Good Morning Railfans!

It's 59F and clear heading for a record breaking heat in the low 90's; yesterday we just missed breaking the record high.

News on the Bunny front.  We now have seen two babies but the neighbors got serious and have so far trapped the mother and one of the babies last night.  They hope they can catch the other baby today and the drop off the whole family down at the park along the canal.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  Partly cloudy skies this morning, with temps ranging from 56 to 61 degrees in our area.  Going for a high of about 75, 76 this afternoon.  Should be a pretty nice day for whatever needs to be done.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Don't worry, Tom and Tree, also have plenty of hot water ready for your cups of hot tea.  Breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and toast is ready and waitin' on the warmer bar.

Have a good morning, everyone take care, and I'll see you all this afternoon.

Modelcar

.....Thank you Bruce....She walked about a half mile today.  Back and forth here on our street.  A good day.

Wow, Q - that is great!  1/2 mile today....1/2 marathon tomorrow!

Bruce - Mothers are known to be very resilient, so my bet is she will do ok after the initial adjustment.

Eating a tomato right now.  Not out of a garden, but not all that bad.  I eat the little guys so I don't waste any and they make good snacks.

Trains are really quiet!  Even tho we don't hear the whistles any more, we hear the whine of the engines as they pull the grade just west of here.  I have heard nothing.  So I should probably drag The Driver down trackside tomorrow and make sure all is ok....Big Smile

Greetings everyone, and I hope my fellow Canadian readers had a nice Victoria Day weekend. Our May long weekend. Our Victoria Day weather is 66° and partly cloudy right now.

Tomorrow my Mom gets out of the hospital and moves into her new home at a seniors facility. This is more complicated than you might think, and new issues seemed to be popping up every day. But now everything is a go.

Q, glad to hear everything is progressing in your part of the world.

That is all I have for now.

Every day you learn something!

Neighbors behind us have 3 story house that is getting a new roof.  Old roof is off; nails are all pounded in properly and shingles will go up before much longer. .

I learned that there is no way they would ever get me up on the roof or keep me there.  Hate heights!  Standing on a curb is a real accomplishment.

Been hungry for roast beef, so will make me a sandwich.  Yum!

You've got some really nice pictures there, Darren!  I for one, am glad you are sharing them with us, here in the Cafe.

We are currently at 73 degrees at 12:05 p.m.  And it is very overcast outside, making it a good day to finish up on getting laundry done.  Have to wonder if we'll make it to the projected 81 degrees for this afternoon.

I've got lunch on the warmer bar:  leftover roast, taters & carrots, other side dishes and desserts from our Sunday Dinner menu yesterday.  Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Very pleasant this morning, with a temp of 68 degrees here in Louisville, going for a high in the low 80s this afternoon.  Should have seasonal temps until the weekend, when we'll be seeing temps in the low to mid 90s?  Yuck!!

Coffee, juice and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:    bacon, eggs, toast and cereal, along with some fresh strawberries.

Hope you all had a good weekend, since it looks like no one made it back in here last evening.  Also hope everybody has a good day today.  Take care, and see you all later this afternoon.

Sunday Dinner is on the warmer bar:  roast, taters, carrots, beef gravy, cole slaw, dinner rolls, garden salad (for those who don't eat slaw) and green beans.

Dessert:  Yellow cake w/ white icing, peach or apple cobbler, and ice cream.

It has been a lazy afternoon for me, after getting home from Church.  Should be back over at the Church right now:  having a One Night in May, which is about when the Church and the gym had been closed, and was reopened.  Neighborhood kids didn't like that fact, so they broke into the gym, not  to steal anything, but so they could go in and play basketball, etc, because they had nowhere else to go, to play/hang out.  So the Episcopal Diacess (sp?) decided to reopen the Church and the gym.

Hope everyone has had a very good day, enjoy your evening, take care and see you all in the morrow.

Darren's been wanderig thru Kanza going in something other than a straight line and wondering why there were so few diagonal highways in the Land of Ah's/ Flying Monkey Preserve?

That can be a mixed blessing.  I grew up with the phenomenon in MI.  There are a few "here to there" roads, but most follow the NS/EW grid of the townships.

Here in northern NY, pretty much all of the roads go from "here to there," and not always on a straight line.  You might think you're headed in the right direction, but all too often find out otherwise.

Finally recovering from our excursion to Tupper Lake on Thursday.  We shuttled the Lake Placid trainset to Tupper for an event there the next day.  A mechanical problem delayed our departure for nine hours, rendering the last several hours of the trip in total darkness.  And I want to tell you, when you're a number of miles from anywhere on a moonless night in the middle of the Adirondacks, it gets Beerdark[/i].

I finally got home almost 24 hours after I left, and had to work a local event (a car show) for the ambulance Friday afternoon.

Beautiful day on Saturday, so I put off working on a raffle ticket job so I could enjoy more of the car show (and more cars) on Saturday.  It's beautiful today, but I'm stuck inside transfering ink from type to paper.

