One food related sighting during my trip to VA was this:
Sorry - that's the only decent shot I got - hard to get decent pictures at interstate speeds... Note also that it was snowing at the time...
Let's see. Several points this evening.
First, there are so many pizza choices this evening that I don't know where to start. A calzone wouldn't be too bad either. I think I'll just have to try a little bit of everything, including the desserts!
Joe - Did you get my email last night?
Tree - Rather interesting "behind the scenes" look at Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile. That picture is actually not too bad as it is from a different perspective.
The change from rain to snow is not too far away here in Omaha. They still say 6 to 8 inches, so we will see what morning brings.
Everyone have a good evening!
Willy
I will have pepperoni with extra pepperoni on my pizza. Maybe with extra cheese too.
@ the Oscar Meyer weinie mobile LOL!!!. I seen it in Orange Park a couple of weeks ago, too bad I wasn't armed with a camera
I've seen the OM Wienermobile a couple of times around here in years past.
Supreme plus a brownie ala mode for me, please!
Still lucking out here in that we haven't lost power (obviously). Other more rural areas around us, though, have not been so lucky. They just mentioned on the news that I-80 east of Iowa City is closed due to downed power lines.

Willy no not yet.sometimes email takes awhile. It might have been accidently deleted.will take some more pizza please.everyone have a good night going to be rough in the morning.
Wow,
I feel real bad about this...its 78 degrees, clear skys and a gulf breeze blowing in for us third coasters...
Really thick pork chops, baked potatoes with all the bad stuff on 'em...fresh green beans and a salad, some sweet tea...all out on the back porch...watching the possums fight over the dog food bowls...

And all has broken loose in Wisconsin.....
Thundersnow here, should be another foot or so of snow on the ground by the time all is done, on top of the seven inches we got last night. No power problems yet, hope we don't have any. Winds howling like crazy, too.
I'll have some of the meat lover's, please, then back to a cozy corner.........

We can revisit this along about August, when it's 78 degrees here, under clear skies, and a nice breeze off the lake, and it's 100 there - temperature and humidity....
Yeah,
Thats life on Blue Bayou....
Got home this afternoon before the snow hit. My experience last night indicates that the 300 handles pretty well in the snow, so I won't have to borrow Randy's truck-yet. On the other hand the Pacifica...! If we get the possible 12 inches or so the truck would be handy, but I'd just as soon stay home. (Got a Trains to read yet.)
All take care

I'm very glad you all are liking the different choices of pizzas tonight! It makes this cook very pleased.
Well, we're still getting rain. Supposed to continue until early morning, then stop. After the rain stops, the temps will start to drop, and we may have snow coming in tomorrow night. Guess we'll take what we get. They said some places around here today heard thunder, but I never heard any around here.
All of you getting the snow, ice and sleet, PLEASE take care.
I've put all the leftovers in the cooler, so if anyone comes in, that's where you'll find pizza and calzone.
See everyone in the morning!!
And it gets worse.......
Watching the news, all of south-central Wisconsin is essentially shut down, Madison Metro buses have been pulled off the roads, county sheriffs are saying stay home, haven't seen a car go by the house in hours. About four inches or so of snow on the ground, storm total has been recalculated to about 14-16 inches by tomorrow evening. Need to be farther south, Dan!!

Dan - Don't worry. The snow has almost made it to you.
Earlier this evening we had thundersnow and 1 to 2 inches an hour. Things have lightened up quite a bit, at least light snow should continue through the night. I'm heading to bed. Anxious to see what morning brings.
Good evening everyone.
Thank you for the calzone!
We're going to have some ugly weather coming into Sacramento very soon. It's supposed to be windy and raining by late tonight.
morning
juice and coffee are ready to go.everything is a glaze with ice right now.we dont really have to go anywhere today.tonight is a different story.
Hi all,
I can't sleep tonight so I thought I would drop in and say hi, I'm still alive. Been real busy lately and when I do get time I am trying to get use to my new camera (Thanks Chris, this thing is awsome). Hope everyone is doing well. Mabee I'll try andupload and post some pix.
A good, frosty, cold Sunday morning to everyone out there. We have a temp of 24 degrees here in Sioux Falls and the wind chill factor leaves us sitting at 11 degrees above 0. I've been up for roughly an hour and have not yet been outside, but it looks like we got a minimum of four to six inches of snow out of last night's storm.
I decided to stay home this morning, rather than go to church. I'm going to bake a few loaves of bread , and you can bet my house will smell good, and work on a 750 piece jig saw puzzle that I started on a few weeks ago, "Rio Grande Southern" by Ted Blaylock. I figure that I've got about a third of it finished.

