I'm so sorry to hear about your father's worsening condition. Take comfort in the fact that God will take Russ to a better place, where there is no suffering or pain. For the past weeks you've been worrying about someone else, now it's time to remember that God loves YOU.

I remember when my grandfather died. It had been coming for a long time, so we had a lot of time (and practice, so to speak) to prepare ourselves emotionally. Even so, long after the grief has subsided, there is a gap left.

While you may feel sad, be happy for your father who is now in a better place. Anybody can be sad, just as anybody can be angry. It takes effort to be happy, just as it takes effort to love.

We find out on Sunday 16, 2005, That my Dad has Tumor in his Stomach now. That he will maybe having Surgery this week, but the Doctors said that he has a 50/50 chance of Living.

We could all have an intellectual discussion concerning the power of prayer. We could question if there is such a thing, or does it work, and still not arrive at an absolute answer.

No religion is being is being promoted in this thread. What we have is a fellow member of this forum asking for support and prayers for his father who is very ill.

You or I or anyone else here can chose to offer such support or not. You could have chosen to ignore this thread completely.

Whether you believe or not, to deny that such support and prayer offer comfort to others that do, is both ignorant and in this case mean spirited.

If this post, or this thread is inappropriate, the forum moderator is free to pull it.

It amazes me how a rational person would think that asking strangers to "pray" to a "god" would change anything. If there were a god who could control what happens, why would asking strangers to "pray" to that "god" change anything. I think you would be better served by making sure he gets the best medical care possible.

Today Oct. 15, 2005. My Dad is Worse Today than on Friday, he had a bad night. Today his BP 98/50 he sleeping more and not eating that well plus 30% of his Heart is Working and bad Lungs from smoking and railroad for 41 Years, I feel very bad today that he going down hill again and I hate to see my Dad in that hospital bed. I hope god doesn't take him this weekend.

A couple yrs ago, when I was on vac, my dad was complaining about chest pains that would not go away. This was in the morning after telling my mom he had been feelng this way all night long. She drives him to hospital, they then say he his having a heart attack and transfer him to Wichita. I get a call about this and go down there. To make a long story short he did not have a heart attack but was a severe case of pneumonia--at the time the doctors were treating it as a heart attack. He was in ICU for a day and stayed for a total of three days in the hospital. Everything turned out okay and he is doing fine still. What a scary moment when we didn't know for sure what was going on and I feared the worse. That was a vac I'll never forget.
