I was on the ladder when Ma Nature said it was time to leave. (there will be a 24 Hr delay on progress)

Nigel got bandages removed today, healing nicely. The donut comes off Thursday.

Not until you can shine roadapples. Most likely it will be run to self destruction  in short order. For now, it shall remain a white roadapple with dimples.

The Fordasorous known as Lurch?

Lurch most likely is in Mexico by now if even in one piece anymore. Stuck with a Fordosaurus Exploder earlier this year until the company vehicle purchases catch up with expansion. Now has 120K+ plus a new tranny, radiator & wiring harness (plus repairs from being rear ended). I would expect I will have the truck past 250K or when repairs start driving the beancounters nuts. The company started specifying 3/4 Ton Chevys with an odd Tundra or two for lighter duty work after some of the other Fordasaurus' reverted to their natural state with heavy use. (Hope springs eternal that performance & reliability will outlast cheap at the mothership.)

Just had a nasty hailstorm in Denver. Time for new screens and shingles at the house.

There won't be any fall colors here after today's shreddamatic episode.

Day two of the Massena train show (Norwood Model Railroad Club) is in the books.  Like Saturday, beautiful, sunny weather, with temperatures in the mid-70's limited attendance, but I still talked to a lot of attendees.

The show was right across the river from the Massena yard, so we were occasionally treated to some "real" train sounds, in addition to all the models at the show.

Lots to do this week right here at home, before heading back to the railroad next weekend!

Coming to a TV near you, a new UP television advertising campaign.  Begins Sept 29.  Look for them on all the ones you would expect, those that have political or financial programming, plus TBS, ESPN, HGTV, the Food Network and the History Channel.  (Even if there isn't much history on the History Channel anymore.)

From the looks of that track, the train didn't have to jump very far!

Scary part is the photo wasn't scrunched-up by a telephoto lens. PennCentral revisited.

Larry, back in 1965, '67 & '68 I got to spend a couple of months each not far from your neck of the woods (Ilion, NY), and got a chance to explore some of the beautiful country up there, though never in fall.   Beautiful picture.   We don't have much of an autumn down here.

CSX is doing some ROW work here on the A&WP sub.  For the first time in at least 20 years trees adjacent to tracks are being removed.  The pine trees are starting to lean over the tracks inviting a major track fouling  if any storm happens especially winter ice storms or heavy snows..

Even this Saturday daytime trains are passing at restricted speeds.

OK, three days on the railroad done (the fall colors in the central Adirondacks are fabulous!), now two days of trying to get more people to ride the railroad.

Moose River from the McKeever Trestle.

Well, my trip to the coast of British Columbia is done; I returned to Jasper yesterday, after another two days' travel from Prince Rupert. We were again delayed by freights, though not as badly as were going west. We left Prince George late because CN let a freight out ahead of us--and it had some problem once it entered the only track out of town. It looked to be solid empty iron ore hoppers--I assumed that a warning to use radiant heat only, and not to exceed 250 degrees F. meant that they were for iron ore. The worst problem came when a signal misfunction kept us stopped after a work train that was ahead of us had cleared the main. However, we were only forty-five minutes late getting in ( the three previous delays were at least an hour and more).

Today, I start back to Vancouver, riding in a compartment in one of the cars built for the CP's Canadian.

Fall is fell,

The leaves as well

Are falling to the ground.

And everyone knows

When the cold wind blows,

Jack Frost will soon be 'round.

There's an awful lot of projects that I wish I'd gotten to this summer and didn't...
