Hello everyone.
I nodded off after supper so stopping in for a late night Supreme pizza seemed like a good idea.. As I mentioned on Tuesday I've not been feeling that great lately. But I have been getting done what needs to be done, it is that after all that I have been too tired to post here.
While I'm waiting for the 11:00 news I see that it it still 59° out. We have had a nice couple of days, but tomorrow there are some showers forecast.
Been quite the week for natural disasters in western Canada this week, but everything seems to be getting back to normal. I still can't believe the controlled flood in Manitoba worked as well as it did. "Don't worry your pretty little head Ma'am, we are just going to send this raging out of control river that-a-way!" And some Engineer is going to have to explain why their estimates of 200 sq. km. being flooded turned into 3.4 sq. km. It upset a lot of people that didn't need to be.
Everybody take care.

Good Sunday morning everyone. Joe, thank you so very much for taking care of breakfast this morning. Couldn't seem to get in this morning: computer decided to take its own sweet time booting up, and connecting.
65 degrees with partly cloudy skies, and scattered fog. Here in our area, we seem to have missed the fog this morning. Another day of mid to upper 80s for a high, with chances of pop up showers/storms.
Kinda quiet today! Have we had another health dept inspection?
Actually, the general forum has had very little activity either....
It made it to 88 today, with partly clear skies.
Take care.
....Yes, it's been quiet in here for some time. Hope the whole concept is not slipping away.
Right now, radar shows we are in the path of moving weather from southwest to northeast. Spots of it are passing thru here. just had a little rain squaw pass while the sun was shining.
But some of it is serious....North of us, up in Minneapolis, there has been some serious damage. I'm sure other areas as well. We're to have up to 30 or so mph winds overnight and possible severe stuff...But it's spotty. Nice and warm here all day. Still have sunshine.
Have a radar web site out of Indianapolis active on my computer here to keep track.
Quentin
Good Monday morning everyone. Temp is in the low 60s, after a thunderstorm rolled through here about 4:30 this morning. Digital TV box is reporting No Signal, so don't know what is going on this morning news wise around our area.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast is on the serving station: bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, and the following fruits: kiwi, strawberry, cantaloupe, watermelon, sliced tomatoes.
Want to apologize for not getting back in here yesterday afternoon/evening. Just didn 't make it back on the computer, to make it in here.
Everyone have a good morning, keep dry, if you're in the rain/storms zones and you all take care.
morning
had some thunderboomers come through while at work.guessers say a chance of rain all week.time to get matt to the bus.Cw thanks for breakfast.

Terrible lost of life and property down in Missouri since yesterday....The loss of life number {89}, being reporting is staggering.
Comments of the total most likely will go highter....Awesome..!
That direct on the hospital was so unfortunate....Looks like the basic structure held up, but windows are mostly blown out....and patients of course had to be moved.
The potential remains intact to have more severe stuff all thru the path again for several days.
As a couple of us have observed this is shaping up to be a very bad year for weather news. At he moment, both the issues in northern Alberta (forest fires) and in southern Manitoba (flooding) seem to be getting better. There must be a disturbingly high number of people killed in tornadoes in the US up to this point.
In Calgary it is 52° today with light rain. Compared to the weather we have had this last seven months this bit of rain isn't bothering me at all. I no sooner typed this than the wind shifted slightly and now I am going to have to go and close a couple of windows to keep the rain out.
Have a good day.
Heartbreaking news out of Joplin, indeed. The storm is now being rated an EF4, with hints that some places might have experienced EF-5 winds. Debris from the hospital has been found 70 miles away - incredible.
A fire-oriented site (Statter911) has audio from public safety radio as the tornado hit and immediately thereafter. Emergency services personnel were completely overwhelmed.
Gotta respect Mother Nature...

Yes, Larry, it is very heartbreaking! My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in and around Joplin, MO.
We've had some thunderstorms roll through Louisville and area a couple, three hours ago. Hopefully, it is over for tonight. So far, we haven't lost power, so that is a good thing. Supposed to have another round in the morning. Uh oh, think I'm hearing thunder again. Not where I can see if it is also lightning. Got up to 81 degrees today, and currently down to 66 degrees.
Posting supper menu for I get off:
1. Beef noodles
2. Lasagna
Both served with garden salad and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.
Where is Mookie? Has anyone heard from her lately?!?! Have sent her an email, inquiring on her, and sent her a message on facebook; haven't heard a thing from her.
Indiana just hosted a line of weather that passed thru in the last few hours. Once again, it split north and south of us as it passed west to east.
We did get about a half hour of occasional blasts of wind and some rain...Haven't looked at the rain gauge yet.
But south of Indy & I 70 we had nasty tornado warnings and we're already hearing of massive power outings, and some damage. Have seen some pic's sent in {to TV}, showing large trees laying flat on the ground, with roots broken off at the surface.
I'm sure south of 70, we'll hear of some pretty nasty stuff.
The weather line is passed us now, and it's calm and passive, and partly cloudy, a bit cooler, but still plenty warm.
Good Tuesday morning everyone. We had a quiet night. Seems like Southern Indiana was hardest hit in our area. Thousands of people without power. Quentin, glad you and Jean are A-OK. Our next round should be hitting in a couple of hours or so.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, toast, eggs.
Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all after I get through with Tuesday Produce.
Good morning and peace be with you. 69 and partly clear in Carolina at present. I have been watching the awful news out of Joplin. It is difficult to fathom what happened there. There is an interesting link that has the sheriff office and fire dept radio audio there right after the storm hit. It is

Very sobering. You really should give a listen.
Everyone take care and stay safe

As a regular reader of Statter911 I caught that last night. A very chaotic 36 minutes. Only by having a map of that neighborhood in front of me could I get a true sense of the magnitude of the disaster that they faced - something I'm not sure any one responder on the ground realized until some time into the event.
As you look at the map, realize that a three-quarter mile swath beginning west of the hospital and running east to 15th and Ridgeline (US71) and beyond was laid bare, as can be seen in the photos and videos on-line.
Nasty stuff.
Was there any railroad involved in the tornado in Joplin ?? Or is there a railroad going through there?? Nothing is ever mentioned , just the town.

