I made the run from Elburn to Chicago in 24 seconds flat today, and have the video on Facebook to prove it!

The G-forces were daunting, but nothing compared to the people who were launched onto the train by the wheelchair lift!  Halfway through the run I saw NS's NS heritage unit (8104?  Red and black), and at Proviso I saw the D&RGW heritage unit and a new GE test unit (2024? Blue all over).  That radiator profile looks like it could scrape a tunnel or two!

The Rio Grande unit was on the MNPPR the other night and there was a NS heritage unit (I'm thinking the same one Carl saw) in QNPEL's consist the same night.  We met both out in western Iowa.

Yesterday afternoon, I saw the UP TV commercial on the History Channel.  I almost missed it, even though I had seen a preview of it on the employee website.

Speaking of being on TV, I had my first inward facing cameral equipped engine the other day.  I imagine it was working, though the ATC/Cab signal wasn't.

I'm in Chicago now, having arrived on the Empire Builder only 2:32 late. We did well until we reached North Dakota (as expected). Friday, I will be home again, and will take my laptop to the builder for refurbishing, and will not have to use hotels' business centers for communication when I am on the road again (the hotel in Seattle does not open its business center on weekends--apparently they do not expect businessmen on the weekends, and do not understand that other people may want to use the facility). Both in Prince Rupert and in Jasper (as well as in other places) no one else seemed as interested in communicating as I was, and I had plenty of time to catch up and to add my thoughts to the milieu.

Jeff, welcome to the camera club, our company is installing them in all our new trucks. Got some odd looks from our safety department head after a few drivers asked what happens if they drive naked..........

Speaking of being naked, a log truck hit a school bus in Florida this afternoon, reports of the female passenger being naked, no word on what was going on prior to the crash..........

Well, I have 46,000 lbs of milk replacer to deliver to Guntersville, AL, in the morning, so see everyone later..........

Well, we got our gully washed proper today!  We have had at least 2 inches and maybe more.  Driver & I were on the east and south end of town and we had to pull over twice due to heavy rain and no visibility.  Of course, here at the house we had only had moderate rain.  But it has rained pretty consistantly since we came home @ 5 pm - and I am almost positive I heard a boat whistle on our street.  No flooding predicted.

I love rain!  Shy

One of my coworkers just planted grass seed at his new house.  He and his wife went on vacation this week.  I told him I'd keep an eye on the grass seed and keep it watered.  So far, no problem.  I watered it a little Saturday night, some on Sunday, and a lot Monday, and almost all day today.  Tomorrow, I'll probably just water it about 40% of the time in the morning, tapering off towards the afternoon.

If I find the guy that sold Kalmbach on using white as a background, he's gonna find out how unpleasant it is being run over by a loaded semi. Guessing they have never used a smartphone in a dark environment before...........

The CB is like a port in a storm - no matter how bad, you can always duck in here and get away from all the problems.

I haven't found getting around is too much of a problem.  But then I just post and go and don't do anything too fancy.

Now back to more important matters:  where is mah fork?

You are right, Mutt.  I have it scotch taped to mah hand - and now it is a spoon!  I find that things fall off more on a fork - no trouble with a spoon!

My goodness - a real lynch mob over the new forum.  I have had no problems.  I type; I mouse; I run mah mouf; I R Done.  I don't do technical; I don't do spell check - I re-read it; I don't do pix; I train watch; I report.  What is everyone so upset about.

And a plug for Angela - she has the patience of a saint to put up with all the nonsense.  There are so many other things people could expend their energy on rather than ranting at a lady who has a job they can't pay most people enough to do.

Now - back to my spoon and the next course - chocolate cake w/raspberry filling.  Back off - it's mine!   Grumpy

Mookie, I agree with you about the reaction to the new forum format, but people don't tend to like change.   At my age I especially don't like change, but I'll play with it and eventually get used to it.   So far, I see a few things better and a few things worse.

Now, after all that pie and cake, what's for desert?

Ms Mook, as I noted in one or another of the threads, it seems like what disappears with such changes is what people use, while features that see little action remain.  I, for one, miss the feature that puts the most recent posts at the top all of the time, without having to click on a button.

But we seem to be getting by.

I think we'll all get used to it eventually, although I wish we had spell check. The MR forums have been like this for a while, and after the learning curve, things settled down. I think the same will happen here.

Tree, how do you do the coloring?
