Tim A,
I don't think I have had the pleasure of speaking to you yet. If you are replying to me "Mel" my name is actually Melissa. I am not sure if sir referd to me or not-lol. If so I take no offense!
I use the nick name Mel because it is shorter and easier. (me being lazy I guess) As for Kansas being flat? You must have been through Western Kansas. I have never been to that part and I have heard it is very flat. We have the Flint Hills in Kansas also. The land is actually beautiful(when the farmers are not burning)If you come a little farther East there are actually lots of trees and greenery. We have lots of farm land but also alot of unused land that has nothing but trees. We by no means have mountains as you all well know but we do have hills. It is not so much you can't always see miles down the tracks because there are no hills but more the curves and trees. That is more my area. I am not saying Kansas is all that great(lol) but it is not quite as boring as people make it out to be. It has many pretty areas. If you just come in a little farther!!! Well as for boring I am sure some places are I don't know. How many of you all have been into the heart of Kansas in your travels? I bet you could paint a better picture then me on this! Honestly the closer you get to the Flint hills the more untame the land. I don't know that very many if any tracks really go through the Flint Hills but I know they are in the areas around So maybe a few of you have been around this area to see. Any way just clearing up a few misconceptions about me (Mel) and Kansas's horrible boring flat lands!!!
Take care always,
Mel
