I'm not sure how I missed this thread in the past. CRman, I am saddened for you and your family upon the passing of your father. I feel certain that after a life of hard work on the railroad that he is in a better place...

May the peace of the season be with you...

It is good to see your name again. I am sorry you went through such a hard time, but now you know how you felt and can help comfort others in the future who come under the same circumstances.

Remember, many people on these forums exchange emails. Since you do not have your email listed, none of such could send you a personal condolence. But you are still welcome to email those of us who have our email listed. Many friendships are formed and strengthened through the avenue of email. Trust me, they open a new door for friends and friendships.

Take Care and God Bless

I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

There are no words that will take away your pain. But please know, that we, your forum family, stand with you to comfort you and be your friends. It is never easy to lose a family member wether it be a person or even a house pet. It will take time to heal the pain but as time passes it will become easier to make it through each day. Don't dwell on the past but look forward to the future to meet with him in Heaven. Cherish every moment with your family now while you can. Don't forget your father, but try to remember the good times you and he had together.

Keep your chin up and look forward to each new day. We are with you in spirit as God's Holy Spirit ministers to you and your family.

My best wishes to you and yours.

Conrailman, I just want to echo eolafan's message. Last Thanksgiving day, my father lost his battle with leukemia. Fortunately, my brother made it from Buffalo the day befroe so the whole family was together. Remembering the good times will help. It will take time but keep in mind the support of family and friends. They are there for you. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Conrailman, all I can say (other than to offer you and your family my condolances) is to urge you to always remember the good times and not any of the not so good like the recent weeks and your fond memories of Dad will carry you through these tough times. As others have said, your Dad was fortunate to pass in his own bed with loved ones surrounding him, and I hope and pray I will also be so fortunate some day myself.

Conrailman, CW and I send you and your family our condolences.
Ed's advice is very good: as long as you keep your Dad in your
heart, and honor him, he'll always be with you.

Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!

Ah,
But for the chance to die at home, in my own bed, surrounded by the ones I love...my family and friends.

Much better than meeting death in a sterile place, surrounded by strangers who know nothing of me, but only my illness.

If you honor your father, then heed the lessons he taught you, and keep him always in your heart.

As long as you do, he will never really be gone; a small part of him will live on in you...

Ed

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread earlier, now that I saw it, the last post informs of your father's death, I'm very sorry for your loss. But be sure that your father is in a much better place than we are, and this is not the end of it, but you will meet again.

It amazes me how a rational person would think that asking strangers to "pray" to a "god" would change anything. If there were a god who could control what happens, why would asking strangers to "pray" to that "god" change anything. I think you would be better served by making sure he gets the best medical care possible.

cnwrwyman,
I have been reading the posts on this forum for quite awhile and have found the members to be knowledgable, considerate and kind. I respect the opinions of its members and consider them my friends, even though I have not met any personally.
You Sir, are the exception. Never has a posting disillusioned me so! Your lack (absence) of tact and compassion amaze me. A fellow forum member has requested help. Why are you so adamant in giving him succor?
If it troubles you so, why did you open the "topic" file? Let me say, that I will be the first person to uphold your right to "speak your mind", but your execution of this is very, very, poor. You chose a bad venue in which to promote your values. I believe you owe conrailman an apology!
