Thats an option which sets Uniheads apart from the ordinary, we think before we act.
So think for a while, and help us come up with a grand enough title for you...

oooh...a grand title - and me just a country pumpkin....

How about the matriarch of the Unihead family? Sound too old? Can hardly wait to see who the patriarch is!!!!!

I think since you are the head Unihead you should pass out titles!

No Dorothy, I'm not in Kansas anymore. Was in KC. I'm in McCook. Just got Deadheaded from Lincoln this morning. Probably won't last here in McCook very long. You need a good 20 years to hold anything good. Talk to you later.

I am so glad to hear you are in NEBRASKA! That's close enough for me - just in the state is great!

If I remember right - seems that McCook had its own division. Glad you got to Lincoln anyway. Keep us all informed where you go and when you go!

We will want a travelogue! :)

I think in keeping with the democratic way even though you are not married to anyone one this site. you should be the first lady. or the queen of uniheads. if this is good with ed these are my suggestions.

Okay Kev,
If you are refering to the Land of Oz the actual name of the show is the Wizard of Oz. So that name of the "bad" man is the Wizard. The city is called Emerald City. I am thinking Missouri is in his own state (although I could be wrong) and Mike well I have know clue where he is for All I know he could be just down the road. Of course my theory of flying monkeys are bad. I take bird crap over monkey crap any day.

Sir, if I remember right, the track in that territory is strait and flat. Just like the scenery. That must make for some long boring day's when running a train. Am I wrong?
I hope I have not offended. I drove through there several years ago. I came across some rail crossings were you look down the track and see track so long and strait the rails look like they touch near the horizon.

Gentlemen: I am truly flattered and honored.

My first wish is for peace on the forum and that we keep our sense of humor.

Now where is that BBQ and Chocolate Cake?

Jen ( I will only use the title on special occasions)

Tim - Nebraska and Kansas have some of the flatest ground you would ever want to encounter - in a car. We do have some hills - bluffs around Council Bluffs IA - around the "Mizzoura" River.
Western Nebraska is a little better, but still fairly flat. We have no mountains, no oceans, not much in the way of water with the drought, but we do have some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

The winters in Nebraska are Minnesota cold, the summers are Texas hot and the humidity is Florida for 9 mos of the year! That is in the east, where I live. Out west is less humidity, more rain and a lot less people. We have one county that has only one "town" of any size in it. And we have a huge sandbox up north around Valentine NE.

Tim A,
I don't think I have had the pleasure of speaking to you yet. If you are replying to me "Mel" my name is actually Melissa. I am not sure if sir referd to me or not-lol. If so I take no offense!
I use the nick name Mel because it is shorter and easier. (me being lazy I guess) As for Kansas being flat? You must have been through Western Kansas. I have never been to that part and I have heard it is very flat. We have the Flint Hills in Kansas also. The land is actually beautiful(when the farmers are not burning)If you come a little farther East there are actually lots of trees and greenery. We have lots of farm land but also alot of unused land that has nothing but trees. We by no means have mountains as you all well know but we do have hills. It is not so much you can't always see miles down the tracks because there are no hills but more the curves and trees. That is more my area. I am not saying Kansas is all that great(lol) but it is not quite as boring as people make it out to be. It has many pretty areas. If you just come in a little farther!!! Well as for boring I am sure some places are I don't know. How many of you all have been into the heart of Kansas in your travels? I bet you could paint a better picture then me on this! Honestly the closer you get to the Flint hills the more untame the land. I don't know that very many if any tracks really go through the Flint Hills but I know they are in the areas around So maybe a few of you have been around this area to see. Any way just clearing up a few misconceptions about me (Mel) and Kansas's horrible boring flat lands!!!
Take care always,
Mel

Jenny, Your plea for information as to the whereabouts of the cake falls on deaf ears. It has been widely published, 6/02/03 12:35pm, that you knew, precisely, where the cake was located. Of course, there is the possibility that particular cake NO LONGER exists. Quite likely, I fear.

Ladies, Please forgive me. I tend to write before I think.(A bad habit most of us men have). When I was reading the conversations someone mentioned the land of OZ. I assumed both you ladies were from the western part of your states. I traveled extensivly through western Neb. and Kansas. I worked as a consulting Engineer for several cellular phone companies looking to set up cell sights.
I still travel through Eastern Kansas. I make several trips a year from Kansas City to Chanute Kansas to attend radar seminars. And yes that part of Kansas is very nice.
And Jen yes the people in Nebraska are very friendly. In 1992 I ran out of gas just outside of Kearney Neb. A farmer stopped and took me to his farm for gas. His wife insisted that I stay for Supper. (A very good meatloaf.) They were so kind, the next day before leaving Kearney I stopped at the local store and bought toy's and dropped them off, for they had two small boy's. I still get a Chistmas card from them.
