45's????  How about 78 RPM?  I have some RR sounds on 78 that I would love to get onto my PC and cell phone.

I bought some Schwann's "Ice Cream and Chocolate cake" for dessert, but the Porcelain Managerie ambushed me at the door and took it away from me.  I tried to get it back, but 4 of them held me at bay with their their 6-inch hat pins, while they divvied it up amongst themselves!  Fiesty things when it comes to sweets!

I did find their stash of De Beukelear "Creme de Pirouline Chocolatier" cookies... there was one unopened packet left in the cannister... help yerselves.

Good Saturday morning, folks!!  I imagine things will be very quiet in here this weekend; but there will be folks in here, making sure there are beverages, things to eat, and songs to listen to, videos and DVDs to watch, along with watching the real live 1/1 trains going by the Diner.

SV, thanks for bringing in the cookies!!

Fresh coffee is ready, along with freshly made tea and lemonade.  Managed to get a couple of Gatorade tanks in, and made breakfast.  On today's menu:

bacon, sausage, homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes of different flavors & waffles, cantaloupe and watermelon chunks and blueberry, apple/cinnamon muffins.

Everyone have a great day (looks like it's going to be a terrific day, just about anywhere in the country), and I'll see you all tonight for SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST.

And of course this signals more are under construction.  That area now has several dozen....They are in Somerset and Shade townships.

....78's.....Yes, that's going back a bit far.  I sure know about them but have none and no  means to play any if I did.  Did play them as a kid though at grandma's place with a wind up Victrola.

I have a 33 with RR's sounds on it that is pretty good, but since I didn't have the turntable connected for quite a few years now, of course haven't heard it for years.

Well, Mooks could consider taking the hubcaps off the back truck of the DD40AX that Driver had to stuff and mount in their backyard. (on the side that touches the fence as opposed to the side that touches the back porch - who needs grass anyhow?)Big Smile [:D]

(Grabs several slices of Supreme topping pizza Dinner [dinner] )

By the way, you might want to bring out a few beers for University of Michigan fans--their highly-touted football team lost to Appalachian State by a final score of 34-32. Shock [:O] Has to be one of the biggest upsets in quite a few years--well, not really given that Appalachian State did win the 1-FCS (e.g., 1-AA) championship two years in a row.

There will be Rioting in the streets in Michigan tonight!!

(and they probably don't need any extra beers to egg them on!)

(2004 Kenworth T2000 with trailer pulls up outside diner)

Evening all........

Just got back from three weeks out on the road, roaming mostly in the south, spending a lot of time in Mississippi and Georgia, hauling paper, Gators, glass, beer, and building supplies.  Today was a 500-mile day, ran from Janesville, WI to the Menards distribution center in Eau Claire, swapped trailers, and made a store delivery in Johnson Creek before coming to Burlington for a few days rest.

Will talk more tomorrow, really tired from being woke up at 3am this morning......

Good Sunday morning everyone. Coffee is brewing and the juice has been squeezed. I'll leave the cooking to someone else though.

Well, since CW is otherwise occupied right now, guess I'll put my apron on and start

taking care of the orders. (I was doing a bit of maintenance on our "O" Scale layout)

She should be in shortly to take care of things.

Lance, thanks for making the coffee and fixing the juice this morning!  And Mutt, thanks for making breakfast this morning.  You did extremely well  on the eggs and waffles!! (And Mutt's right:  I have been very busy/occupied this morning.  Getting everything together and beginning preparations for the LABOR DAY COOKOUT for our Diner patrons, and any guests who come by tomorrow.)

For our SUNDAY DINNER, I have fixed country fried steak, steak fries, mashed taters w/milk gravy, green beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, creamed corn, biscuits, cornbread and crescent rolls.  We also have cantaloupe and watermelon, chocolate cake, white cake w/red, white and blue icings, and apple, cherry and peach cobblers.

Randy, glad you got a chance to stop in last night.  Just be careful out on the road, o.k?  And come back as often as you can!!

Enjoy your Sunday Dinner and have a great afternoon!!

I'm definitely coming over for the country fried steak with steak fries, green beans and crescent rolls. Dinner [dinner]

By the way, keep out the beer--Michigan fans are really depressed over that loss yesterday from what I've read online. Sad [:(]

At the moment, the back end of Lurch looks almost as ugly as the front end. I don't know if Fix Or Repair Daily even has started spare parts into the distribution network yet.

The only thing damaged/injured beyond "Lurch" is the shop manager's pride. I did kid him about not being able to shove the whole piece of crap over a very high cliff . He now hates the truck almost as much as I do.

Afternoon everyone...

Thanks, CW, I get in as often as I can, but I really need to consider buying a laptop computer to take with me on the road so I can stay in touch better.  Truck is parked untill Tuesday morning, then back out on the road for two to three weeks again, can't stay out too much longer or too much mail piles up at the house.

Mudchicken, Kenworth is not too much better off right now, have heard reports of the new T660s with Cat motors catching on fire because the new emissions equipment is burning the underside of the cab and sleeper floor.  We drivers do not like that particular model anyway, there is no interior room, especially for some of us that are fairly large.

Be back later for lunch and dinner.....
