Good Morning

they said it would rain. They said it would thunderstorm. They said it would...but nothing happened. Not even a sprinkle bit showed...even though we were surrounded by green on the radar...we got through without a dang dribble.

Welcome to DroughtVille....Grumpy....wherein one can has barrels of heat and humidity...yesterday we got to 95F feeling like 110F...and see nothing come of it....BUT!! The weatherguessers are still calling for rain today...at 60% chance...Grumpy

Oh...and another piece of 'wonderful' news...my waist is now at 24"...at 138lbs....dang chemo aftershock....Surprise

Today?

Staying indoors, out of the heat and humidity we are seeing today...high of 85F feeling like 104F....and trying to get some more ballasting done for the new yard....

Have a good day all!!!

Good Sunday morning all.  Quentin, that's a real good picture of you and your little girl.

Don't remember the current temp for Louisville this morning, but it feels a little bit better outside this morning.  Our high today is only to be in the mid 80s.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the breakfast/warmer bar.

Everyone have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, railfanning, whatever is on your agenda this morning.  Will see you all sometime this afternoon.

Did an EMS standby at the Antique Boat Museum show today.  Only two minor problems - one a scraped shin and the other someone who tripped over a board sticking up on one of the docks.

The surprising part was that we had not one heat related problem.  I had my pocket anemometer there.  It includes a thermometer (so it can calculate wind chill - not problem today).

The temperature at our EMS canopy topped out at an even 100F.  And we were right on the St Lawrence River.

I'm kinda looking forward to tomorrow's predicted thunderstorms.

Afternoon all.  Well, our Health/Fun Fair went fairly well.  Was on my feet all morning, mostly in the Church kitchen, getting hot dogs ready, and when we opened at 11, was helping put hot dogs on buns, and doling out potato chips, or fruit cups, whichever was wanted, and handing out soft drinks.  I didn't even see most of the booths, as when I got out of the kitchen, just about all of them had cleared out.  But there were lots of people/kids there.  So I think we had a pretty good turnout.

Our Saturday Night Pizza Fest is now underway:

01. Anchovie

02.  Canadian bacon

03.  Cheese

04.  Chicago style

05.  Goetta

06.  Ham & green pepper

07.  Hawaiian

08.  Italian sausage

09.  Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

Desserts:

1.  Chocolate cake

2. White cake w/white icing & coconut

3.  Yellow cake w/caramel icing

4.  Peach cobbler

And ice cream to go with any of the cakes and cobbler.

Everyone have a good evening, take care, and see you all in the morning.

We had Storm - all 3 minutes of it.  But we will take it.  And a north wind, which drifted all the fallen leaves at our back door.

Temp will be mid-80's - and we will take that too.

Guess I can't complain - no one would listen anyway!

Good Saturday morning all.  Haven't heard the weather, but a few minutes ago, Walt and I were outside, and he thought he saw 'sheet' lightning off to the west of us.  I didn't notice it.  We have a 60% chance of thundershowers/storms today:  I just hope they hold off getting here, until after the Health/Fun Fair is over with, and we're all back home!  Along with the Boy Scouts, and other inflatables we'll have, we are also giving away backpacks for grades K thru 12.  Going to be a whole lot of people around there.  Sure don't want anyone to be struck by lightning.  The air is already very still and muggy out.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready.  And our Saturday Morning Brunch is also ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, pancakes, scrambled eggs, country fried steak w/red eye gravy, sausage gravy & made from scratch buttermilk biscuits, bagels, bear claws, chocolate chip muffins, cantaloupe, watermelon, kiwi and papaya.

You all have a safe morning, take care doing/going wherever, and hopefully, I'll see you all later this evening.  Just in case I don't make it back in, the pizzas for tonight are made up, marked as to what kind they are, and in the freezer.

Afternoon all.  Been a busy, busy day.  Darren, I really like the picture!  As Quentin said, it is a beautiful picture.

Our Friday Fish Fry is now ready, and on the warmer/serving station:  all the regular list of fish and the regular side dishes menu and dessert menu.

We've had a couple more moderate showers this morning and early afternoon, but they have moved on eastward, into far eastern KY, and into West Virginia/Virginia.  Not sure what our current temp is, but it is definitely a little bit cooler out, although it is still a little bit muggy/sticky out.

Everyone have a good evening, and I'll see you all either late tomorrow, or Sunday morning.  Take care, and keep safe.

Good Friday morning, all.  Currently at 73 degrees here in Louisville this morning, and guess what:  it appears that we got a little bit of rain overnight.  Although, it doesn't look like we received much:  just enough for the front sidewalk to be damp, enough that you could tell it had rained. 30% chance of showers/tshowers for today.  And tomorrow (when I will be busy over at the Community Center) and Sunday, a 60% chance of thunder boomers.  Hope they hold off tomorrow until after 4:30, 5:00, when we've gotten everything straightened up and cleaned up from the Health/Fun fair.