Good morning, everyone. It is another beautiful day. The ground is wet, but it isn't currently raining. I have a lot of walking to do today, so I hope that I don't get too wet.
Today's focus will be Psalm 89.
Every day is a beautiful day, it just depends on how we look at it. I see God's beauty in a raging thunderstorm or a winter blizzard, and in dense fog.
CHAD! nice to see you back!
Anything hot, I think I caught another bug. just a sore throat and stuffy nose though, more of an annoyance.
Coffee, and grits sound good this morening
I love the snow...especially when I have four neighbors with snowblowers that love to run them and always do my long sidewalk and driveway apron after the plows go through! The other thought this morning is that Brandi, our little dog (Plothound mix), needs to get taller or we've got some big snowdrifts in the back yard. I let her and Jasmine (the German Shephard-62lb lapdog!) out to go #1 and #2 and Brandi took off like a shot-and then disappeared! She jumped into a snowdrift in the backyard and vanished inside it. I laughed so hard when she poked her head out the side and didn't move...she just sat there with a look on her face that said 'Great, now what do I do?'
On another...train...related note (What you ask? Talking about trains in here? ) I had to drive the GF to work because her car wouldn't have cleared the driveway at that time and happened to go past the CN mainline. There were 4 UP SD40-2's at the head of a train just sitting there. I didn't get r/n's because I was driving and when I came back they were gone! They did look kind of neat covered in snow and it would have made a great shot. Anyway it was nice to see something other than red/black/white. Ok, I'll shut up for now...lol.
I just finished shoveling out my sidewalk, so I know that we got at least 5 inches of the white stuff during last night's storm. Had I waited long enough, my neighbor to the north of me might have cleaned my sidewalk with his snowblower..........and I would have rewarded him with perhaps a loaf of my bread, fresh from the oven. There are some apartment buildings to the north and northeast of me and a gentleman was clearing their parking lot with a bobcat front end loader. He stopped in front of my house and offered to clean my driveway, which was a nice gesture on his part. I actually have no driveway, and I told him so.
I am now thawing out both my toes and my fingers, and will stay inside for the rest of the day.
Good Sunday morning, everyone! Joe, thanks for making the coffee and juice this morning. I took a nap around 8:30 last night, and after awaking 1 1/2 hrs later, couldn't go back to sleep until 3:50 this morning. Looks like our rain is over, at least for now. Haven't heard any news this morning, and we don't have any noon news on Sundays. So not sure what our forecast is for today, yet.
Nightrain, I think you've got the right idea this morning: we're having brunch, and then I'll fix SUNDAY DINNER a little later this afternoon.
On the warmer bar you will find: country fried ham w/redeye gravy, grits (not the instant ones, either), turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits, and sausage gravy, fried taters, and, if you want, you can cut open a couple of biscuits, and pour sorghum molasses or real maple syrup over them.
For SUNDAY DINNER I am preparing meat loafs, green beans w/onion cut up in them, cream style corn, cole slaw, choice of biscuits, dinner rolls, crescent rolls, fresh sliced tomatoes. And for dessert, we've got Ray's brownies and ice cream (what was left from last night's Pizza Fest), chocolate cake, peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler, and apple pie.
Everyone have a good afternoon, and stay inside, if you're where all the snow and ice hit!
