Lincoln is a great college town, but since only Lincoln and Omaha have the population, the taxes and prices get a little steep.

The columns you refer to are from an old Treasury Building back in DC. They used to be in Antelope park on O street, but now no park, so they moved them to Pioneer park.

The depot is the old CB&Q/BN depot - the yard still runs just the the west of the depot, but the depot is just businesses now. It had the old marble floors and counters and the wood pews for seats and in the summer, it was perfect to be in, since we didn't have much air conditioning except at some of the movie theaters.

Take a tour of the capitol sometime - it is on the list of architectural wonders and even now, we wonder when they will ever be done cleaning and restoring it!

Lincoln,
I think Lincoln is one of the nicest towns I've been in.
I love the park that has the original columns from the Capitol building, or was it the original White House?
Than there's the Depot area that has the festivals.
Way cool!
I get to Lincoln quite often in the summer. Leave Mpls at 7:00 PM and get there by 2:30 am or so.
My wife has been working on her masters there during the summers.

Didnt have your number, besides, as you already know, with railroaders, if food is involved, you better be in the first half of the line, the last half only gets scraps.
Never, ever let a railroader know you have food.
And Frosty, is soooo good..

Oh Missouri - I was afraid you'd gone away. I read a lot of posts and never once saw yours in there. I have some great train stories I am going to post - I know you will enjoy reading them.

Gerald: I think you may have a Lincoln transplant from UNL up there right now. His first name is George and he was at our Foundation.
Ring any bells?

Idaho is good! I have been there - don't remember it, but it's ok...

She is really ticked cuz it is 88 degrees and about 60% humidity right now and she can't wait to get back to cooler climes. And if you want a tornado, we seem to be having our fair share this year - and fairly close to Lincoln!

The title said no cowards. Why are you responding? If you are bored, go find that data that was requested from you. Or are you afraid as to what you might find?

Name: Gerald
Location: East Lansing, MI.
Occupation: University Administrator (guess where)
Trains interest: primarily model railroading, but watch the prototype (not a die-hard rail fan) and riding excursions is fun, too.

Sooblue - I kind of thought the same thing a time or two. I worry about Ed giving out his information, but in this day and age of information, I guess anyone can find anyone else.

By the way - my daughter is visiting here from Bemidji...nice town, but wouldn't want to live with all the mosquitos!

Kind of scary isn't it.

Just think if you really put down your name and town that you live in.

You've seen all the NUTS on this forum with their irrational thinking and in your face demeaner.

If you gave them your real name and town they could turn up on your door step.

They could STALK you. You'd have to constantly look over your shoulder.

You'd have to sit with your back against a wall.

You wouldn't sleep at night anymore.

You'd wonder, wonder, wonder.

Next thing you know you'd become parranoid and the men in the white suits would come and take you away.

YOU wouldn't REALLY use your real name and town
would you?
