Good Wednesday morning everyone.  60 degrees with light rain here in Louisville this morning.  We might see another 2 or 3 degree rise in temp, before the temp starts to very slowly start dropping to low 50s, upper 40s tonight.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are all ready to go.  And breakfast is on the warmer/serving bar.

Well, we finally finished decorating the Christmas tree last night.  Both Walt and I have taken a few pictures, and as soon as we get them downloaded to the computer, and uploaded to Shutterfly, we'll get them on here.  Decorating the tree was truly a 'family affair', as Sarah actually got to help decorate this year.  She and I put the garland on the tree, and Walt and I helped put ornaments on.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and if anyone has a special request for today, just let me know, so I can get it fixed.

Cannonball, that lady didn't show up this morning.  But, one of they guys fixed a couple of bags for me, and brought them down to the house, and set them on the porch.  They were still there, when I got home! On the truck, we had:  cabbage, greens, oranges, pears and potatoes.

For the rest of the afternoon/evening, here is our light menu:

1.  Vegetable beef soup w/cornbread

2.  The following sandwiches:

     a.  PB&J

     b.  Grilled cheese

     c.  Tuna salad

The rain isn't supposed to be in until later tonight, but, believe it or not, we have had some drizzle.  High is to be around 54, 55 degrees by 6 p.m.

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

Mornin Railfans!

It's 20F this morning with a light dusting on the white stuff on the ground.  Got the sound of little feet in the house last night; all 4 of them.

Thanks for the reply.  I'd like to add a few words beyond my signiture along with an image.  The image must come from  "My Pictures".  And if I can get the image there....how to control it's size...?

First things first, the image you want to have in your signature has to be located somewhere on the internet.  How big that image is, is best controlled by making a copy of the original file and then re-size the copy before you upload it to the internet.  The image in my signature is located on my DHVM website.

Thanks....we'll try later.

CW; itis sad when someone has to stoop  that low to steal something that is free. Watching over the produce that someone set down while taking other stuff to their car is part of my job at the Center. One person I caught  said she didn't want to wait in line.  Sheesh.  In spite of all that , we hope a MERRY CHRISTMAS  for you and yours.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  Mild here this morning, with a temp in the mid 40s.  Guess the rain will be in later.  We watched a very good movie last night:  Gone in 60 Seconds, with Nicolas Cage, Robert Duvall and Angelina Jole.  Of course, it meant I didn't get to bed until about 10:45, and morning came too early.  Hopefully, nobody will steal my food this morning at Produce, like last week.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Mudchicken, have plenty of hot cider, hot chocolate, and hot water for hot tea for Larry, Tom, and anyone else who prefers drinking hot tea.  And bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy are on the warmer/serving bar.

I'll see you later, after I get through with the produce people.  Take care, and have a good morning.

Finally, some rest.

Seven "Polar" trips over the weekend (all stayed on the tracks), plus an after party (actually we had nightly "after parties" at the hotel, but that was just a few of us gathering for some adult beverages and chat), the drive home this morning, wrapping and packing the granddaughter's gifts that I bought Sunday afternoon, and a meeting tonight.

Teaching a class Tuesday night, but at least I don't have to worry about checking on the train (for freezing)...

The general feeling on "Polar" this year is "TGIO."  (Thank Goodness It's Over!)  Hopefully next year won't be as eventful...

In the meantime, I'm pooped, and I'm headed for bed.

If you are referring to the D&H Image in my signature, you add an image there the same as you would do for a post; just within the profile setup is all for your signature.  Does that make since, if not let me know and I will walk you through it in greater detail.

I'm a believer that signatures should not be "over-sized" as to me they take away from the topics but signatures say something about you too so personalizing them is part of the fun too.

If I didn't drink instant coffee, I would never get any coffee.  It isn't so bad if you drown it with milk.

Cold pizza at breakfast is always a big hit here!  A piece of pizza and cold glass of milk for dunking and I can gag The Driver everytime!

