Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Not a bad day - overcast, but letting some sun through.
Thought I had to rescue a bird from inside one of the feeders, but it apparently figured out how to get itself out. Maybe that's the plan, get inside, push all the seed down so others can get to it, then get out. Smart little buggers...
Randy - I've see/heard more than a few empties rolling straight through on the main. It's quite a clatter, and I can only be glad that the N-S line is only one track...
Gotta finish wrapping up some stuff from the railroad's show kit so I can get it to the PO before 10. Busy, busy.

Greetings from Kenworth in Sharonville, OH, courtesy of free wi-fi for drivers.....
Larry, that would be like the empty coal/coke train that uses the back leg of the wye from Middletown going back towards Chicago, I have heard them clatter through on occasion.....
Truck is checked in, sounds like this might be a multi-day wait, the service manager had a good idea of what it was by what I told him. Changing the affected part is not a problem, he said it takes about an hour and a half, but it takes a few days to have the part shipped from whatever distribution center they send it from. Apparently, they are having a hard time keeping these parts in stock, this is not the first one for them......

It was a bit chilly when I left for church this morning (about 8:30), and my overcoat felt good. Since today is Palm Sunday, we had a procession into the church for the worship service, about an hour after I got to church--I was vested, as I assisted our pastor during Communion (my responsibility this month), so I did not feel the chill (I did set a good pace as I led the procession of the congregation). We have two more special evening services this week--Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, and then two services Easter morning, with a breakfast served between them.
We have had no snow since yesterday morning, and the streets and sidewalks are clear.
MC should expect no more snow--perhaps until this coming fall, even though he received more than we had the day after our last heavy snow (1-2 inches); perhaps there is a snow generator between the back and front ranges of the Rockies.

Good Evening
Welp...there goes the weekend...all on 'stuff to do'........maybe...?
As for the sunshine? 2 minutes at sunset...
Randy - that would probably be like camping at the railroad park in Deshler. A train of empty hoppers passing over the diamond at 3AM does nothing for ones beauty sleep.
Finished up with the outdoor show - made plenty of contact with potential riders, including past riders who want to come back. Compared to some of the train shows we do, it was small, maybe 4,000 through the gate, but this is a prime market for us.
Feels good to sit down, though. At least we were in the indoor soccer area - the artificial turf was easier to stand on than bare concrete! I still have to sort out the truck, but I think that's tomorrow's task.
Carl: Truck will run, but it's in de-rate mode right now, so don't want to run it more than I have to, checked the map to see where I was going, the CSX main that goes by Hamilton goes by the dealer, so should have access to watch some tomorrow. Our terminal is in the middle of CSX's wye north of Hamilton, one point goes to the steel mills in Middletown, OH. The steel train from Middletown has been known to wake up drivers......
Randy, are you totally immobile, or do you have a way to get around? Train-watching is good at Glendale or Winton Place, both of which are a little south of Hamilton (Winton Place is in the city--exit off I-75 at Marshall Street, and head west toward the tracks).

Mud: Yep, in Trenton, OH, just north of Hamilton, dealer is closed on Sunday, so will head down Monday morning and see how long this will take to fix. Just dinking around today......
MC - your snow missed us. We got maybe an inch - maybe 1.5. Flurries today and tomorrow - but that shouldn't make it any taller. 24 degrees and into 30, which we thought was cold! Did you get your brush fires under control or do they burn right thru the dry snow?

It's a balmy 9 degrees here in Denver with 10" of snow on the ground. We get another 1-2" this afternoon.
Randy, I assume you are somewhere north of downtown...Maybe Sharonville around I-75, I-275? (my old stomping grounds)
Good Morning
mmmm...clear at night...dull right back up early in the morning....mmmmm High today will be 30F....
Church this morning then all kindsa stuff to do ...again...sigh.....
Have a good day.....
Happy Palm Sunday
Breakfast is ready.Matt is getting ready for Sunday school. My bracket was "shocked" yesterday.Hoping a cyclone doesn't hit Dayton today.

Busy day today at the outdoor show - in fact, I'm sitting here printing off more literature since I'm running low on some items.
One more day of the show, then it's catch-up time for a bunch of other stuff.
Toughest part of doing a show is folks who want to chat at length while I've got folks who might have questions or might benefit from my attention. I hate to be rude, but...
First crack at my taxes showed I'll own money, so they're not a high priority.
Good Evening..
Well...I had visions of working away in my trainroom today but wifey needed a 'couple of things done'...turned out to be several...and I'm not even finished...tomorrow we go to church and then finish off the tax return and do some more stuff...dang it...
Climate change....?? I've posted the visual forecast over on my site on facebook...and for Spring....!! 6 to 10" starting I believe Sunday night.
No snow here on the ground this week....but my home area of Somerset, Co., Pa. received over 5" or so this past Wed. When will it stop.
Must travel east in a very few weeks, and we'd like Spring to be "showing", not that stuff.....bummer.

Johnny: You are old enough to remember when you (I) could visit the poultry house and watch them process chicken the old fashioned way.
Buy them fresh and have them within a day or so. They were never frozen, never stuffed full of whatever they give them today to make them more "perfect" and had a good chicken taste.
Even hamburger - if I don't doctor it up with spices and flavorings, it has no taste. Back when you could get hamburger for 3 pounds for a $1 - it also tasted like hamburger with just a touch of salt and pepper.
Good Saturday morning all. Waking up here in Sheeptown, with 42 degrees, according to the Accuweather app on my cell phone, and it's 40 degrees in Metro Louisville. Cloudy, with a chance of light rain coming in later this afternoon with a possibility of a little bit of snow up in Metro Louisville. From the looks of the weather map, here in Shepherdsville, we'll only see rain where north of us, they'll be seeing snow sometime late tomorrow night, into Monday morning.
boc, thanks for getting breakfast ready. Joe, enjoy your vacation, and gets lots of fluids in you, and take care of your cold.
Everyone else, have a good day, take care, keep warm and I'll try to get back in later this afternoon for our pizza fest.
BOC thanks for breakfast.going to be a sunny day.We are going to G+G house tonight.Guessers say another storm is coming on Sunday. We'll have to keep an eye out.
Gonna be a somewhat sunny/cloudy sorta kinda day here high near 32 expected...
Had a good day yesterday..managed to find a few boxcars of the correct vintage to make up a string of graincars 35 cars long...tying that lot to 3 RS2's oughta look good on my layout...
Today? A quiet day is planned....no runnin' 'roun' doin' stuff...hopefully, that is....
I, for one, do not like bbq alligator nor any other such fellow...I prefer me some B'ar meat when it comes to that..
Really? I notice a chickeny flavor to the chicken I eat here; are your worried about our friend, MC?
We had a little more snow during the day today, and expect some more tomorrow, but nothing like the 1-2" we had yesterday morning. We expect the morning lows to be below freezing for a few more days.