I worked yesterday, as Mookie calls it, as a 'Domestic Goddess', here at the house:  boy, did I sleep well last night, after I finally got through around 10 p.m., and went to bed about a half hour later.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is ready and on the breakfast bar:  a good selection of doughnuts, danish, bagels, bear claws, along with bacon, eggs, toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all sometime this afternoon.

 blownout cylinder:

Good Morning

Could not get on last night..seemed that there was a TRCC/ error that kept showing up? Very strange as was able to get to main site with no problem earlier...

....I had the same problem late last evening.

Mookie:  That is what I thought as well..the only problem being that I kept getting the TRCC/ error instead of the maintenance message....

----------------------------------------------------------------

Good Evening.

I spent a glorious day indoors with Audrey going through some tracking issues here..Huh?

It was kind of stifling out there...we got to 88F feeling like 103F so it did feel a little sticky...

Darren, that's a nice photograph....I'm assuming it is on a ship state room....Or whatever, it may be ID'd with.

And you're correct, Jen, we got that close, and no further.

And at the same time, the hotel cam down in Roanoke was nothing but a green screen.

Afternoon all.  Currently taking a break from doing laundry.  Just heard on our local 4 p.m. news/weather, that we are currently at 97 degrees.  No wonder I'm just sweating,  with the sweat running down my forehead, sticking my head out the back door!  Trying to get several things done around here, as tomorrow, I'll be busy paying bills, and going to the grocery to stock up for the weekend, since I will be gone Saturday, from 8 a.m. to no telling what time.

The menu for the rest of the afternoon/evening will be:

1.  BLTS w/fries and garden salad

2.  Or, you can have Caesar salad, salad w/chicken

3.  Or, Sloppy Joes w/fries and garden salad

Desserts:

1.  Vanilla ice cream w/black walnuts

2.  Apple, cherry or peach cobbler

3.  Angel food cake w/cherry icing

And, any flavor ice cream is available for Dessert selections 2 & 3.

Have lots of nice, ice cold lemonade, iced teas, fruit punch, tropical punch, and, of course, Gatorade and ice cold water.

Everyone have a good afternoon/evening, take care and see you all in the morning.

Q - think they were doing some housekeeping while letting us look in the window.

We had Storm overnite.  Just about that many drops, too.  Just enough to show up on the concrete.  That's not exactly rain - that is just heavy humidity.

Oh well.  Might as well get used to it.  I'm going to get freckles just going out to Millie!  Tongue Tied

Peace be with you.

77 and partly clear in Carolina, expected to make it to 93 and thunder later.

It took the wife over a hour to get thru the line at CHICK-FIL-A yesterday. She said that there was a line of cars a quarter mile long waiting just to get into the parking lot queue(sp)

Good Thursday morning, all.  70 something degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 98 degrees.  Purposely did not stay around to hear what our heat index would be today.  Had planned to take a bus trip out to my old neighborhood, to Jefferson Mall, but have decided to postpone my trip until Monday or Tuesday  next week, when it is supposed to be a tad bit cooler (highs in the 80s)

Mookie, did you get enough for supper last night?  I think we have plenty left, ifin you'd like some more.  (And yes, there'll still be plenty of leftovers for lunch, at least this afternoon.)

Barry, glad to hear you got some good news yesterday!!  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

We did watch most of the Reds/Padres game last night.  Turned over to TVLand at 10, to watch The Soul Man.  Cedric the Entertainer is so good on that show.  I was very happy to hear this morning, that the Reds won, 6 to4.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is on the breakfast/warmer bar:  bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, fresh from the oven buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy is also available, along with bagels and bear claws.  Larry  and Tom, do you guys want hot tea this morning, or would a tall glass of iced tea work for you??

You all have a good day, keep as cool as possible, and I'll see you all later.

Not a bad day today - decent temps, although I got an earlier start than expected in the form of a leftover from last night's thunderstorms.

Seems a tree fell on some wires just outside our response district last night, but wasn't noticed until this morning.  Unfortunately, the neighboring fire department couldn't muster a response, so we were called.

The electric company showed up and dealt with it.  The tree had been on the wires long enough to burn through some of the branches.  It was interesting watching the guy in the bucket working on live primary wires...

Off to the railroad on Friday to run the locomotive again.  It's great that I get to run, but a pain that we're kinda short of volunteers.

Still +94F here in Hope.   With a lot of humidity. High today was only +96F. The overnite low is supposed to be down to +76F.

Thx Ian