Mookie, I went back to bed this morning, and when I re-awoke, Walt had already read my post from this morning.  So I couldn't jiggle his on/off switch.Smile, Wink & Grin  But we have decided, that with my jiggling the switch each morning, I should be able to make the coffee maker last another week and a half.  Although, if it doesn't hold out, guess I'll have to dig out my jar of instant coffee (of which I'm not a fan for drinking all the time).

For the rest of the day, here is our menu:

1.  Hot open face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters, beef gravy, green beans, corn, and your choice of slaw or garden salad and hot biscuits.

2.  Leftover pizzas from Saturday night

3.  Cream of broccoli soup w/grilled cheese or PB&J sandwiches

Everyone enjoy your afternoon, take care and see y'all later.

Good Morning fellow RailFans!

It's 29F with 1-3" in the forecast today.  Picked up a 2TB External Drive over the weekend and started compressing all the AVI files I generated from my old Video Tapes and putting a copy of them on there.  Should have all 996 GB of files copied over to it by Tuesday night.  With that project nearly wrapped up I got my Georgetown Loop Trip Report going again yesterday.

Peace be with you. 31 and sun in Carolina this morning, supposed to hit 65 later. CW, thanks for breakfast

We have a coffee maker but hardly ever use it. I am not a coffee person, and the wife only rarely drinks the stuff. You could use ours if you were closer.

Miss Florence is Miss SC, who will soon be Miss America come Jan 14. The place is abuzz with Back Bree Boyce sentiment. She has come a long way and I wish her the best. For a relatively small place like Florence, this is heady stuff.

Everyone have a good, safe and warm day

Good Monday morning everyone.  Hope everyone had a good weekend.  Now, we're really on the countdown to Christmas.  Waking up to a temp in the mid to upper 40s, high is supposed to be in the low 50s, probably around 52, 53 degrees this afternoon.  Rain will be coming in sometime this evening or overnight.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  A breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits & sausage gravy, bagels and bear claws are waiting for you on the warmer/serving bar.

For the past two mornings, I've had to keep jiggling the on/off switch on my coffeemaker, to get it to come on.  Going to have to say something to Handyman Mutt, since I'm the only one in the house who is drinking coffee, I keep forgetting to say something to him.

Anyway, you all have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Morning all.....

Belated thanks for all the birthday wishes, wound up spending it waiting for loads, but that's what happens when you get forty-some trucks in the same location.  Got rolling again in the afternoon, and really haven't stopped till today.  After I get this load to Beaver Dam, WI, tomorrow, should have about 3200 miles this week, so I can at least pay the bills again.....

Had a suicide by train yesterday morning back home, somebody walking down the tracks as a northbound rolled through, from what mom was saying, very messy.  Talked to a friend I know who works that line, was not him, gave him my condolences to pass along to his co-workers......

See everyone later.....

...Our day is to be sunny.  That's a good thing.  Temp this morning, was low 30's when I first checked.  But, generally this is to be an exceptional nice day, for this time in the season.

They say warmer this coming week.  Hate to even mention the lack of snow.  And seemingly, {to me}, for the past half dozen years, December has had some real cold spots, but so far....we've avoided it.

Dry day.....So, it's drive the car to church.  Let the truck rest....But we'll use it to head out for our Sunday meal...Today, probably at Texas Road House.  This is a pretty good one here in Muncie.

One more thing, I noted yesterday...the setting time for sunset raised one minute...I grasp onto each bit of info moving forward thru "Winter"...That means we'll be seeing daylight last longer {in the evening}, this way forward to the peek of Summer. {By the calendar}.

Peace be with you. 33 and sunny in Carolina this morning, headed for 58 later. We need rain or snow, or both. At this point, we ain't choosy. It is supposed to get to the 70s or close again tomorrow and the day after. Sounds like planning done by the givernment.

Everyone may you have a safe and happy CHRISTMAS.

Also, everyone have a safe and warm day.
