Mookie Down to 30 from the 40's early, early this am. Murphy is slopping a "blue line" slowly over the SoDak border into Nebraska. Silly Murphy! His wind is huffy puffy, but it will all freeze in place before it gets here.

(thank goodness!)
Found some gold over the weekend. Took it in to my dentist this morning but she couldn't make it go back into the mother lode. So I gave her the gold and I got what looks like a spot of white toothpaste on my gumline. It wasn't much bigger than a pinhead, so managed to not swallow it and got it scotch-taped to a piece of paper. I can't believe the carpet gods didn't get it. They eat everything else!

An early winter seems to be on it's way to southeast Michigan. National Weather Service is calling for a low of 22* Monday and Tuesday nights.

It was just cold and a bit breezy when I went into the TV station tonight. It was raining when I came out. Surprise! Looks like the white stuff is staying north.
Another busy day tomorrow - any number of projects to work on before I head back in to the TV station for the second night of this little auction. I have no idea how it's going - I just point the camera where they tell me to and take my breaks when I can.
Time for bed!

Frozen buns at the Football game last night. Went and helped Grandpa K. in Celina and said Happy Birthday too. Noticed some new tracks north in Van Wert. Seems they are prepping for an industrial park. Sunday school and church tomorrow. Also have company as well. Busy week coming as well.
stay safe

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
35 degrees and time to put on my fur nose warmer.
Quiet weekend ahead, which reminds me of a sign I once saw: "...home alone, the phone rings and you hope it isn't for you."
I think that pretty much covers it!
Home this weekend for Trainfest, semi is at Kenworth having a recall done (I hope, have not heard back from the dealer, dropped it off Wednesday night, they said it would not take long.) No snow here yet, but had heavy frost this morning, glad I mulched the leaves into the lawn Thursday.....
Decided to upgrade to a new phone today, got a Samsung Galaxy 4S, nice phone. My only mistake was going to U.S. Cellular on the day that they released the IPhones for the carrier, and their new computer system is still not working correctly. Took two and a half hours to get the phones switched over.....
Mud: On the topic of trucks held together with spit and baling wire, we used to have some old trailers with aluminum floors inside. When a forklift went in the trailer, the floor made a lot of noises that were slightly disconcerting. I used to half-joke to newer forklift drivers that if they heard a loud bang, to get out of the trailer, because the floor was about to drop to the ground.......
See everyone later......

Trip to Thendara today for some housecleaning. Actually, it was freighthouse cleaning. Got rid of a bunch of junk of unknown origin, as well as a whole passel of carpet that got wet and was thus ruined. Our mechanical folks will be moving in there for the winter.
Tomorrow's crew has an equal amount of junk to dispose of.
Found some interesting stuff, too - minor historical items, but interesting just the same.
Ran into snow on the way - a couple of inches by the looks. The roads were clear, though. And it was over all a cold and windy day. The freight house has no heat, so it wasn't the most comfortable working conditions. And a lot of the carpet was still wet - which made it just that much heavier.
Off to the TV station Saturday night for their "Locally Made" auction. Should be interesting!
had a glaze of ice on the windshield this morning.Friday is done.Work here and elsewhere to do.Going to go cheer the football team tonight.Mamma wants plenty of blankets.
Joe
Light dusting of that 'white stuff' this morning.
Bad night @ Bed Rock!
Sir C - covered that green ick with a white blanket.
Joe: long past duct tape & baling wire (that's what's holding the truck bed to the frame!).....I'm a roadie for the next 10 days - we ran out of Indians again and the chiefs can't find anybody to hand feathers to....at least I'm not across the Asparagus barrier (awful close though -hope our industrial straw people get it under control soon, the railroad clients won't be happy I'm out on a pipeline job.) Sterling CO - woo-hoo!
Joe - oh dear!
MC well as long as it doesn't need bale wire and duct tape too, it's ok. Busy day at work . Major customer got their computer system fixed and the orders came in. Tomorrow going to take Matt to the high school football playoff game. Our local paper needs a proof reader as they were saying good luck to the baseball team.
Mookie Christmas is coming! Maybe the Mothership....

