, before I go.  Here's today's FRIDAY FISH FRY menu:  catfish, cod, haddock, hallibut, perch, salmon and shrimp.  There's also plenty of fries (especially for Matt), hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

There is also a wide variety of desserts in the cooler, so pick what you'd like for dessert.

We have two wind turbines here in town - but with the way the wind blows in this city/state - I think they ought to have a lot more.  Iowa has the right idea!

Sounds like we had a small "coal" derailment at our watch site last nite - must go investigate....
