Good Friday morning everyone.  Looks like it'll be another beautiful, sunshiny day here in the Lou., KY part of the Ohio Valley.  Could see 84 degrees for a high today, and possibly 88 & 89 for tomorrow and Sunday.  No possibility of any rain until Monday.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:  the regular menu of bacon, eggs and toast, along with some doughnuts:  chocolate covered, cc long johns, cc cream filled, cc vanilla filled, and a selection of danish to choose from.

Mookie:  there's always regular milk, and chocolate milk, along with strawberry milk in the fridge, so everyone can help themselves.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Joe - slow down anything coming west.  We are deep in track work right now and have quite a line up waiting to get into the yard.

Q - many sunny days ahead to help with the healing.

CW - I am heading to bed, but must check fridge for glass of milk before I do.  It will make me sleep better in between my trips down the hall....  Smile, Wink & Grin

Good Morning Railfans!

It's 63F and Sunny heading into high 70's and then the bottom should drop out and storms are heading in.

The latest major FIRE is nearly 1,000 acres and growing but so far is still staying away from the homes in the area but evacuation warnings are going out to get folks prepared.  Hopefully these new storms don't whip up the flames or start more but only time will tell...

Updated my blog again today with Day #4 of our 5 day mini vacation.  Lot's of RR stuff on this day including this Frisco Water Tank

Mornin' everybody!

A cool 52* here at The Crossroads of America. Headed for a high of about 79* today.

Q: Good to hear that you have had three good days with Jean. I pray that these good days will continue.

Thanks for  breakfast and coffee CW!

Last night I recived a tip off that NS was running 17K with the EMD SD70ACe demo unit # 2012. Here is the shot that I got of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mainstreamrailfan/7214692142/

Good Thursday morning everyone.  Yesterday evening's thunder didn't produce any rain in our neighborhood, but it has cooled down the temps.  Temperature range this morning is between the low to mid 40s north of us, and mid 50s in our area.  Projected high today for us is to be only about 77 degrees.

Quentin, glad to hear that Jean has seen 3 good days of progress!

Bruce, also glad to hear that your Mom is anxious to get out of the hospital, and settle into her new home.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, eggs, cinnamon toast (actually made with cinnamon butter), oatmeal and cream of wheat, along with regular toast or french toast.

Everyone have a very good morning, take care and if any of you have any meal suggestions for today, I'm all ears, and want to hear the suggestions.

Peace be with you. 0700 and thunder woke me. What a way to start the day! 66 and cloudy in  Carolina, headed for 78 and rain later.

Much turmoil in the political sphere. The state supreme made a ruling that kicked almost 200 people off the ballot for the primary. A rather obnoxious senator, facing serious opposition for the first time blocked a move to get them reinstated in a blatantly self serving move which got rid of his opponent. Now, the feds are involved and the entire primary may be postponed due to his action...... Public servant indeed!

Q, good to hear that Jean is still on the improve. Please give her my regards.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Tom

Another beautiful day here in Calgary. It is 50° now and it is cooling down with rain in the forecast, and temps in the forties for the next couple of days.

It is the Eve of the CPR AGM. By this time tomorrow, one way or another the company is going to begin changing like we have never seen before. Either the existing management realizes things can't continue like they have been, or there is going to be a new boss in town. It ought to be an interesting news day here tomorrow.

Q, good to see Jean is making progress. My Mom is getting restless in the hospital and is getting anxious to move to her new place.

That is all for now.

Bruce

Great picture, Darren!!  I really enjoy seeing the pictures you post each day.  Thank you very much for sharing them with us each day.

It's been a very good afternoon.  We got the rest of the flower pots painted today, at our VBS meeting, then I took a walk, while Walt went to the library (and probably did a little bit of railfanning).

Quentin, hope Jean is continuing to improve, and I'll be continuing to pray for you two each night in my prayers.

For our supper tonight:

1.  Leftover pork chop abracadbra and chicken abracadabra w/mashed taters and butter, broccoli w/butter sauce and also you have another choice of brussels sprouts w/butter sauce, homemade buttermilk biscuits and cream style corn.

