Good Friday morning, everyone! Little bit cooler here, this morning. But the humidity reading is 80%, so it's very muggy and sticky this morning.
Lance, thanks for bringing in the doughnuts, and for making the coffee. I've made fresh juices for the morning, and also have gotten fresh tea and lemonade made.
Duff, can't remember if I thanked you yesterday, for bringing in an air conditioner, so I'm thanking you right now!! That is really helping!!
Think I'll grab a couple of cream filled, chocolate covered doughnuts, and head out to the patio and garden with my breakfast and my coffee.
Mookie, will you be around for the Friday Fish Fry lunch, or will you be on your way home by then?? Maybe I can get an 'early' start on lunch, around 11 a.m. EDT, so you can take a couple of plates home with you.
Everyone have a great morning, take care, and stay cool!!
Thanx railfan. I need a big cup of coffee this morning. It has been a strenous morning reading how much everyone likes the diner thread. I am so glad! They mention it often! What they forget is that at least we are not cluttering up the rest of the threads if we stay in here and have a good time.
Dan - you did good! I like your reasoning and sensible postings in "that thread".....
Off to find some

We finally got some rain this afternoon! Our high locally was 103, but when it started raining, our home indoor/outdoor thermometer read 100. Now, it is 76!! Terrific breeze out, too.
Joe, got containers made up for you and Lance for tonight. (Also put some slices of pizza in an extra container for each of you. Yes, tonight's THURSDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST.
On the menu tonight:
1. Canadian Bacon 2. cheese w/extra cheese3. Hawaiian4. Pepperoni/sausage/mushroom5. Supreme
Since we've not been having as many people in lately, I only made two extra large pizzas of each of the five kinds on tonight's menu.
Everyone have a great evening, and take care!!
Dan well keep your eyes peeled.and watch out for mookie when she pounces.hmm high of 75 for the weekend and deshler days.sounds wonderful.and its friday tonight as well.Cw thanks for the casserole for supper tonight.

*humph!**Ughhhh*
Where y'all want this air conditioner at?
I will have a mushroom swiss burger with lots of fries. And some tea.
Little Bit is down for her nap, so I thought I would stop by for a little while.
Had a brunch meeting this morning - August birthday's fed us - very well, too!
Houston Ed - I keep telling you to move up north and get away from all that nonsense. We had a gentle rain at 4 am and it has been tinkling ever since then. It will be in the high 80's with humidity just about there, also. See - your kind of weather, w/o all the nastiness.
Wonder if the chicken got done cooking and got some cooler weather? Lunch is a nap - still a little stressful but slowing down a little. (wonder what surprises await me for next week....)
Ed I can lend you my waterwings if you need 'em. Just let me know.
I'll take some s'ketti and bread. Sounds good!
I decided to start getting ready for 'fall outdoor wildlife pursuits' (catch my drift) early so I can partake in more of them this year. I can't wait! Plus on the way to and from I can usually sneak some 'fanning in.
Well,
Erin missed us, sorta...
She veered off towards Mexico a little more last night, and landed just south of Corpus Christi...
Bad news is, Houston is on the dirty side of the storm...all the moisture she was dragging behind her is now coming down as thunder storms...it has been raining quite hard since 4am, lots of thunderstorms back to back, all of the Texas Gulf coast is under a flash flood warning, Houston is under a shelter in place warning...(yuh, it's a swamp, whatta ya thinks is going to happen)
The hill country around San Antonio is in the path of the rain,,,like they need more floods too...good news is Edwards Aquifer is filled up again!
Bad new is the aquifer is full...the water has to go somewhere....

Dan, I don't know that I'm in any hurry to see a high of 25 (or low, for that matter), but your high of 75 for today sounds really good!! Not too sure about snow, but a nice little hail storm would be 'nice', and I'd go out and pick up as many as I could. Would not mind at all, holding a bunch of hail stones in my hands right now!!
Lunch today: leftovers of Mutt's spaghetti casserole, w/garden salad and garlic Texas toast. (Now that that's out of the oven, I'm going to find some 'cool air' to sit in front of!)

Mook I'm only 250 lbs...it's not that much. I was playing softball a while back and jumped over the shortstop who decided to lay on the baseline between 2nd and 3rd. The ump watched me hang in the air for a bit (I was in a dead sprint) and then come to a quick stop at 3rd. He started to chuckle and I asked what was so funny. He said "For such a big guy, you move good!" I said What, you've never seen 1/8th ton levitate before?" He almost fell over laughing. I guess you had to be there.

Is is just my computer, or are the times listed for the postings way off?
fyi: I posted this at 10am 8/16
you didn't disturb the cat?wow getting stealthier all the time.did you get your package in the mail Dan? will take some breakfast then off to bed.
Good Thursday morning, to all! Another hot, miserable day ahead. Bob, thanks for the info! Duff, good to see you in here. Give Sadie Girl a big ole hug for us all, o.k?
Coffee is ready, as well as fresh juices, fresh iced tea, lemonade, along with replenished Gatorade, various flavors, including mudchicken's preferred blue.
On the breakfast bar this morning: fresh pineapple, muffins (blueberry, cherry, oatbran, etc.), sausage patties on made from scratch biscuits, and cold cereal (Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Fruity Pebbles, Special K, etc.), bagels and bear claws.
Local fire department already busy this morning: cement truck lost brakes, and ran into the side of an Air National Guard building, causing a fire. Miracle of miracles, the driver got out of the truck, and walked away from the truck.
Think I'll take my coffee and a couple of biscuit & sausage sandwiches and head out to the garden for a spell.
Just checkin' in on my way to bed.
1200 radios to program and enter in the system after I finish the class that teaches me how....

Her hair is getting blonde, but in the light it's a reddish blonde. Her hair is why Daddy calls her "lil Bit of Sunshine"
no salad today...just tea...and soda...and water...and keep it coming! It is so muggy here

Amazing that Kit Carson lived as long as he did here. (The heat would gitcha if the injuns didn't)

Bob, you suggestion was kind of right on track!! Mutt made his spaghetti casserole for supper tonight. And there's plenty of salad to go with it. Did not turn the oven on, to bake garlic bread or garlic Texas toast. You'll have to substitute plain ole bread tonight. Sorry about that!!
Joe and Lance, there are containers in the fridge, for you guys to take to work tonight.
Dan, some people out there, will gladly assume someone can/will pay for their mistakes. And if their 'stupid pills' came from China, they better make darn sure they don't have lead in them!!