CB, no, this one will fizzle in a few days. Good morning/afternoon all. Welcome back Nora. It is good to see you again, and I hope you are well.

80 and sunny in Carolina and that is the projected high. Not a whole lot to report at this time.

Peace be with you.

Hi Nora!  Get bits and pieces from places on this forum and FB, but don't know if you are still working for RR or not.  Bet the boys are getting to be young men by now.

You need to stop in once in awhile and keep us updated.

Good Sunday morning everybody!  Nora, hello and welcome!  Question:  Are you the Nora who used to come in, work for the railroad, and live in the northeast?  If so, welcome back!!  Good to see you.

68 degrees this morning in Louisville, KY, and going to be another hot day here.  Supposed to see a high of 88 again this afternoon.May get some rain sometime tomorrow, and supposed to cool down into the low to mid 70s for Tuesday, Wednesday.

Coffee, juice and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:  pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls, bacon, eggs and toast, along with leftover pizzas from last night (you can eat it cold, or heat it up in the microwave).

Tom, that was a very nice thing the guy and his Dad did for you.  You are truly blessed.

Everybody have a good morning, take care  going to Church, work, railfanning, whatever/wherever you have to go this morning.  Have a couple of Crock Pots going with roast, taters & carrots going for our Sunday Dinner later.

The tree man and his dad showed up and got the antenna cleared and unhung so that it will rotate again. Then, they did some trim work alongside the driveway. When I asked who to make the check out to, he said that he and  dad had a very enjoyable time working together and that was pay enough, and it was on them. I have truly been blessed this day. PTL.

Now we have a tropical storm east of us, moving to the southwest, and projected to turn north and then northeast. Looks like we may see some of it.

Everyone have a great evening.

Well, we had a good afternoon with our VBS planning session.  Didn't get home until after 4:30, but we got a lot of things accomplished in just over 2 hours' time, and got everything cleaned and straightened up for Church tomorrow.  And it was very warm today, as we made it up to 88 degrees this afternoon.  Things are progressing very well.

Tom, I'll check on that with the boss man, on the weather program.

Pizzas are now made, baked and on the warmer bar for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest:

01.  Anchovie

02.  Canadian bacon

03.  Cheese

04.  Ghicago style

05.  Goetta

06.  Ham & green pepper

07.  Hawaiian

08.  Italian sausage

09.  Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

Desserts:

1.  Apple crumb cake

2.  Chocolate cream pie

3.  Peach cobbler

4.  Chocolate cake

Everyone have a good evening, enjoy your pizzas, take care and see you all in the morning.

Peace be with you. 60 and cloudy in Carolina, headed for 77 and clear later. Today is MAYFLY, the bi-annual airshow, and there have been all sorts of planes flying low for the past noisy 48 hours.

We got almost exactly 3 inches of rain this past week. It was welcomed and was a blessing. PTL

CW, why don't you download the WEATHER CHANNEL TOOLBAR? It's free and you will have current weather and up to 10 day forecast on your monitor all the time. This is not the desktop application, which is also available.

Got a tree man coming to unhang one of my antennas later today. Been waiting a long time for this.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Current temp here in Louisville this morning is 60 some odd degrees.  Doesn't feel too bad outside, since the sun isn't out quite yet.  Heard on the morning weather report that our high today, around 4, 5 p.m., will be about 86, 87 degrees.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And our Saturday Brunch of bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, fried taters, country fried steak and pork chops are on the warmer bar; also have some fresh fruit (pineapple chunks, peaches, blackberries, strawberries) on the cooler part of the bar.

Everybody have a good morning and afternoon, take care  and I'll see you all after I get back from VBS preparations.

Quentin, glad to hear that Jean is having another good day!  And we'll be continuing the prayers for a speedy recovery for her.

Our Friday Fish Fry (Grilling) is now under way on the patio.  It is such a gorgeous day, that I decided to fire up the grills and grill the fish tonight.  and our usual list of side dishes and desserts are ready, and on the warmer/cooler bar.

Have had a busy day today:  this morning, took care of laundry, and  earlier this afternoon, took my walk.  Decided to get it in today, as tomorrow and Sunday, our temps are going to hovering around 88, 89 degrees (who knows, we may actually see the temp reach 90, for the first time this season).

Everyone have a good evening and take care.

Good morning all railfan friends.  We have a good start here for the day.  Jean is feeling like a good start this morning.....Prayers help...!

Let us extend our Prayers to any out there who have some difficulity now.

It's a beautiful morning.  Just about perfect.  Clear sky....low humidity..{in Indiana ?}, and mod temps......

And.......................Our Pacer's  won against Miami Heat last night.  We are now 2 and I....in our favor.  Next game here at home too.

Jean commented late yesterday afternoon while sitting on the patio that there seems to be a lot of trains.....Hearing the horns in the distance from two lines.....CSX & NS.  That is 2.5 mi. for one and about a mi. in distance for the other....That one being the Frankton line of NS.