The topo map on acmemapper shows a KCS line cutting right through the damage path, and a former Frisco line just to the north of it and parallel. Can't speak to any effect on operations.
afternoon
sunshine this afternoon.Ohio City and delphos got the bad storms last night to our south.Guessers say more storms tomorrow afternoon.going to get the mower and the trimmer out so I don't have to bale.Cw thanks for supper tonight.
I see there is still very bad news coming out of Joplin, MO. One of the Canadian news networks was saying this has been the worst single tornado event loss of life in almost 60 years. I hope the weather will settle down soon.
We have had a real drop in temperature here as it is only 43° with a light drizzle. It was really getting close to the point where the precipitation might have change to snow last night.
Everyone please stay safe, warm and dry.
The Tuesday Night Mexican Fiesta is on the serving station.
Produce went well this morning. Not a whole lot on the truck, but I did bring in some seedless watermelons. I was home around 9:30 this morning. Truck came at 8:40. Had 56 people this morning, but my helpers got the truck unloaded and bags made up, super fast today. After all the clients left, lo and behold, the Bread/Pastry truck showed up. Seems the driver had a new grandchild born out of state, and was out for 3 weeks. He didn't know why they called and said that we wouldn't be getting the bread/pastries delivered any more this year. So reckon we may be planning again for the truck to come on Tuesday mornings.
Everyone have a good evening and take care.
Good Wednesday morning everyone. Calm night for a change. Beautiful morning, with the sun shining. Feels nice outside.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Regular weekday breakfast is ready and on the serving station.
Believe it or not, folks, but I was up awake until about 12:25 a.m. this morning, before going to sleep. Not totally sure what brought that bout of wakefulness about, but slept until 6:25 this morning.
Guess it is time to take roll call again, since no one seems to be showing up around here. Too many "lurkers", not enough people contributing to the conversations.
I haven't really slept much all night myself, so I thought I would stop by for breakfast today.
I see from the news it was another bad night for tornadoes. I hope it hasn't hit the home areas of some of the regular posters.
Up here it is still at our overnight low of 39°, with light rain continuing to fall. It is time again to go out and pick up some groceries and prescriptions, and driving in this area is just too complicated for such a short distance so I will have to dig out the poncho.
I was noticing yesterday that there were remarkably few posters on any of the threads from about 10 AM to 6 PM EDT. I was wondering if all this dangerous weather was having an affect on peoples internet time. It might be hard to concentrate on things here with so much else going on around them.
We will have to see how it goes today. Take care.

...Yes, weather....Very serious and disastrous tornados have been plaguing, especially south, north and west of us....But some of the nasty stuff has passed close by here in Indiana. But the terrible stuff seems to be hitting Oklahoma with more fatilities and distruction.
Forecast's seem to indicate a change {to the better}, in this area by Saturday and beyond a few days....hopefully for the holiday weekend....and points east....The direction we're heading.
the swamp has returned with a vengance!!! lots of rain. Was watching and tornadoes skirted around our area. All family is accounted for.Cw thanks for supper.Time to get things around for work.
Taking a break from doing my exercises. Have gotten just about half way through them. Currently we have a temp of 88 degrees, with partly cloudy skies. We are under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. EDT tonight. And that's about the time the nasty stuff is supposed to come into our area.
For supper tonight, we have:
1. Tuna melt casserole w/your choice of fries or baked tater and garden salad
2. Some Chinese selections: won ton soup, egg rolls, Moo Goo Gai Pan combo, Seafood combo, pepper steak, Beef or shrimp chow mein, sweet & sour pork, chicken egg foo young, chicken fried rice, special fried rice (meat, pork, shrimp, chicken).
Hope everyone stays safe tonight. Take care, and see you all in the a.m.
CW, the tuna melt casserole with a baked potato sounds great for supper.
About an hour and a half ago I received a weather warning telling me of 2" of rain in the next 18 hours. Doesn't seem like a lot to some, but in a location where the total annual rainfall is less the 14" it is bound to be noticeable. And this same front is expected to produce snow down in the Crowsnest Pass. Predicting where the snow stops and the rain begins isn't always easy. I am already getting excited about my report here tomorrow morning!
The folks who were evacuated because of the forest fires up at Slave Lake, AB are being allowed to start returning home today. I am happy for them.
.....It's been a busy weather evening in Indiana...And still making noise. So far, no nasty stuff to do damage here, but the watches and warnings are all over the State.
Damage has occured in many areas. We are watching another red line coming this way over by Terre Haute via active radar and severe weather watch on the computer here.
Hope and pray for others who have been hit by damage or worse.
Weather forecast looking better for weekend and beyond. Hope it doesn't change.
