Recent 'Fallen Flag' Sightings while Trainwatching

The shortlines in GA are great!

On the local shortline engines: Chessie B&O, Chessie WM, Rio Grande, CNW, B&O(parts), RF&P, South Carolina line(forgot exact line), Bessemer and Lake Eire, Conrail. These are all in original paint. Their are a few others that have been painted over

On the local shorline cars: Southern 40' gondola BLT around 1939, Union tank car BLT around 1940 (fuel car now) and yes both are still in regular use. Also an old Conrail boxcar with brake wheel on top stored with plans to scrap.

On the CSX: Many L&N, B&O, Chessie, etc open hopper cars used for cross ties. Many more of above and NYC gondolas used in MW tie gang. Also a B&O covered hopper in original paint and still in service!

I can give pics and details on any of above if anyone needs or wants them...[;)]

I recently saw a C&NW GP7 sitting all by itself next to a grain elevator on the CN in Seward,IL.Not sure who owns it though.

Seen a Penn Central boxcar on the UP in March.
A lot of Chessie on the CSX, mostly auto parts boxcars.
A SOO bandit loco on CP in Indiana.
A Seaboard transfer caboose.

I live in the Northern KY, Cincinnati area. If it is close to that area I would be interested to know that as well.

I just recently saw and got photo of a "Family Lines System" that still had the L&N on it.

Like Sask_tinplater a.k.a Mitch seeing alot of the fallen flags hoppers on CP like the other day on a grain train i saw a CNW SOO Frisco and Milwaukee.
Then I went south of the border to ND and saw the old Sante fe 3 bay hopper cars on the BNSF

Two Saturdays ago I saw several Erie-Lackawanna hopper cars in a train in Reading, PA and a few more in another train around Lebanon, PA.

It has since been burned by vandels and I'm sure that it was scrapped. Let me know and I'll scan some pics up this weekend if you want some shots of it.

I work for CN in Illinois & I often see old pre72 IC boxcars & cvh's, & an occasional GM&O cvh or woodchip hopper. There's a few GM&O pulpwood flats stored in centralia. I see some old Northern Alberta double-door lumber boxcars once in a while. Its also noteworthy that CN has been keeping the former IC, ICG, WLO reporting marks on its repainted freight cars out of Centralia. I've even seen a fully stenciled repainted ICG auto parts boxcar with the name spelled out and everything

today i saw an unpatched Southern Pacific tunnel motor on a ballast train sitting in Soledad California. if you can get to amarillo, at the car shops at the east end of town there are tons of RI blue boxcars, MP boxcars, and even a couple C&EI boxcars.
