Johnny, the Kenworth was hauling logs, the GMC was pulling the hog rack (I have the CD at home).....

This tractor is set up for dry van use, I haven't weighed this empty yet to figure out what my capacity is yet, but 47,000lb should be a piece of cake now.

Off to bed......

Randy, from the record we have, it sounds like hogs and not logs. With a dry van, you could haul logs, but I certainly would not haul hogs in it.Smile

I just looked at our current temp and cannot believe how warm it has gotten this afternoon:  60 degrees currently, here in Louisville.  No wonder I had to pull my sleeves up, just being here in the house.  The last time Walt and I were outside, I had my jacket on (and that was about an hour and a half ago).

I read awhile ago, on the home page, where Allentown, PA and College Town, PA were receiving quite a bit of snow; another one of those bad 4-letter words.

Here is our Saturday Afternoon/Night Pizza menu:

1.    Anchovie

2.    Canadian bacon

3.   Cheese

4.   Chicago style

5.    Goetta

6.    Ham & green pepper

7.    Hawaiian

8.    Italian sausage

9.    Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

Dessert Pizzas:

Apple, blackberry, cherry and peach.

Everyone enjoy your pizzas, have a good evening, and take care.

How could I have missed that? Ricki's middle nbame is Harley (she has Harley ancestors), and if I am asked for her  middle name, I will say, "Harley, as in motorcycle."

Tom, for I while I thought that the Razorbacks were going to leave at least some sidemeat, if not a porkchop or two, in Nashville today. It's too bad that the last field goal attempt missed.

Good Sunday morning all.  33 very chilly degrees here in Louisville this morning.  When I awoke, just after 6 a.m., we were at 35 degrees.  But we should rebound nicely, as we're to get to a high in the low 60s this afternoon.

Coffee, hot chocolate, juices, hot cider are all ready to go.  There's also hot water for hot tea.  On the warmer/serving station this morning:  bacon, eggs, oatmeal, toast (buttered, dry, and cinnamon).

You all have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, railfanning, whatever/wherever you need to go this morning.  Anyone have any requests for Sunday Dinner??

Looks like we'll have quite a bit of sunshine today.  Maybe a chance of some showers later in the day.  Kind of doubt it though...

This is our coldest morning this season.  33 degrees.

Much better than our home area out east where they have been treated to the results of a "nor-easter", bringing wind, snow and cold.  And with the leaves on many trees still....that spells trouble with power lines.

Hope Martinsville, Va., has sunshine today....believe it is forecast.

Nascar finals are winding down.

Church is next on schedule.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Joe, thank you so much for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I kept trying to get myself out of the bed, but it felt so comfy, that I just kept rolling over and going back to sleep (until Trapper the Cat decided to literally get in my face).

I haven't heard any news this morning, but I have seen our current temp reading:  50 degrees at 8:29 a.m.  Sun is coming out, and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful Halloween for the kiddos.

Mookie, I couldn't decide between the barbecue or meat loaf either:  that's why I put both on the menu last night.

Hope you all have a good day, take care and I'll see you all later this afternoon.

Mookie, et al, I've warmed up everything from our Sunday Dinner menu for lunch/supper today.  There's plenty of everything left, so you can still have your choice of all three meat selections, and whatever of the listed veggies and desserts.

It's a little breezy out, but the sun is shining, and it is turning out to be a boo-ti-ful afternoon.  Hope you'll all participate in our  "search and find" scavenger hunt for all the Halloween treats I've hidden though out the Cafe/Diner/CS for everyone.  Not only have I hidden all sorts of Halloween candy, but CDs, Train paraphanellia. (sp? right?)  Whatever you find, it is yours to keep!!

CW, the Pot Roast sounds good. I don't have to get ready for trick or treater's as kids don't come in to the apartment building.

I was just out, and unfortunately the little kids might find it a bit too cool. 46° with a west 16 mph wind. From yesterday afternoon until now we have gone from 61° down to freezing last night, up to 46° now, and down to 27° tonight. There was even a trace of snow this morning.

Nothing RR related in the news today beyond Pershing Square taking a position in CP. I posted a link about reaction to the deal on the related thread.

Bruce, we didn't have any this year, either.  Our block is a busy street and some commercial, so we don't attract the wee ones.

We will be getting your cold weather by Wed.  Will be nice tomorrow (going out) and rain/crud on Wed.

Really wish you would keep it for me!

Arghhhh.   Hate it when I can't get to sleep...

About 20 kids for trick or treat - way down from when mine were going out.  Also makes it a real crapshoot as far as getting candy.  You hate to run out, but you also don't want a lot left over (can't let it go to waist, you know).