2.  Round steaks w/cream of mushroom soup sauce, and any of the above side dishes in #1.

We reached a high of 82 degrees (which made my walk a tad bit on the very warm side, as I was walking home).  But the skies are clouding up, and we will probably be getting some rain showers in the next little bit.  Sure looks like it could start anytime.  Everyone take care, have a good evening, and see you all tomorrow morning.  Just heard a rumble of thunder outside.  Guess the rain is just about here.

Afternoon Railfans!

It's in the low 80's here right now and the local news is once again filled with a new wild fire up near Fort Collins.  Hopefully they can keep this one contained in the valley where it is as not much for homes in that area but high winds could send it into more populated areas.  Got Day#2 and Day#3 of our Wichita trip now in my blog and here is a photo from Day #2.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Wow:  looks like we had no one in here after I was in yesterday afternoon.  You all must have been out and about, enjoying the nice, warm weather.  That's o.k., I've gotten everything cleaned up, and the place is looking like new again.

Coffee is just about ready, and I've made fresh oj, oj/pineapple, oj/tangerine and apple juice.  And breakfast of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast and jelly/jam/preserves, all on the warmer bar.

Everyone have a beautiful day, take care, and I'll see you whenever I get through with VBS work this afternoon.

Good afternoon all.  Sorry about not getting in here this morning:  was just too busy getting ready for today (Produce, and getting supper started in the Slow Cooker.  We're to also have temps in the low to mid 80s, I believe is what I heard on the news this morning:  missed the noon news altogether.

Here's what I have going in the Slow Cooker:

1.  Chicken abracadbra w/onion, cooking in a couple cans of cream of chicken soup; along with the chicken, we'll have mashed taters w/plenty of melted butter, green beans, corn, garden salad, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and milk gravy.

2.  Will also be fixing some burritos and tacos for tonight, as well.

On the Produce truck this morning, we got plenty of potatoes, carrots, romaine hearts lettuce, 1/2 pints of chocolate milk, and the Temptations by Jell-O double chocolate pie pudding cups.  Used some of the carrots and romaine in the salad for this afternoon and tonight.

Everyone take care, have a great afternoon, whatever you'll be doing.  See you all later.

Good Morning Railfans!

It's 42F and clear here heading up to the low 80's again today.  Bunny, what bunny?  So far it has not shown up in our yard since I took away it's safe spot under the shed.  Saw a coyote on the way to work so the bunny better stay close to it's new safe spot or become a fast food meal.  Got the first day of our Wichita Trip posted on my blog <click here> but here is one shot I took on Day #1 I think all will enjoy.

Peace be with you. 68 and cloudy in Carolina, headed for 85 and thunder later. We got right at an inch of rain yesterday, and the town got knocked around some. Apparently a substation took a hit and about two thirds of the town went dark for over 2 hours. Here, we never knew about it till the evening news reported it. There may be a repeat today. Also, there were several tornado warnings, and widespread hail, but aways off from us.

Q, give my regards to Jean and tell her I inquired about her and continue to pray for her.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Ditto Bruce's weather.  Sun and mid 80's all week.  Sending it on to Jean so she can sit and soak it up.  (vitamin D, you know)

I will vouch for the fact that trains are still running.

Tree - I bet CW has ours furnished already.

Tomorrow is our election day - We voted by mail a long time ago, so I am going to go hide under the bed.  TV will get a rest tomorrow nite!

Well, it has been a beautiful couple of days here in the foothills of the blue Canadian Rockies. Sunny with highs in the seventies and a high of 81° called for tomorrow.

Everyone got in to visit Mom yesterday. Today is lease signing day at the new residence.

Quentin, glad to hear Jean is progressing well.

Didn't see any news local RR news today.

Rain stayed south today - may see some tomorrow.

Afternoon folks.  Still trying to get awake, but at least I've gotten a few things done, along with going back to sleep this morning.  Just cannot seem to wake up today.  Guess between the doctor appointments last week, and everything else that I had going on, my system is trying to tell me it needs to 'play catch up' today.

I've warmed up the leftovers from our Sunday Dinner, and everything is now on the warmer bar.  If there's any roast left after you all finish lunch (and there should be, I made three of them yesterday, along with 2 of the pork chop abracadbra), think I'll fix open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters and gravy, along with some other side dishes for supper tonight.  Any objections?  If so, let me know what you'd like to have instead.