(my temporary replacement truck is not going away any time soon. There is another field dog's Toyota (P/O/S) truck approaching 200K that was supposed to be replaced in January; that puppy is all bubblegum and band-aids.)
It's the stuff being sent my direction.

Curious, as I've changed my primary account over to Gmail... Unless you're trying to hit the old account.
afternoon
wet day today. VP Biden was in North Baltimore visiting CSX. Heard it jammed things up some more. Tomorrow is United way day at work. We get "chicken" for lunch. Going to check Matt's homework.
Better get a chainsaw.
mudchicken Saw Kansas last night. I'm better now. (trying to figure out why my firewall is having issues with e-mails from Joe, Tree & LARamsGuy)

evening
work chores and errands done.very tired. Tomorrow is another day.
Doogie & Nigel found sand burs at Colby...not fun getting them out of the fur between the pads in their feet.
MC it's all good. Chain can be rattled at times. Can't have Mookie have all the fun. Have a safe trip. Need to sleep fast.
Joe: Birdie has put himself in "time out". Penance tonight will be a trip to Colby, KS tonight (with Co-pilot Doogie & First Officer Nigel) to deliver special safety gear to survey crew working out there. [ 6 hour road trip]
MC that whole "chalk" thing is a bunch of-----------. Can't get through town without 4 wheel drive or boots.Just when you think it would calm down here come everyone's favorite ACLU. They wouldn't have come if the local fishwrap didn't take a jab at the protesters by showing kids drawing on the sidewalks in town. Csx was moving yesterday. Had a rough set of switches at INDO.(milepost 113).Work is busy busy busy. Ns had an engine uptown. Mamma says go in early just this once. Tomorrow is election day.Vote early and often.
You'll have better weather in Ottawa, for sure. Might be a little wet, but it will be warmer. Is it ominous that the reporting marks of that railroad would have started with "Oh-Oh"?There's an aqueduct over the Fox River at Ottawa. Used to be for the Illinois and Michigan Canal, but is now part of the bike trail that follows the canal. Certainly one of the more unusual places to take a bike.I'd say more about the restaurant we visited in Ladd (Rip's--Ladd is a few miles west of Ottawa off 80), but I know how you feel about cannibalism. Not available on Mondays or Tuesdays, or for lunch.
Hotel reservation has been made for the visit to the Wisconsin Quilt Museum and Trainfest this weekend.

Tree: Say hello to Mr. Pillow. (and keep up the good fight when you're rested. Sleep fast!) I'll be paying him a visit soon enough.
Front just blew through here, temperature dropped like a stone. Da boyz are suddenly frisky. All those leaves I picked-up this afternoon suddenly have replacements.(from somebody else's yard) We are beginning to see the weatherliars waffle on how much snow starting tomorrow afternoon. Quit being just flurries.
(Heard Joe was out doing chalk art on the sidewalk today)
Gotta go back to work on the Ottawa Oswego & Fox River Valley RR mess tomorrow.
JoeKohThey had a mess in Erie Pa which caused back ups elsewhere.
One of our volunteers works for one of the package companies. The didn't get some of their trailers on time...
Wrapped up day two of the Syracuse train show. Attendance was apparently pretty good, although they didn't have firm numbers just yet. We were busy most of the time at our booth.
Usually I pick up one package of people. This time I got two. Couldn't resist a package of rail vagabonds. The other was station workers and accessories - mostly some suitcases and baggage handling stuff.
Better late than never department - also picked up at GTW boxcar in commemoration of my visit to Owosso this past summer.
I'm beat. Bed is sounding very tempting...
csx was still backed up today. They had a mess in Erie Pa which caused back ups elsewhere. Going to be a busy week this week.
