Good Tuesday morning everyone.  We had the most trick or treaters we've had in about 15 years:  6.  The last one came just before 8 p.m.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are all ready to go.  And a good, hot breakfast is on the warmer/serving station.

Our current temp is about 38, 39 degrees, supposed to get up to about 66, 67 degrees today.  Thursday is when the rain, and cold is supposed to be back to us here in Louisville.

Everyone have a very good morning, take care, and I'll see you all sometime this afternoon, when I get through with Tuesday Produce.

Arghhhh.   Hate it when I can't get to sleep...

About 20 kids for trick or treat - way down from when mine were going out.  Also makes it a real crapshoot as far as getting candy.  You hate to run out, but you also don't want a lot left over (can't let it go to waist, you know).

Rain in our forecast, but only spotty.  Temps supposed to be mild, though, so I can get some outside work done, possibly including a little more painting.

Bruce, we didn't have any this year, either.  Our block is a busy street and some commercial, so we don't attract the wee ones.

We will be getting your cold weather by Wed.  Will be nice tomorrow (going out) and rain/crud on Wed.

Really wish you would keep it for me!

CW, the Pot Roast sounds good. I don't have to get ready for trick or treater's as kids don't come in to the apartment building.

I was just out, and unfortunately the little kids might find it a bit too cool. 46° with a west 16 mph wind. From yesterday afternoon until now we have gone from 61° down to freezing last night, up to 46° now, and down to 27° tonight. There was even a trace of snow this morning.

Nothing RR related in the news today beyond Pershing Square taking a position in CP. I posted a link about reaction to the deal on the related thread.

1.  Meat loaf w/mashed taters, gravy, broccoli w/cheese sauce, or peas & carrots, or lima beans w/corn

2.  Old fashioned Pot Roast w/potatoes, carrots, corn, and and any of the above mentioned veggies

3.  Pork barbecue sandwich w/a tomato-based sauce, pickled beets, cucumber salad and German potato salad

Desserts:

1.  Lemon sponge pie,

2.  Rhubarb custard pie

3.  Shoofly cake

4.  Apple dumplings

Mookie, et al, I've warmed up everything from our Sunday Dinner menu for lunch/supper today.  There's plenty of everything left, so you can still have your choice of all three meat selections, and whatever of the listed veggies and desserts.

It's a little breezy out, but the sun is shining, and it is turning out to be a boo-ti-ful afternoon.  Hope you'll all participate in our  "search and find" scavenger hunt for all the Halloween treats I've hidden though out the Cafe/Diner/CS for everyone.  Not only have I hidden all sorts of Halloween candy, but CDs, Train paraphanellia. (sp? right?)  Whatever you find, it is yours to keep!!

Good Monday morning everyone.  Joe, thank you so much for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I kept trying to get myself out of the bed, but it felt so comfy, that I just kept rolling over and going back to sleep (until Trapper the Cat decided to literally get in my face).

I haven't heard any news this morning, but I have seen our current temp reading:  50 degrees at 8:29 a.m.  Sun is coming out, and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful Halloween for the kiddos.

Mookie, I couldn't decide between the barbecue or meat loaf either:  that's why I put both on the menu last night.

Hope you all have a good day, take care and I'll see you all later this afternoon.

It looks like we've really been slow in here today.  Guess its a good thing I'm running behind.  Here is our Sunday Dinner menu:

2.  Old fashioned Pot Roast w/potatoes, carrots, corn, and and any of the above mentioned veggies

Desserts:

1.  Lemon sponge pie,

2.  Rhubarb custard pie

Hope you have all had a very good Sunday, take care and enjoy your evening.

Looks like we'll have quite a bit of sunshine today.  Maybe a chance of some showers later in the day.  Kind of doubt it though...

This is our coldest morning this season.  33 degrees.

Much better than our home area out east where they have been treated to the results of a "nor-easter", bringing wind, snow and cold.  And with the leaves on many trees still....that spells trouble with power lines.

Hope Martinsville, Va., has sunshine today....believe it is forecast.

Nascar finals are winding down.

Church is next on schedule.

Good Sunday morning all.  33 very chilly degrees here in Louisville this morning.  When I awoke, just after 6 a.m., we were at 35 degrees.  But we should rebound nicely, as we're to get to a high in the low 60s this afternoon.

