We make chicken the old fashioned way, we burn it.

That said - the chicken and all of the fixin's are on the server bar!  Dig in!

If you don't want the full half chicken, we can break off a drumstick for you, or give you the white meat, instead. (Auto edit didn't like the usual name for that part of the chickenBlush [:I])

Also on the bar - potato and macaroni salads, coleslaw, baked beans, home-made rolls.  Pie's over on the counter.  Ms Mook has first dibs on the chocolate pie, though.

Morning All,

All I'm going to say is that it's a strange winter day in Denver when one looks to Alamosa or Gunnison and thinks, "Wow, that's pretty warm!"

Oh well, not too bad except for the fact that the windshield washer fluid froze in the lines and there's enough De-Ice agent on the roads for at least three states. Driving back from DIA last night was an excercise in stopping at almost every off ramp to clean off the windshield. Banged Head [banghead]

MC, one of the advantages of having the CopCar is the large battery and alternator. She spun over as easily this morning as if it was 75ºF! Big Smile [:D]

Willy, thanks for cutting the snow back. Only about 1/2" at my place this morning. And thanks to the cold, it was quite easy to take care of (didn't need the shovel...broom worked just fine).

Jay, if you want, I'll bottle some of our cold and sell it to you cheap! Any time Willy screws up and the temp climbs above 60ºF, you can just pop open a bottle, and Voila! A/C in a bottle! Laugh [(-D]

Well all, must be on my way. May you all have the best of luck with whatever weather Willy has sent you!

.....Temps all over the place this morning.  50 degrees here and rain expected later and off and on thru Sunday.  Looking at the weather system coming at us from southwest appears the most of it will pass just south of us but we'll be getting some of it for sure....Looks like Walt and friends will be pretty much in line for a bunch of it.

Next week....Colder.

Right now we have a wind chill factor of 22 degrees BELOW 0. I will be leaving the warmth of my house within another hour to make a run to our local post office to mail a letter to a friend of mine who practices law out in Deadwood, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I will walk as FAST as my legs will carry me. SHIVER ME TIMBERS!!!!!Pirate [oX)]

A good, bitterly cold morning to everyone out there! Sioux Falls right now has a temperature of absolute 0, and the wind chill leaves us at -21 below 0. I think it's going to be like this throughout the whole weekend and then some. I'm sure glad that I am not having to stand out in the cold ringing a bell for the Salvation Army, all that is behind me now.

I'm going to do a job interview with Hy-Vee Foods this afternoon, they are getting ready to open up a new grocery store, and a friend of mine has offered to run me to that store for the interview and then home again. Otherwise I would be hard pressed to want to leave the house for any reason today. I started out my morning with a cup of hot chocolate.

Well, San Jose has come nowhere near the forecast low of 28.  Right now we are at 35.  Still nippy, but at least the succulents are in no danger of freezing.  Captain [4:-)]

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Dan, thanks for getting breakfast ready this morning.  Heard on GMA  a few minutes ago, that Denver's temp this morning is ONE above zero this morning.  We better make sure we have PLENTY of hot tea and hot cider for the mudchicken, so he can thaw out his feathers!!

Mookie, if you're really cold, you can borrow my blankie also.  I didn't even use it at all last night:  too warm in the house.  So, needless to say, I slept like a newborn babe, nice and cozy warm.

Went to the gym (YMCA) with Sarah last night, and she had me on a few cardio machines.  Wanting to tone and firm my upper arms, and decrease my tummy, so she helped me work on those areas.  I'm beginning to feel a liiiitle bit sore this morning.  But I think that's a good thing.

Larry, let me know when you're ready to get started.  And I "volunteered" Mutt to help you man the grills.  Just have to make sure he's wearing his "KISS THE COOK" apron.

See you later,

The AC compressor on my 300 bit the dust today.  For now, removing a drive belt works to put off the kind of pricey replacement.  Can you set the weather machine to max out our temperature at about 60 degrees until about March 1?

In terms of extreme cold temperatures, it's beginning to get a bit wicked here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Denver is still getting too much snow, Louisville is probably getting more than their fair share of rain, and some people are not getting snow where they really want it.

I wonder what my chances are of enlisting the help of some U.S. Air Force B-52's out of Elsworth Air Force base just outside of Rapid City to bomb Willy's weather machine in Omaha????? Laugh [(-D]Probably zilch.Banged Head [banghead]

Seriously though, I don't really think I want to drop bombs on anyone!

Eight degrees last night, thirty-seven right now.  Willy - you need to tweak your long distance stuff a bit!

Not complaining too much, though - the contractors are getting work done on my system that could be under a few feet of snow.

Barbeque pit is all ready out back, the charcoal is piled up in the shed.  I'll be lighting things off nice and early so the chicken can be ready around lunch.  If anybody doesn't mind a little smoke, I'll gladly take some help turning the chicken from time to time.

And stay out of the fixin's! (at least until lunch tomorrow...)

Willy, you are doing just fine with that weather machine.  We all understand that it might take you a few years of practice to get it completely fine-tuned.  Yeah, it is going to be a little nippy here in San Jose for the next few nights, but during the day it is pretty nice.  And I still haven't had to turn my heat on yet.  Captain [4:-)]

Those evil giggles you hear from under the counter is Willy cranking up the deep freezer for Denver while toning down the snow (a managable 6 inches over a couple of days this time, starting on Thursday night like clockwork - again). Just as long as I can make the mad dash to Indianapolis next week, I'll live with snow and cold.

Hope Copcar's namesake has enough battery to turn over and some decent antifreeze - or he's grounded/stuck in one place for quite a while.

Think I'll be taking a vacation far from Denver this summer (August 25-28) to avoid the zoo here in town....

Cider please.

Yikes! They're really turning on me here! And all because they don't want snow and cold temperatures! At least Dan is a supporter of snow, but I can't seem to aim any up that way. It'll get to you sooner or later, Dan. And the cold and snow will end for you other folks at some point or another, too. You just have to be patient. Wink [;)]

Anyway, I'm getting a bit worried here in Omaha. It looked like a great snowstorm for the weekend, but now the computer models are making all kinds of fancy changes with this system and it looks like only 4 to 8 inches now. I know, I know, I'm probably the only person in the world who refers to 4 to 8 inches as "only", but compared to what they were forecasting it's not a whole lot. I guess a lot can still change between now and Sunday though.

I hope everyone has a good evening and I'll try to do some work on that weather machine and get it so it satisfies everyone, but that may be a lost cause.

I sure feel sorry for whoever lives in Denver!  This storm is baaaaad.  It's putting down three or four inches here in Reno/Carson and I don't even want to think about how bad it is in Tahoe.  If you're heading into or out of Denver, better take a train!   Stay safe and see everybody late tonight.

(Willy, you keep playing with that weather machine and you might get a blanket party! So, put down the controls and step away from the machine......)
