Good Sunday morning to everyone!  Dan, congratulations!

Yes, Joe, I yelled so much, I've got a bit of a sore throat this morning!!  But, I'll survive.

Thanks so much for putting the coffee on, making the juice, and breakfast!  Sure does look and smell very, very good!  Think I'll help myself to two pancakes, and two sausages, and a little bit of the eggs.

Sounds like you all had a terrific time in Cincy yesterday.  Wish we could have made it up that way, but things just didn't work out that way.

Going to be an even warmer day today, supposed to get to 86 here today.  So think I'll warm up the grill on the patio for Sunday Dinner today.  So I'll be in the kitchen, preparing all the side dishes, along with preparing the meats to go on the grill.

Tyler and I had a great time with Joe, Stacey, and Mat also. Cincinnati Union Terminal was really hopping around with visitors.  They have the Titanic display going on. The wife and I are planning on going next weekend.

I have forgotten what it was like to have a five year old around. He is a very inquisitive young man. He's as sharp as a tack. And yes, he loves those trains. I'll get to look forward to that in 5 years from now with my daughter.

It was a great time and now I'm getting myself ready to head down towards Lexington. This will probably be the last weekend to explore these abandoned railroads in the state until next fall. The blooms are on their way out now.

Morning all!  Thanks for the congratulatory notes.  I'll post pics when appropriate.  I had the pleasure today of starting to show the next generation (12/13) how neat trains can be.  I took the neighborhood kids watching with me this morning and this afternoon we're going to the model RR club (I have keys!  YAHOO!) because they had so much fun this morning.  I'm glad they found this 'stuff' neat.  Back for dinner later!

Congrats, Dan!

We just finished feasting on some grilled steaks here, and then sent our daughter and future son-in-law on their way back to Des Moines.  It's an absolutely gorgeous day here, 77.5 degrees on the weather station with bright sunshine.  Time to head down to the Menards store to get some lawn care items...

Good afternoon!  Well, I just  woke up from a nap.  My throat seems to be getting a tad bit worse.  Guess it's time to start gargling with some salt water.  The lemon & honey cough drops aren't working toowell today.  Oh well.

At least it's a very warm day, about 85 or 86 right now, outside.

I've got burgers, steaks, pork chops, hot dogs & brats off the grill, and they're on the warmer bar:  along with baked beans and corn on the cob.  On the other end, where I have chopped ice, you will find:  potato salad, cole slaw, strawberry cheesecake, cherry cheesecake, and banana pudding (homemade from scratch, I might add.

So everyone fill a plate or two, and head out on the patio, to a table, and watch the trains go by!

Don't have to tell me twice!

I'm hoping to get back on my bike after work today and catch a train or two (wishful thinking) on the IC line.

Ooohh - I don't think I can move after all that food.  If someone is headed back in to the warmer bar, would they mind filling my plate up again?  Another burger, some potato salad, what's for dessert again?

Congrats, Dan!

Well, it's pretty warm here today. The temperature is 78 degrees. More of the same is expected over the next couple of days before some storms on Wednesday.

I've got a little last minute homework to do, so TTFN.

Hi Joe,

Sorry about that, but I couldn't hear a thing on the phone with a train going by, not to mention cell service is hit and miss up there anyway. Heard you and Matt had a good time railfanning in Chicago recently. I sure would like to get out there to Chicago one of these days myself.

Anyway I am haveing problems trying to post pics from this computer (here at home) so it will have to wait till I get a free moment at work.

TTFN,

Willy forgot to tell you that he and I conversed in Italian - he said lasagne and I said penne!

We both said yum!

He left behind an almost 80 degree day on Sunday and same for today.  What happened to spring?  Could have used some air overnite, but going to cool off by end of week.

Good Monday morning, all!  Chad, welcome back!!  Long time, no see!  Sure do hope we see you in here more, now.

Joe, thanks for the goodies for breakfast!  Looks like everyone around here had a good weekend, with the warm temps!

Well, everyone have a good day, and I'll be back in in a bit.

I'll take half a beagle and some milk.

I slept with my window open last night and was able to hear the rumble of the trains.  I don't hear any horns, though, because the sound is blocked from the north and the track is grade separated for quite a ways to the south. Sad [:(]

Interesting Weekend (to me at least)

Saturday:  Good program of presentations on railroad photography.  Chance to say hello to many acquaintances, including former Trains Forum poster Mark Hemphil.  He is very involved in some major railroad construction projects around the country.  Seems to be pleased that he no longer has to stop at the airport Humvee rental desk to pick up the unit with the optional armour and 50Cal machine gun mount.

Sunday:  Received a call from Maryland announcing the arrival of family grandchild number 4.  Ian Timothy arrived at 9:00am weighed in at 8lb4oz, had something to eat and took a nap.  He is the second child of my wife's daughter Melissa and her husband Ed.  Baby, Mom, Dad and sister Mia all doing fine.

Coffee please.

Jay, I'm jealous:  we would love to meet Mark (and Tina)!  But very glad to you got to see him.  Also, CONGRATULATIONS on new baby in family!  Is Grandpa Jay going to spoil him rotten, and teach him about trains and railfanning?!?!

For today's lunch menu, I've warmed up leftovers from the cookout yesterday.  We've got some steaks, burgers, brats, baked beans, and I've got some more pork chops just about ready to take off the grill.  Sides are:  garden salad, cole slaw &  potato salad.  And potato chips, if anyone wants them.  So, grab a plate, and utensils, and head on out to the patio.

Don't be a stranger Chad! Those pictures are awesome!

not too much happening here, Sadie of course is getting bigger, and everyone here is doing alright

Saturday we went to a friends place to celebrate her four year old's birthday. It was alright. Kind of boring, but any trip there is boring, they like to talk about computers a lot, and that's not really my forte. If it's not about computers it's about Star Wars, and I am not much of a sci-fi fan.

a bowl of cereal for me, with orange juice. I am sure that would hit the spot

CW I am keeping an eye on the mailbox for Project X. Thank you so much for that! I will definitely let you know if it has arrived