Coffee, hot chocolate, juices, hot cider are all ready to go.  There's also hot water for hot tea.  On the warmer/serving station this morning:  bacon, eggs, oatmeal, toast (buttered, dry, and cinnamon).

You all have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, railfanning, whatever/wherever you need to go this morning.  Anyone have any requests for Sunday Dinner??

Randy, from the record we have, it sounds like hogs and not logs. With a dry van, you could haul logs, but I certainly would not haul hogs in it.Smile

How could I have missed that? Ricki's middle nbame is Harley (she has Harley ancestors), and if I am asked for her  middle name, I will say, "Harley, as in motorcycle."

Tom, for I while I thought that the Razorbacks were going to leave at least some sidemeat, if not a porkchop or two, in Nashville today. It's too bad that the last field goal attempt missed.

I just looked at our current temp and cannot believe how warm it has gotten this afternoon:  60 degrees currently, here in Louisville.  No wonder I had to pull my sleeves up, just being here in the house.  The last time Walt and I were outside, I had my jacket on (and that was about an hour and a half ago).

I read awhile ago, on the home page, where Allentown, PA and College Town, PA were receiving quite a bit of snow; another one of those bad 4-letter words.

Here is our Saturday Afternoon/Night Pizza menu:

1.    Anchovie

2.    Canadian bacon

3.   Cheese

4.   Chicago style

5.    Goetta

6.    Ham & green pepper

7.    Hawaiian

8.    Italian sausage

9.    Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

Dessert Pizzas:

Apple, blackberry, cherry and peach.

Everyone enjoy your pizzas, have a good evening, and take care.

Johnny, the Kenworth was hauling logs, the GMC was pulling the hog rack (I have the CD at home).....

This tractor is set up for dry van use, I haven't weighed this empty yet to figure out what my capacity is yet, but 47,000lb should be a piece of cake now.

Off to bed......

It was a great game last night. How about the left fielder's expression change after he caught that fly ball, ending the game? (And his expression as he caught a possible home run ball just before it left the playing firled?

Tom, will the Bulldogs wear alligator shoes when they leave Jacksonville today? The Gators really need to grow more hide after the Tide and two sets of Tigers now have new alligator shoes.

....Noted 37 degrees about 7 this morning.  Clear sky, and lots of sunshine.  Probably will see roughly, 50 degrees today.  But my home area back in Pennsylvania will be seeing a potential of 5" plus of snow today.  This is exceptionally early for this kind of stuff.  Even though the elevation there is roughly, 2,000'.

Our first sign of snow here the last season was 11 / 5 and the year before:  12 / 8.....and that was just a skiff and less than a half inch.

Elevation here: 937'.  That does make a difference.

Folks in the "diner" might note, Progress Rail rolled out their first railroad engine yesterday here in Muncie.  See the thread, and or pull up "TheStarPress", on the internet to see a photo.

Edit:  Also, folks here might take a look over on the Roanoke cam....Special passenger train in place to head to Ga. tomorrow.  Several domes on it and visiible now.  3 Amtrak engines on the point.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  A very chilly 33 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  There is a possibility we could see a snowflake  or few, but nothing other than that.  We'll make it up to about 57 degrees for a high around 4 this afternoon.  And Joe, thanks for fixing the coffee and breakfast.  On a morning like this, oatmeal and toast sound like the perfect breakfast.

Everyone have a good day, take care whatever you'll be doing today, and see you all back in here tonight.

CW, fish and fries, or as we call them chips, sounds great. We also call potato chips, chips as well.

Been a very dark, heavily overcast day here today. I had lights on in the apartment most of the day. 39° now with a low at freezing later. More of the same to come. I've got the World Series on now. That was a great game last night.

No new local RR news.

Afternoon everyone.  Been busy doing  a little bit more laundry.  But late lunch/early supper is now on the warmer/serving station:  fish, fries, slaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, mac & cheese, deep fried breaded mushrooms, etc.  Along with the regular list of all the desserts.

Everyone have a good evening, keep warm and take care.

Good Friday morning everyone.  Temp in the low 40s this a.m., should make it up into the low to mid 50s for a high today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer/serving station.

Randy, hope everything keeps going well with the new Kenworth.  Take care, and come back in whenever you can.