Rain in our forecast, but only spotty.  Temps supposed to be mild, though, so I can get some outside work done, possibly including a little more painting.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  We had the most trick or treaters we've had in about 15 years:  6.  The last one came just before 8 p.m.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are all ready to go.  And a good, hot breakfast is on the warmer/serving station.

Our current temp is about 38, 39 degrees, supposed to get up to about 66, 67 degrees today.  Thursday is when the rain, and cold is supposed to be back to us here in Louisville.

Everyone have a very good morning, take care, and I'll see you all sometime this afternoon, when I get through with Tuesday Produce.

......One doorbell ring last evening.

Glad that "holiday" is behind us.  And now a new month...011 is winding down.

Sunshine this morning.  Some frost too.  35 degrees, when I first checked the instrument.  To be nice by this afternoon.  Hope so.

To be a good weather day.  And I'm looking forward to it.  Have scheduled {in my mind}, of things to do today.  Go pay Fall installment of taxes at the City / County Building downtown.  Sometime today, another mowing, along with catching any leaves that have come over on us with a good mulching.  Tractor / mower does a good job on this procedure.  Sometimes we can get away without bagging any...!

Looks like NBA basketball keeps pushing later and later, if any, this season.  Generally, like to keep up with our Pacers.  This year, when...Unknown.

Very nice outside:  we have a temp of 70.5 degrees and nice, warm sunshine.  Produce went very well this morning:  guess my talk to everyone did some good, as they all acted like the adults they are, and not little bitty kids.  Very well behaved today.

Since Walt and Sarah are working on the kitchen sink, supper tonight is:

Pizza   Pizza   Pizza!!

1.    Anchovie

2.    Cheese

3.    Hawaiian

4.    Pepperoni/mushroom

5.    Supreme

6.  Ham & green pepper

Hope you have all had a very good day, will have a very good evening, also.  Take care, and see you guys and gals, probably in the morning.

We had a touch of winter today--a light snow in the valley this morning, and, out here, it was all gone from the ground before sunset. Tomorrow is supposed to be fair and cold, with more precipitation coming Thursday.

CW, you did not have anything to do with that heist of pig's feet in California, did you? Surely, you are not that desperate for variety.Smile It is possible to buy them in some stores here, but I had enough back in the early sixties. I almost had an opportunity to eat some chitterlings back then, but the restaurant had sold out by the time I learned they were being served.

Stay warm.

Mom called last night from Arizona - wanted to know how we'd weathered the storm here.

I told her, "just fine."  It didn't snow a single flake here at the house.

We'll be seeing the white stuff soon enough, though.

Well, it is almost midnight here and I hadn't planned on posting today, but I saw an item on the 11:00 news I wanted to mention.

Two or three years ago, in the Lounge, I had mentioned seeing crews removing what had been the original CPR yard in Calgary, later called the Industrial Yard. Because of that removal, the City was able to build an underpass under the remaining double track mainline. They held the Grand Opening of the underpass today. What I thought worth mentioning about that was, there was aerial video taken showing what is left of almost the oldest disturbed soil left in Calgary. The first settlers here guessed wrongly about the new townsite, and the CPR broke virgin topsoil to build their mainline and the original yard. The video showed there are only a few spots left where you can still make out the outline of the original subgrade under the tracks. Once this recession ends, redevelopment of the site will commence, and those final traces of history will be gone. I think I may try to get down there soon to see if there are any opportunities to photograph it before it is gone.

27° now, dropping to a low of 21° tonight, and a high of 46° tomorrow. Time for bed now.Zzz

Johnny, nope, it wasn't me.  Absolutely do NOT care for pigs feet.  Or chitterlings, either.  When it comes to pigs, I'll eat bacon and ham.  That's it.  Don't even care for pig's tales.  I may have been raised in the country, but those things are things to eat, that this country girl says "No way, no how, unh unh".

Today's ad in paper sez our grocery store is having a big pork sale.  Hmmmm.....

We are having Bruce's weather.  60 yesterday, but 43 right now with a predicted high of 41.  (think about it)  Tinkling right now - I am inclined to think it is more heavy humidity than anything - but snow maybe by this afternoon.  No accumulations.

It's ok.  I have been cold for the last 2 weeks, so just another day in the fridge.

They have put up a "no train horn" corridor near us, so I can no longer hear the trains whistle.  But they can't do away with the noise of the motors!  They'll not take it all away from me, by golly!

All the snow talk.  None of that here.  As a matter of fact, after lunch, we'll be mowing the yard, along with mulching any leaves that have blown over on me.

Partly sunny.  Low as I saw it earlier today:  47.  To be near 70 this afternoon.
