Now, tell me why a publisher should force any or all of its customers into a high-cost delivery system which the marketplace says most customers don't want.

It's back to "want" vs. "need."

I never said ship by first class or demand!!!! You can continue to ship any class you want. I don't care. But why not release the product in waves. Continue to ship 2nd class but conduct a study, look at your data and see who takes longer to receive the product. This forum is a good start. 1st wave = longest delivery time, 2nd wave.....Even out the odds.

Could the recent rash of hurricanes and tropical storms have anything to do with the current problem?

It is obvious to me that either the postal gods were smiling on me, or someone goofed and put my copy in the First Class bag. At any rate these things tend to even out and who knows, my next copy may not arrive until the 10th of November.

That is fine with me. Even though Trains is curently at the top of my list of favorite magazines, the very reasonable $30 cost for an upgrade to First Class delivery is not a price I am willing to pay. I may WANT the magazine hot off the press, but I sure don't NEED it. I prefer to put the 30 bucks toward something else I want.

Since I started this mess by announcing of the arrival of my November copy on the 21st
of September, my apologies to those whose patience has been tested. Next time I'll keep it to myself.

Jay

Mine arrived 10-7, but then I live in the only one of the contiguous 48 states that USPS serves by wagon train.

Oct. 8 has come and gone, and still no TRAINS. Got my October issue of CTC Board, however!

Edit: Nothing in the mail Oct. 9 either!

Oh joy, Oh joy!! My package just arrived from the mail forwarders...[:D].......... open it up and sure enough there's a Trains Mag inside....[^]........... oh wait, you guys were talking about your November issue, weren't you? I just got the October issue. [:(] Oh well, you know what they say, it's all new until you read it. There's actually something old fashioned and satisfying about reading October's issue in October. [;)] By the way, got my October Model Railroader in the same package.

8 days from the border!? I think they're using burro express for delivery. [(-D]

Later, I've got reading to do! [8D]

Regards

Ed
